ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

Even worse. 'Indi' to mean 'independent'.

Explaining the reason behind the name, the Kochi franhise said: "'INDI' stands for an independent Indian cricket team that will go ahead to win a billion hearts. 'COMMANDOS' stands for an elite fighting squad, renown for attacking with speed, stealth and deadly power."

A laughing smiley just doesn't do that justice.

I hope they lose all their matches just for that.

They'll lose all their matches because apart from picking the worst team name possible, they've also picked the worst players possible. Their bowling attack has RP Singh, Sreesanth, Vinay Kumar, Ramesh Powar. They also signed Laxman. For T20. Geoff Lawson on a pisstake.

I'm quite surprised at Steyne's record in one day cricket. For someone who bowls in conditions that suit him, his average is quite poor for someone of his ability.

Was going through Donald's statistics. Amazing stuff. One of my favorite bowlers growing up.

Very poor captaincy from Smith. Took off Piterson when he was unplayable and allowed England to foster a partnership. Had a chance to bundle out English for a real low score if he had gambled on Pieterson bowling his quota up top.

Also shocking that English have come to a WC in sub-continent with only one spinner.

shocked with the scoreline, everyknew that south africa would be faves tonight but i thought England might have upped their performance against South Africa. Got that wrong.

India have won toss and name an unchanged side also decided to field first

hoping to see a good bowling performance by India today, instead of the normal dolly bowling India have bowled in the last two matches and we have dropped one already, but next ball bowled.

another edge just wide of yusuf, khan bowling really well and the next ball edged to dhoni and gone. Khan bowling really well. Lovely swing bowling.

yusuf pathan has come into the attack not too sure why this early but a nice first ball.

swann gets the breakthrough, swann bowling well but rest have been poor so far

i wouldnt say they are rubbish but i do think on flat pitches their bowling attack has always been poor

I've said it before as well, sending KP to open is as stupid an idea as it gets.

his first three games have not been badm he has always made starts but not completed the job. i can see why they have opened with him but not working to plan

England have got another one Broad, is there still something in thiat match

He'd be better off coming in the middle to stabilize the innings, milking and going for broke at the end. He's probably the best player of spin in the team and you need some steel in the middle.

Thats true as well, but i think England will stick with him at top throughout the whole world cup and they wont change, so for England he needs to sort it out

Ireland going along very slowly, scared of losing more wickets I think. Hopefully we can get a reasonable total of about 180 and then pick up a few Indian wickets in the chase. Today's not our match.

yeah you guys are going slow but the first two wickets would of slowed down the run rate m however this is a nice little partnership. H Singh not getting loads of spin, i would go for yusuf pathan again

Yep. I just cant get the idea of the two best batsmen opening the innings when 1. One of them is not used to it. 2. Ball is more likely to do something at the start. 3. You dont experiment at the WC, you stick with what works.
Alas, they do seem like they want to stick with it.

On a completely unrelated note though, AB De Villiers has really evolved into a class act.

I do think Trott and Bell coming at 3 and 4 are not players but like today if you lose both your top 2 early its hard to bounce let alone losing it in the first over.

AB De Villiers i think has always been a quality player but receently before the world cup he was not getting the best scores but turning it on here in the world up and in some style.
