At least when you bat first, you are not really under pressure from the first delivery. You can play your natural game.
But when you bat second, you are under pressure from ball one and you cannot play your natural game. When you are chasing, the target is always on your mind.

Nope, again, that has been the problem with India this WC. Not sure how much they can defend, trying to get too much and going out cheaply in that pursuit.
Precisely why it should help them, knowing what they have to get, so the innings has some framework around it instead of shooting arrows in the dark. Its when you're chasing a big total batting second when its a problem, if its a decent total, then it should help the batsmen.
They are starting to settle nicely, especially Watson. We need a wicket soon.

wanted a view from an indian fan from india to give me the logic on why yusuf has been dropped today. this is his home ground, raina not best of short pitched bowling against lee, tait and johnson i would expect that so why drop yusuf today, plus yusuf does bowl at a decent econony rate.
Because he's been poor in the tournament and Raina is less of a 'slogger'. We're playing safe.
Yusuf can not play short pitched stuff as well or for that matter any competent bowler.
Raina's a better batsman, fielder and really not a bad bowler himself. Besides Yuvraj can take the spot of 5th bowler competently.

thats true but if we are chasing a big score to have someone like yusuf is important. I think our selection of his batting order has not been the best as well and his world cup could be over as very hard to get back in and if our batting does collapse we know he can do the job but anyways lets just hope the team we have selected get the job done.

He was under no pressure then because it was already a very long shot we could win that match. He normally excels then because he can throw his bat at everything then. He is simply never going to be a consistent performer for us. Raina is going to be when and if he corrects his technique against the short ball.

Yusuf Pathan has won games for us on hiw own back plus another thing you play someone one game at number 5, next game 6, next game 6, then 3 etc... is just stupid, no wonder they will fail. All am saying we know our bowling attack is not the best and if we are going to chase anything over 250 + Pathan can win the game for us with ease.

And he will suit Australia because of the bounce he generates and the lack of movement. And he's started pathetically. His length is too short and his line is all over the place.
