ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

I really excited for this morning's game, I hope to God that it's not a washout.

Did you guys know that the last proper odi between Bangladesh and Australia was 2011? We've had an abandoned match in 2015 and a no result in 2017 since then.

Clear all day

Dhawan going out could damage us more than we may anticipate. KL Rahul doesn't fill me with the same confidence at the top and our top order was supposed to be the pillar for our batting order.

Day 22: Australia vs Bangladesh
reading about the pitch, I think Aussies should play Nathan Lyon today.

Would be brilliant to see Australia taken down today. Can't see it happening but here's hoping.

These two teams should know each other in and out by now considering the crazy amount of times they've met in recent years.

At Trent Bridge this could be absolutely bloody murder from the Aussies today.

Which Warner is on the crease today?
Warner vs India or Warner vs Pakistan?

Good start by Aussies, similar to us they are quite reliant on their top order. A bowling like ours or even the kiwis would want to make early inroads and can easily dominate that aussie middle order.

For me this is the Aussies' best batting line-up but Khawaja's vulnerable if he isn't allowed to play himself in, Maxwell you can get playing risky big shots then you're into the lower middle.

Not really, their late middle order has already won them a game going from 30/4 to 290. It's a solid batting lineup, they've just failed to click in the death overs on a couple of occasions.

I think this is their best line up as well, but slightly unbalanced, perhaps due to Dave and Smith being absent and now they have to re-accommodate them. Khwaja was doing well as an opener, before Warner came back. His scores are 104, 91, 100, 24, 88, 0, 62, 98 in the games leading up to the WC vs Ind and Pak. Since then 15, 13, 42, 18, 10. Playing him low down the order is a waste of a player like him. Don't really rate Stoinis very high with the bat as well.

If they are put into a 300+ chase against a bowling like ours or kiwis, they would be in a problem. We have already beaten them after putting up 350. They need to bat first especially against a team like England, and use their opening bowlers to attack a team with high RRR.

It was against WI though, who made Bangladesh look like they'd score 400, so I wouldn't draw many conclusions based on that game. I think when under pressure, that middle to lower order can easily fault a high scoring chase.

Indeed, Khawaja feels like a shoehorn at this WC. He's a good batsman but takes far too long to get going to be any further down the order than one down (did he come in at six the other day?:wenger:). However even now when he's in at three you could argue Smith should go to join Warner to maintain the R-L partnership. Warner's return really seems to have fecked Khawaja, he seems to look a square peg every innings recently.

You've got to wonder what score England or India would have now, on this pitch against this attack.

I don't see much wrong with any of the teams plans . Australia & India are both very confident in their bowling and want to get to a safe score to win , England on the other hand feel that their bowling is slightly susceptible and needs the extra runs so they push a bit harder . On the odd day any of these teams could have the plan backfire on them but overall based on team composition they are following the right strategy

I think Warner's supposed dip in form was overrated. Was superb in the IPL and so far he has got a very good knock against Pakistan and Afghanistan. Only really circumspect against India but they have the best bowling attack in the tournament.

Agreed. He’s a fecking class player and one match against the best bowling in the tournament doesn’t change that. Going into the tournament I said that if Warner and Smith can find form, which they both definitely have, then I can see Australia going all the way, and I’m standing by that.

The semifinals of the tournament should be Aus-Eng and Ind-NZ.

Aus-Ind and Eng-NZ would be more fun.

Absolutely horrible over by Mustafizur.

I really hope the Semi Finals and the finals live up to their expectations, otherwise this may very well be one of the most boring WC's.

Might be a good idea to not bowl full tosses here.
