ICC Champions Trophy

England've got themselves a very good score here...
320 with an over to go

Wow.

NZ are hammering SL. Fantastic group.

I know, I was going to put money down on a certain SA and Sri L to go through without any trouble. Its going to be the exact opposite if England go on to win tonight! :wenger: :D

Come on England.

Shaping up to be a very good finish..
need 148 from 17 overs with 8 wickets.. Smith dropped in the last over by Shah.

What happens if teams finish level on pts? Do they check NRR or head to head?

It was.

Why did Strauss not allow Smith to have a runner?

It was nice of Strauss to compensate for that by giving Broad the ball, though

Great win for England never epxected that but saying thatStrauss should of given smith a runner.

Come on India don't let us down today. The boling attack looks so weak without Zaheer Khan. Ishant Sharma is no one day bowler and Nehra aint all that. R P Singh ahead of Irfan Pathan is a poor choice. Looks like India will be going with 5 bowlers toady and Y Pathan might miss out. Big RISK that might be.

Interesting. If England beat NZ, then there will be three teams, SA, SL, and NZ with one match won, and two lost. So on head to head, NZ will be in the semis. But if NRR is taken as a first option, who will get through? Any statisticians on board?

S Africa are out as their net run rate is the worst and cant get any better. If new Zealand lose Sri Lanka would go through as their net run rate is better then New Zealands and a defeat to New Zealand would make theirs worser.

So if i have worked it out correct New Zealand need a win or a tie to go through. If game was rained off New Zealand would go through i think.

Strauss should of let him him have a runner. England took of Shah as he was not doing well on the field isn't that not right. Happy to see Africa not make a big deal out of it though.

Broad is not as good as all the hype he gets but one bolwer he just seems to continue to impress Anderson.

It was the umpires that refused the runner not Strauss.

As for Broad I think he will be a great player some day but we've all been through this in many other threads over the year.

I thought the umpires were not keen but strauss had an option. Broad we will just have to wait and see.

No chance.

For us to qualify, we need Pakistan to beat Australia, us to beat Windies and then we'll be tied on points.. after which NRR will be considered.

What a twist. The Indian Board was reported to have tried its best to isolate Pakistan cricket. Now they want the Paks to save their skin.

Come on Indian fans, you should know the words by now:

PAKISTAN, ZINDABAD!

:)

Just like Sri Lanka need England to save theirs. Sri Lankans who concentrate only on their game, never come in ads and are consummate professionals. Going out, unfortunately..

over my dead body.

in fairness the tournament is a farce and is full of shit. India bats only once and is out of the tournament ? feck off.

Can i just flag up Vetorri for the sportsmanship he showed toward Collingwood earlier, all the more felt after the controversy of a couple of years back i expect.

It resolved sportingly with a handshake, not sure about the whole thing though. The umpire had called the over, what was all that about?

I was watching live (bored today, I can't stand one day cricket any more really) and it was a good 5 minutes odd to make the decision. Sporting, for me, would have been to dismiss the incident almost immediately

I wasn't watching myself but heard of it via updates. My reaction at the time was that although as you say an immediate decision would shown the fairer side of things in its truest sense, that the keeper seemd carry most of the blame for matters.

There possibly was some needle there but at least we got there in the end.

I am wondering if TMS is going to be covering the Semi Final and Final if we continue this meteoric rise of ours, it provdes you with a mobility when following the cricket.

Of course we could end up getting the Aussies and then...well, we might have a problem.

No doubt.

Sanga did not single out players after the NZ game. He just said the fielding was not up to standard. Compare that with what Dhoni said after India lost to the Paks.

Who is the consummate pro?

you're not a good wum.

so run along now!

 You almost sounded old enough to be my son for a moment.

India skittling out West Indies - 29 / 3 now. Jolly good showing India. Keep the faith.
