ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

India are still well in this. Only been able to listen to the radio commentary but it doesn't sound like an easy pitch to bat on. Pressure of chasing in a final can't be under-estimated either.

Warner and Head will be key, if one of them can get Australia off to a flying start then they're in a great position. Lose them early and India are on top. Not bothered who wins so hopefully it's a close one.

How could he have bottled it when he retained it - odd description.

they played proper shite cricket and if england actually had some warm ups and didn’t throw away the first two games, they could have won 5-0.

We'll know by the end of the power play whether this will be close or not.

He's definetly getting better but thought he bottled the Ashes a bit.

Unbelievable player though.

had a good day today but generally a crap captain

bit like Buttler - won a world t20 but you suspect the captain didnt have a lot to do with it

Is this a rimaldo serious post or a rimaldo sarcastic post

Nerving total for both sides. Hoping no early wickets, so the Aussies can just work on steadily scoring runs

I'm usually "let both teams bat" like I was in the semi finals, but if India don't get 2-3 early wickets this is over.

This is what happens when Kohli doesn’t bats till the end. You can score quick fire 40 but you need to bat till 50 overs and maintain the momentum. So much for “playing for milestone” nonsense from T20 watching crowd.

We are 30 runs short. If dew comes, its all over

Don't much watch cricket but I'm here for the belter bollywood songs they play during the fillers.

If there is dew, Aussies win it.
If there are no early wickets, Aussies win it.
If there is no dew, and India get early wickets, but the Aussie late order and tail is allowed to wag, Aussies win it.
If India are sloppy in the field or drop a catch or two, Aussies win it.
If any single Indian bowler is targeted and cannot cope, Aussies win it.

If none of the above happen, then India may win.

Such a weird excuse and time to defend Kohli.

Aussies need to get through the power play without losing a wicket. It’s a big ask but Head, and Warner are in decent nick.

The total also means they don’t need to go HAM in the power play. Going at required RR or just below is fine.

It’s a World Cup final and Sky are showing a montage of England in this World Cup.

I can actually see them opening with Marsh instead of head

First ten overs will be absolutely crucial, if India get three back in the shed then they win easily but if Warner and Head survive the first ten overs then the game will be taken away from India. They have the bowling attack to do it and Australia's middle order is shaky.

To be fair rahul and Jadeja should have rotated the strike more and tried to attack part timers. This is a 260 pitch so rohit's innings minus his brainless shot was a good inning.

But yes Kohli batting till 40th over would have taken us to 260 -270 mark.

Marsh would be better coming in a bit lower down imo. He’ll be a very useful weapon if the Aussies find themselves stuck in the middle period with Smith and Labuschagne playing singles and dots (as would Maxwell).

At least this is in the interval. The live broadcast of the match itself took a brief moment between overs to showcase pictures of "joy" in the tournament and apparently only the Indian team experienced joy.

Thoroughly disappointed that after Rohit, Indian batters succumbed to the pressure and withdrew into their shell. We were so scared of losing wickets that we didn't take a single one of their fifty odd bowlers on - not even the part timers. Sure, it's not a lost cause of a total on this pitch, but we could have been in such a better position.

Gill throwing his wicket away for free, Iyer walking out flat footed and unaware, Rahul not even taking singles or twos in his partnership with Kohli, SKY giving away strike and not taking the bowlers on. Great credit to Australia for execution of their game plans, but these batsmen all crumbled under pressure.

Wasn’t on the Indian telecast
