ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

That's got today off to a flying start... come on United now!

Shaky start for Ireland but that wicket will settle some nerves.

India 9-1 from 7 balls.

Almost got Dhoni, Irish need to break this partnership, but India should win from this position.

Just came home. Was at the match. Great match. Didn't enjoy it too much as I was in one of the corporate boxes and couldn't even hear the atmosphere outside. The match itself was fantastic.

Went to my friend's place after that to catch India's innings. Did it comfortably enough.

Why is Anderson not bowling? He took a wicket off his last bowl FFS!

Yes, I thought Strauss had a shocker today. They won, but not because of his tactics. He persisted with Yardy and Pietersen when he could've gotten overs outo f his other bowlers. Yardy and Pietersen were the bowlers with the two highest economy rates.

Anderson was class. As was Swann.

Steyn's a bit of a cnut. There were lots of people, including little kids, waving at him whenever he turned our side and he never once acknowledged them.

The SA team's intensity while fielding is really something else when watching live.

Wait, I thought you couldn't bring players into the squad once the WC started?

You can if a player gets injured and you seek medical dispensation. Bollinger is genuinely injured, and not the toupee crap I posted :lol:

Ah ok, definitely makes their batting line-up a lot stronger and gives them a person who plays spin very well.

Lets just hope Tamim is not made captain and likely jeopardise his batting.

well the media are cnuts anyways. doesn't matter which country they're from since they're all the same.

KP will be a big loss, he and Strauss looked very good as the opening pair. I wouldn't want to see Prior opening, maybe push Bell up the order?

Actually think that strengthens the side, put Bopara up front and Morgan in at five, lose Yardy and we've got a team.

When his minds on the job KP is the best around - I can't see how him not being in the team can possibly strengthen the team.

Yardy and Collingwood should be nowhere near the team.

Dont understand the fascination with Yardy. Comes across as a village club player and has yet to make any significant contribution with ball or bat despite many opportunities so far.

I agree. Problem now is that with no Yardy, Collingwood and Pieterson (all effective ODI all rounders), it makes England's team become very 2-dimensional and have a very long tail.

Do Bopara or Morgan have any ability whatsoever in bowling?

Bhopara bowls for his county. He lacks variety and likely he'd only do well on spinning wickets.

Ravi has more first class wickets than Michael Beer, so he's a decent bowler, wouldn't like to rely on him still.

Tonight 4 local channels and two newspapers, edited his post match interview after the Ireland match to make it sound like it was after the WI debacle...and went to air with it.

Par for the course for Bangladeshi tabloids to do things like that though. I remember when they showed a picture of Shakib bending down to say hello to a seated BCB president, and then printed a story about how the picture was showing him being forced to get on his knees and apologise.

They're a fecking parody. To be fair, they wouldn't exist if people were a bit more discerning.
