That was a sitter..
To be fair, India has been the best team in this tournament, regardless of how this will finish. This is an anomaly.
As a cricketer yourself, you'd know well. Better teams and players do have bad days.
All well buddy!
It's a knockout tournament - the best team in the tournament is the team that wins it.
No flukes, but being lucky certainly helps. All true. Just think you don't fluke winning a tournament in a format like this.
And glad to hear it.
Nope. Knockout tournaments are the exact opposite of what you are saying. Any team having a bad day will go out.
People were crapping on NZ to have flukes through and yet see where they are.
How so? NZ have bowled and caught brilliantly. But the bizarre batting mentality we've shown through the tournament was going to hurt us at some point.
Cognitive dissonance, Sults.

7th over for Henry. Grandhomme has all 10 left.. a bit risky?

Damn, this would be an upset. A country of 4.8m slaying a cricket mad country of 1.3bn.
No, but neither have played out their natural games when they had the opportunity to do so. That mentality sticks and stays. Kohli especially has got himself into a 'backseat' role this world cup. That's not the role a prolific Kohli is expected to play. What do you mean? Rohit and Kohli should have got out early in previous games to give exposure to middle order?
Less than 200 needed now..
Does anyone know the D/L totals if it rains? Looked like there are some clouds around.
Oh yeah.. 10 between those 2.. forgot.Neesham?
They did finish top of the league. This is, unfortunately, a knockout game. The format should be like IPL. Team finishing top should be getting 2 chances in the Semis. New Zealand just made it to Semis on run rate. All true. Just think you don't fluke winning a tournament in a format like this.

Might as well just give them the World Cup hey? Let’s forget the fact that knockout sport brings its own challenges... ridiculous comment.
Yeah.. looks like we are well behind at this stage.Provided the calculator I'm using is right at 20 overs:
If India are 4 down they need 90
If India are 5 down they need 122
If India are 6 down they need 156
Hmmm, that's some strange logicDamn, this would be an upset. A country of 4.8m slaying a cricket mad country of 1.3bn.

If you've followed sports closely random teams can win knockout games. Best teams win League competitions.

Everyone seems to like the the IPL's format, but as a neutral I've never been a fan. Nothing worse than seeing the teams in the first qualifier playing each other in the final again via the second qualifier route.
It is fairer and I can see those with a dog in the fight like it, but I'm glad we're not using it here. My question is more whether the round robin format itself is the most suitable. But we all know it was designed to guarantee a minimum of 9 India matches rather than for actual cricketing reasons.
India's top three made 111. Oh no wait, I meant 1, 1, 1.
