I already forgot half the crazy ideas TBH. Will be very busy for the next couple of weeks as well, but maybe in November I would have the time. Doubt people would be happy to wait that long though :lol:

I want a sheep draft badly. Aldo's one was superb. Best fun I ever had in a draft with so much excitement you almost forget it's just a fantasy draft :lol:
 
I will try my best as I want to participate in the draft as well! Anto I am sure will do a great sheep draft/crazy draft soon and Crappy wants an auction one.

I don't mind having another "normal" draft, maybe I'll pass depending on the theme but I'd want to play generally :lol:

I don't think I will have the time for it TBH. You guys are doing a good job anyway, particularly EAP in this one. One motivation I had was showing you guys how to run a fecking draft with clear, precise and forward-looking rules, sticking to them, and not changing them at every turn. That much is sorted...
 
Theme of the next draft will be to pick one manager - and you can only draft players which this managers has had playing for him. There has been enough drafts with the highlight on the players - so it is time for the participants to dig deep in the managerial part of football history.

Snake Draft
  1. Every manager picks a manager(all time), in the first round, leaving the last(16th) to pick a manager - with the first pick to pick a player to balance it out.
  2. The players will be rated based on their level under the manager you've chosen. I.e if you picked Mourinho then Di Maria won't be as good as if you had picked LVG or Ancelotti.
  3. National teams only counts for the reinforcement rounds. (I.e you can't pick Del Bosque and pick the Spanish team, but if you were to make it through the first round you could suddenly add those players as reinforcements there.)
  4. 2 reinforcements per won game, except after the semi-final where you only get 1 reinforcement.
All managers will be voting once for the match result - and once for the manager they thought did the best job at replicating/honoring the manager they chose.

This won't work, you can't expect scan voters to follow it to the letter. I'd drop it, the theme/concept works, but you've overcomplicated it unnecessarily here.

Reinforcements could be very tricky, the choice of manager will be key there. Those at the bottom are probably fecked tbh, but when I think it should be 8 managers then your problem is everyone ends up after a rather inbred pool of players.
 
One manager sticks out like a sore thumb. Should win this hands down really.
 
the idea is superb in theory, but it could end up a little lop-sided. would be watching from the side-lines with loads of interest. when will this be starting?

You should play. Snake drafts are far less time-consuming than auction/sheep. This format in particular should be a breeze.

That's not a bad call. If anyone picks HIM first the advantage can be watered down by others competing for the same players. Then others will pick managers based on style of play, etc. Should end up far more balanced.

It is all about the choice of manager! Imagine unlocking your 1958 Brazil squad for reinforcements etc(an example haven't checked if that'd be possible.). Remember that it all time, so there will be loads of great managers to go for. Sounds fair enough to me that managers can be multipicked.

I would love to be able to play, but I am not sure that I could afford the time for research (which is the best part of this)

wouldn't mind helping someone, but then again I rate players differently

:lol: I have the exact same problem. Have had quite a few arguments based on players either being over or under rated in these drafts.

Particularly with @VivaJanuzaj :p

i wouldn't mind but I will warn you I am more of a football is more than just goals man.

I rate Danny Welbeck very highly.
I don't really like the way C.Ronaldo has been playing post-2006-07
I still don't think very highly of Gareth Bale
I love Nani as a player
I love players like Le Tissier and Bergkamp, but not really loving the super-efficient speed-robos like Ronaldo, Bale. I don't mind Robben though

So do you still want to team up?

:lol: I agree with your first four points except the bale one. I think he is class and will be one of the best wingers when he retires.

As for the last one, I think I agree I prefer players with flair on the pitch but if they combine dribbling, tricks with pace its a sight to behold.

Can we add some sort of randomiser here? Or just in case both manager are able to pick the same player, what I suggested in the reality draft, that both send their pick to a neutral person and if both pick the same player, he's blocked and they have to start again? It's such a huge advantage to be first, when you only get to pick one player.

I know it's unlikely, that both look for the same player with the manager theme, but just in case.

I think the player reinforcement after round one should be in the sheep mode like Balu suggested. It's the best way to go. Annah if you won't get knocked out than someone else will do the reinforecements.

Annah how exactly will this be decided? Say I want to replicate united 99 side but feel I can get players who would fit that side better by selecting a manager other than SAF say mourinho. Will I then be deducted points for not replicating mourinho's system or will I be judged on SAF system?

Up to the voters to decide, but yes, you should be opting to play a tactic the manager would use, with players that manager would have used. So if you Guardiola but you want to play a 5 man defense - then you'll lose all the "honorary" votes so to say.

One can vote for a team to win - but still vote against them in the "honorary" vote. So managers gets two votes.
