Dravid was our best batsman at the last Champions Trophy in South Africa and still got dropped. The selectors just didn't like him.
I think it's important to keep wickets in hand though. So many gaps in the pitch and with 50 or 60 to get in the last 10 with 6 wickets in hand it should be pretty simple. So I'd reckon the aim has to be to stay there and just move along at 5 an over. There will be poor deliveries to get the odd boundary from.
Where do I say what position I want to play him in ? In place, not in his position. He would obviously be slotted up the order.
You really need to wind up the clock a bit and watch Sachin. As much as I admire him, he was completely out of sorts for considerable spells after the '03 WC. He did not dominate anything, whatever the reason, chappell, injuries etc. I never said India as team regrets it, the batting being the best in the world ATM proves it, but thats just my personal choice, I dont like players like Pathan or Raina, hit/miss with their suspect techniques. I'd rather have a Dravid like player instead of them.
With Dravid it's not just his scoring rate which would be a problem for the team and his fellow batsmen - his fielding would also weaken the team.
What? He used to be brilliant in the slips!

Only sloppy batting would get a wicket.
want to swap taglines nostradamus ?
Shocker. I am sure we will try our best to throw it away
Injuries. You don't drop the best batsman in the world because he's facing some injury issues. Fair enough that's your opinion but I disagree. I think there's a lot of talent coming through and I like seeing it getting a chance. Dravid always got a slightly rougher treatment because he wasn't as explosive but that's how the one day game is and we've benefitted from that. And I think concentrating on one format would have helped his test game where he's really his most useful.
This partnership is huge. Put a 50 run stand together and we're totally in command.
This. Another wicket falls before 200 and we're goners. Hope Raina, Dhoni and co have their heads on straight.
Fair enough. We just differ in opinion.
@wr8, you really dont want to start that debate, do you ?
Why are all the Indians so pessimistic? This is by far the worst Australian bowling lineup for the last 15 odd years.
You'll win this at a canter.

Don't understand the point of Krezja. He just un does all the hard work of other bowlers.
We've collapsed far too often in this tournament for me to be too optimistic.
