ICC Champions Trophy 2017

So will Pakistan collapse to a humiliating defeat in the semi-final or the final? Our boys never lose respectably - no; it has to be a real shit shower raining down on the optimism of the Pakistani public.

In this instance, it would not be Pakistan's fault to collapse to a 'humiliating defeat' as they simply don't have the quality of players to seriously compete at semi-final level. I think they have done very very well to have made it to the last 4, but they are now seriously punching above their weight.

It's a real shame to see Pakistan cricket decline so dramatically. I grew up watching the great teams led by Imran Khan and Javed Miandad and later Wasim and Waqar and idolised that generation. They could beat anyone in then the world in those days. A far cry from that nowadays, abit like Man United 2016 vs 1999 and 2008!

Pakistan of 99 broke my heart. Never been the same since.

That was a beautiful side, probably the best 11 you guys ever put together.

See people would argue for the 96 team with Imran Khan and Miandad but I was too young to remember them. The 99 team scarred me for life. All that talent, all that unprofessionalism.

Waqar wasim shuaib and saqlain. The only thing it lacked was a star at number 2 in the batting order. The rest were incredible.

1992 World Cup Winning team was pretty special too!

England.

Pak vs India sounds great but Pakistan are abysmal against India in ICC competitions, you might aswell hand the trophy to India.

I really want Bangladesh to win it, young, fearless, have improved significantly and also the underdog.

How are you neutral if you are from England. Support England FFS

Meh England will probably win the thing and I wouldn't be dissappointed. But this could be Bangladesh's SL 96 moment, and the birth of another great cricket nation.

Imran Khan retired after 1992 IIRC.

The 99 team was great, except for Wajatullah Wasti opening with Saeed Anwar lol. Who the feck was that guy?

Yeah he was the only weak player in that team, but tbf he did score 80 odd in the Semi against NZ.

Think he was forced out due to whistle-blowing on the match-fixing other players were partaking in.

That's what broke my heart. And breaks it now in a repeating hellish scenario.

We'll beat England but lose in the final.

England should win comfortably. Pakistan should be able to play with freedom & without pressure, nobody expects us to win!

I hope the batsmen show more effort & fight today. Apart from 10-15 overs against India, the bowlers have been very good but it's the batting which has disappointed. Don't expect that to change today, but one can hope.

Yeah that was pretty much an achievement in itself.

Hmmm, interesting. Wahab Riaz will play in the final if (more likely when) we get there.

 What did you do?

 The cnut is fair and easy on players who give him interviews but creates a negative narrative through his site against players who don't (Akhtar/Afridi/Shehzad over the years).

The blind sheep on PP just believe what he says also.

Ah, right. PP is the cricketing version of RAWK. Just had a quick look, some are even calling Amir's injury 'a ploy'. Shambles of a place.

Took me the longest time to understand what the feck those guys meant with "TTF." I just read it as "tuk tuk fataaka" in my head lol

Horrible place, gone to shit in the last few years. Hope it crashes as a site, love to see that Saj guy in tears with the small bit of relevance he has gone.

That looked plumb in real time. How on earth did Umpire gave it not out?

Ffs Amir :(

Bairstow lucky?? Following on Cricinfo today, not as much fun as watching the actual thing!

I'm glad you see it like that. They still talk about that Junaid Khan's spell to Kohli even right now, jesus.

Naser just called Rameez Raja "Rambo". Somewhere Stallone just died.

They all call him that, it's not something new. Funny though
