ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Would you make any changes?

Depends on the pitch. If it has as much rough as the other one from the last match, then Jadeja for Shankar, play at 7. Otherwise unchanged.

Everyone hates Shankar - and perhaps the world cup is not the right place to blood him - but I'd give him one more at least. I feel sorry for him for the pressure he is under - see Pietersen's tweet from earlier today..

I believed that for the first over he bowled, maybe he just wanted the glory. But then bringing himself back for the last over after that disaster with spinning options left, and then bowling full tosses and missing a run-out? Not having it. Deeply suspicious.

At best its the worst captaincy i've ever seen.

Dwayne Bravo does this for us in our regional T20 competition all the time. Bowls himself in the death when there are better bowlers available. It’s cost us more than a few matches over the years. I must be so accustomed to it that I don’t find a captain howling himself in the last over suspicious

Was thinking the same, that was excellent over and the batters struggled to get him away.

He's also a pretty handy bowler. His bowling average is actually quite close to Nabi.

If Gulbadin hadn't fixed the match then he's a clear moron.

Hope we lose tomorrow, and then it rains in Pak vs Bangladesh and NZ vs England

The pitch has hundred percent changed. Regarding Shankar it's clear he's a decent batsman but he failed three times consecutively and two of them included West Indies and Afghanistan. Pant should play imo.

In general though it's not about fixing, he is just a very bad captain. During almost every game he has this habit of bringing himself on at random times , I guess part of it comes from playing a lot against weaker teams where his bowling might work but against any WC team he has no chance to do anything with his medium pace rubbish

You needed a six to be won over? :D
To be fair that 6 won Pakistan the game, changed the momentum in right into Paks favour. He won Pak the game imo.

Bangladesh have to beat India and Pakistan. As much as I like their enthusiasm...I just can't see it.

Bangladesh have a better NRR than Pakistan so as long as they don’t get thumped by India, could still make it by beating Pakistan.

I think Pakistan have this in the bag though.

Edit - tied on table is done on head to head first

Terrible decision to bowl gulbadin. Knew it'll backfire. There was plenty of overs left for the spinners. Awful decision. Pakistan had a lot of catching up to do. Result means England face going out more likely as I can't see them beating india tomorrow.

#4?

Rahul looked better at 4 honestly - I don't know if Pant can open.

You could strike the first one down to inexperience, ego or the occasion getting the better of him.

But after getting smashed for 16 and needed to keep them under 6 off the final over, going again himself at the last is deeply suspicious.

But who would pay gulbadin to throw a match. Hes useless anyway.

Cricket is such a game. Inexperience and taking pressure can make you look like a real numpty.

I'm not talking about the lack of skill of the bowler. On a very slow pitch when you've a very handy spinner who has a 32 average in ODI and has two overs and has bowled well, then it's a very fishy decision.

Pant opening will be amazing tbh. He could get out quickly or take the match away in first overs but it's not going to happen.

Behrendoff looks absolute class.

I am assuming the people who think that believe that partway during the run chase(since nobody expected pakistan to struggle) somebody called him and paid him off, the mental gymnastics needed to believe that is mental and requires a certain level of intellect.

Spinners can easily get slogged in the last over. If he was throwing the game wouldnt he bring himself on earlier, leak a bunch of runs and then bring on a spinner? This was there was a risk Afghanistan bowled Pakistan all out before he even got a chance.

Anyway it was just a bad decision.

The perfect decision there was with 46 needed off 5 you bowl Rashid or Mujeeb and see if Pakistan want to take a risk . Could have left the decision about his overs to later

Probably. Worked out incredibly for you lot. Imad was looking clueless there.

Who's Basit Ali? And why does he matter right now?
Ex Pakistan cricketer, who suggests that India would lose their matches to ensure Pakistan don't qualify, and in fact tried to do the same against Afghanistan.

Oh. That's nice.

Another reason I dont think it was fixed is becuase Afghanistan could have easily won if umpires were better. Imad also got very lucky.

That's kinda their fault for using the reviews early.

Inexperience.

What's the need of this tweet? Could get himself banned here. Idiot.

Fixed for you.
Na it was Rashid's over which sealed the deal.

I know it's hard to take but Pakistan made a meal of it but won it in the end.
