ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

This is just moronic. Rain stopped over an hour ago, still nowhere near starting. Why don't they have covers that cover the entire ground? If/when the ground is deemed fit they'll waste a further 30 minutes on the toss and anthems.

There's nothing you can do about the weather in outdoor sports but I don't get why international cricket can't take measures and be a bit proactive when it comes to rain. Wet outfields can easily be avoided.

It's like they are still stuck in old age because it is a gentlemen game. Stupidity. What are the chances, just as they are to bowl the first ball, rain again comes and tada that's it.

No rain for the past two hours. Sun shining. Match called off because of a 'patch'. ICC can seriously go and feck themselves.

What's even strange is the curators were just standing and not even trying to fix the patch. Poor stuff all together.

I went to an England T20 at Old Trafford that got called off due to a boggy patch in the outfield. Embarrassing really, if you know there'll be rain for prolonged periods why not cover the entire pitch? Cover only the square during shorter breaks if necessary.

Day 10: England vs Bangladesh | Afghanistan vs New Zealand
According to George Dobbell, Moeen dropped and Plunkett in which is a strange move as Moeen has been bowling better than Rashid.

England slightly short with the bat today batting first which is unusual for this team . Moeen wasn't contributing much with the bat anyway though

Good decision. Rashid has the x factor. Moeen is an ordinary cricketer who has been stealing a living in ODIs for a long time.

Disagree. I'd take Moeen over Rashid any day. Moeen isn't a great bowler but better than Rashid. Spin bowling is a clear weakness in England lineup.

Nothing like seeing a green pitch, winning the toss and putting the opposition in to bat first and then finding out the pitch isn't doing diddly squat.

Yeah I thought it was strange too. Rashid looks like he's struggling. Plus this looks a good opportunity to get Moeen back in form.

Don't think they helped themselves on that one though tbf.

Fair enough opening with spin has been successful against England so far, but I think all it achieved today was giving Roy and Bairstow some sighters for when the quicks did come on.

I think you're better off looking for swing and seam movement at Cardiff in the first two-three overs and going to spin first change early if there's nothing there.

True. The only reason they bowled first was the green pitch, then they decided not to use it.

Let's do a guessing game for England score first innings. I'm going for 455.

Shakib has already bowled seven overs. Wow.

Agree, Shakib was worth 2 overs max at the start and Mustafizur should have been backing him up.

Yeah England played him sensibly. Let him use up his overs and didn't take any risks. As I said earlier, we should be sending Buttler in next.

Although what really hasn't helped is that the Bangladesh seamers have decided to bowl throwdowns.
