Blind or Mata simply not good enough for different reasons, if we have to get shut of anyone. Give Martial another year, and see how he performs
Glad I'm not alone.3players in 3 different positions and we need to get rid of one? dont understand the logic.
Mata. But why stop at these players? Next: make a thread on if one has to go from Herrera, Bailly, Mkhi and Rashford.
Then what about Lingard or Jones?I feel it's a justified thread based on last seasons performances/Jose's perceived opinion on these players, and I do not have a short memory on Martial, of the three I'd keep him first, but imo Jose may not.
Maybe as I do with treads I think are pointless it's best you just ignore.
Then what about Lingard or Jones?
Blind is slower than Mata, and Blind's lack of pace exposes him in both attack and defense just as much, if not more, than Mata.Blind is useful, Martial is too youn so Mata for me
He wouldnt make it in the first team for Madrid, Barca, Juventus, Bayern, so why is he good enough for us? It kills me when he starts on the right and his lack of pace just exposes him
Martial as he doesn't have the mentality Jose demands.
I'd also go for this and as he'd be the one who would fetch the highest fee ?
Add Fellaini to the list and it makes the decision easier
Unless we're bringing Perišić and another wing-forward, no sense whatsoever in selling Martial.Depends how Mourinho feels about Martial. If he's not in his plans then he's only going to significantly depreciate in value after another year on the sidelines, whereas now we should at least be able to break even on him. He's easily one of the most talented players in the squad and it'd be a shame to lost him, but it'd be even worse to let him fade away before selling him next summer. For all sorts of reasons.
To me these are three players who are clearly very talented, but that Jose just isn't that sure about, they are also only a handful of players that we have potentially available who could generate a decent fee (other than Smalling), but they also all seem to be fans favourites (unlike Smalling), so if one has to go, which one?
Just had this discussion today about Blind. The guy started 7/10 of our last matches. He's not going anywhere.None of these three is going anywhere this summer. Just because Jose doesn't play someone all the time doesn't mean he doesn't rate or trust them. I doubt he has a bad word to say about Blind, but he's clocked that right now what we need him for is to sit on the bench and be ready to fill a variety of holes when necessary (ooh vicar). Similarly, I think Mata has thoroughly won him over, but again he sees him as a reliable attacking option at the moment, rather than a best-XI starter.
Martial is the only one of the three who obviously is in Mourinho's bad books. And he'll survive because Mou might be willing to berate his players publicly but he's not such an idiot that he can't recognise a potentially world-class attacker when he sees one.
