ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

It's only Jadeja's innings which made Dhoni's look half decent. Otherwise he'd look like the absolute mug that he looked against England.

Yeah you're right, I was defending Dhoni earlier but his performance was so dependent on Jadeja pulling off a Superman-like performance. That is an unrealistic expectation.

We are gonna beat Australia tomorrow then suffer a crushing defeat to NZ in the final. I can feel it in my water.

Yeah. But expect Thala lovers to defend him even now. It is amazing, feels stupid to blame Dhoni when top order failed so badly but the way Jadeja was batting, Dhoni definitely dropped the ball by 'taking it deep'. Once we needed 60 off 6, he had to go big. Knew his batting style would cost us at least one game this WC and it did.
Absolutely spot on. I feel sick, especially for Jadeja and his efforts though the entire game

Great game! Terrific performance by NZ.

Hope they go on & with it all now.

An outstanding performance with the ball from the Kiwis but what a shame India's top order couldn't handle them and Jadeja's efforts were in vain. So who will India pin the blame on?

wooohooo, cracking match, and what a throw by Guptil that basically ended it.

If this was a cricket forum I'd start a thread on the importance of a top class fielder. I think it hardly goes into consideration when selecting players. Guptil who has been a disaster with the bat arguably cemented it for his team to get to the final

Well played India. Unfortunately subcontinent teams will never be allowed to prosper with this mindset of playing hasbeens like Dhoni. A more aggressive bat and you had it
Dhoni's going to retire now isn't he. He has to.

Surely you'll see some changes to the batting order after the WC. Wouldn't be surprised to see the following:

Rohit (c)
Shaw
Kohli
Jadav
Samson
Pant (wk)
Pandya
Jadeja
Bhuvneshwar
Chahal
Bumrah

NZ totally deserve it.. Really well played..

I had no idea what they were doing, but they clearly saw the pitch was rubbish and did well to get to a competitive total against a really good bowling attack..
And bowled superbly with the new ball.

Hope they go on and win the whole thing.. Love a good underdog story.

Aus winning would be boring.. they are the clear favorites.

Looks like a good lineup. That bowling unit is pretty incredible

NZ deserved that, played extremely well. Glad India are out, can’t stand majority of their team/fans

Get in. Don’t have no beef with India supporters but their team pissed me off this tournament. Having said that Dhoni is so frustrating these days.

How ridiculous was him leaving the last ball of the 46th over? :wenger:

India had that game at the end but Dhoni really is just too smart for his own good. He actually left a ball with 52 needed off 31 .

2nd successive final for NZ.. impressive.
Don't often think of them as a top side, but they are rarely a walkover.

Pakistan bitching about how they deserved it should stop now. NZ deserved it for sure.

Kohlis mates will be in for as long as he's captain. Dhoni 2023

Williamson's captaincy won them that one, kohli was so bad. Why did dhoni not come in at 4?

Also, @Ronaldo's ego @Mr.Ridiculous__
Kohli's captaincy in limited over format is massively overrated. And to make matter worse he has a yes man in shastri to feed his ego while making decision. There is a reason Kohli as a captain has also not won a single IPL. He is a poor tactician and today was another proof of that.

Kiwis deserve to break their World Cup duck. Seriously punch above their weight every single time. They knew Indians can’t handle quality swing bowling, as we saw earlier this year in that 92 all out game. And they did everything right with the ball. Santner was unbelievably good too.

It’s a shame the Indian top order couldn’t handle it. Heads gotta roll after this game. I’ll start with the selectors for being unable to find a settled middle order and Shastri for being a useless yes man.
