ICC Champions Trophy

No doubt.

Sanga did not single out players after the NZ game. He just said the fielding was not up to standard. Compare that with what Dhoni said after India lost to the Paks.

Who is the consummate pro?

You're a complete idiot.

Great game by Pakistan. Wish he'd gone with Gul instead of Ajmal in the 48th over. Brilliant by Rana, though.

Never write them off.

They will still smash us.

That's because England aren't great either. Anyhow, NZ are gay, always have been. But Pavan's probably right, Pakistan look the best bet. They'll beat NZ no doubt, but anything's possible in the final. T

Probably. Teams that struggle to qualify always win these types of tournos.

Yep, I've always maintained that whomever qualified out of India or Australia today would win because they'll be hardened through the brinkmanship. I really hope England get their revenge on Australia, but can't see Aussies messing this tourney up now.

On a sidenote, I have lots of Indian friends in London (mainly because I work in IT and we have an outsourcing policy) and not one of them is anything but a thoroughly nice chap. So I genuinely feel for them. Sarcarsm and rivalry aside, bad luck India.

The intellectual giant in our midst. Howdy, Professori?

Thank God the Paks tried their best. Else, you would have screamed "Foul". "Match fixed".

Good batting pitch this, really not the start we wanted here.

Had three changes forced upon is the end too which was hardly ideal. Bresnan in for Sidebottom, a virus of some sort that is doing the rounds apparently.

Catches win Matches.

That's what is making Australia gain the upper hand in this current game.

Morgan gone as i type, bowled by Watson.

England are making a mess of things on a very good batting pitch.

258 is a much better target than i expected us to get.

An early wicket from Onions too but that does bring Ponting out of course.

Bloody brilliant from Ponting and Watson. Crush England out of the Tournament.

Are they back to dominate again? Hope not..:nervous:

England took bowling lessons from the Indians or what?

NZ 116-3.

Need another 120 to win. Tough task considering Pakistan's bowling.
I'd take the power play now to get them within striking distance. Teams waste the batting power play so many times.

Ross Taylor needs to do something special here..

Younis Khan has to be the worst captain in world cricket, he really is clueless. The umpires were a bit dodgy today I thought.

Wow. City won the Zenith Data back in the 80s. They've always been pointless barring Richard Hadlee and Martin Crowe.

What is your point?

If you think NZ are pointless then i could say the same about England never winning anything either.

It's unbelievable how England never won the World-cup when they apparantly discovered the game of Cricket.

Everything else in Cricket seems irrelevant to me, aside from the Ashes.

Apparently? England is the home of cricket. Lord's, Old Trafford, Oval et al steeped in history. From WG Grace to the current era. . .from Bodyline to the last Ashes. There is just so much history and tradition involved with English cricket. NZ doesn't compare. . .nor does India for that matter. But I'm not surprised that the two tournos you mentioned were a part of one day game. . . mickey mouse cricket, mate. NZ are and will always been pointless. Watched the game for three decades now. . .and that fact has never changed.

I have no idea why you're even debating this.

You sound like a Liverpool supporter there, no one is denying your history. But, it is simply wrong to accuse a team's status in the International game when they have earned their right as much as any other team to represent themselves on a global stage.

The fact of the matter stands, sure Ashes is the most renouned Test series in the cricketing world but it doesn't test you against all of what the opposition can throw at you in a short space of time.

I wasn't really arguing about Test or One-day format of cricket in the first place anyway. Just making my point that if England are bieng represented on a global stage, then New Zeland have every right to be in the game.

Yes, but NZ have always been pointless. . .and nothing has changed, that's all I've said. I say the same about clubs like Boro - I'm not questioning WHY they're allowed test status, of course not. You've clearly got the wrong end of the bat.
