After reading all the posts over the last few months about how Ibrahimovic is somehow a mixture of Maradonna,Best,Pele and every other great of the game, will those same myopic geniuses now accept that he is no more than average at best?

Ibrahimovic is a disgrace, i'm through with him. He'll never perform when it matters, he's turned 27 now and his career will basically consist of hammering the medium and bottling it against the good ones. Such a waste of talent, he just doesn't have the mentality to be a match winner when it really counts. He's not cut out for the stress of european football.

I hope you're wumming, he was good yesterday, didn't get to see much of the ball but looked a threat when he did. He's an extremely talented player, can produce something magical out of nothing. I'd go as far as to say that Berbatov is a poor man's Ibrahimovic and Berbatov is a darn good player imo.
 
People were saying he was shit hot before the game.

Ive never rated him but he actually done some nice stuff last night, the feet are amazingly quick, and his control was ace. Bit of a beast too, my opinions have actually went up of him.

That's completely ridiculous.

I've always thought he was overrated but people claiming he's no more than an average player are idiots. You on the other hand are pathetic, wasn't it you who was lauding this guy up on here not that long ago?

is he that talented though? Every time ronaldo got the ball yesterday he was frightening inter players, in the air he was a beast and always a threat shooting from any angle. Ibrahimovic seemed a good player but not of the same level if talent of ronaldo who can turn games in an instant and everyone fears his a ability.

Not many people are more talented than Ronaldo, so I don't really see your point. Ibrahimovic is certainly one of the most naturally gifted players playing today, he just hasn't shown it when it counts.

And I'm by no means a fan of Ibrahimovic.

He only showed himself to be a fairly decent player last night when he dropped off to the wing and was up against a positionally unaware John O'Shea. Before Jose moved him out to the left for the beginning of the second half, he was pretty invisible. And he was fookin lazy as well, don't think him or Adriano crossed into our half once. Made Berbatov look like a marathon runner

No he has great talent, but he runs his mouth and doesnt deliver. I've seen him do things no other player in the world does but he doesn't do it when it matters. If he did he could claim to be the best in the world but he doesn't so he isn't and never will be because he doesn't do it when it counts.

I have lauded him, he's a joy to watch when the opposition arn't of top quality, when they are he fails and that's his downfall. I can admit that, it annoys me but i'll admit it. I am pathetic for being able to acknowledge the truth, i am pathetic for having an opinion, i am pathetic for many reasons no doubt.

It's not the fact that you rate him, or not for that matter, it's the fact that you sing his praises one minute and after a mediocre performance against the Champions of Europe you call him a disgrace? That's a kneejerk reaction if ever I saw one.

He doesn't do it in the big games, i've been waiting and waiting for him to prove it in a game of great improtance against a great team and he hasn't. He's talked himself and been talked up. I've talked him up but there comes a point when a player constantly lets himself down when it matters when you have to accept he isn't the player you thought he was.

I've seen it too many times and i can admit when i'm wrong, nobody would be more surprised if he made an impact at old trafford. He's still a special player, but he'll never do it in europe which means he'll never be a great player. I'll still take pleasure watching him domestically though.

Fair enough. Pretty much sums up how I feel about him, on his day he's capable of greatness, but so far he's only shown it against teams like Chievo and Reggina.

But I suppose people were saying that about Ronaldo before he won the Champions League last year becoming the top scorer in the process.

Well said, i mean Torres hasnt turned up against us when we've played Liverpool and the same goes for a few other strikers. Our defence is just that good that they kept him under-wraps. I wont call him average because hes not but as many have said he does fail to turn up for the big games and thats not just yesterday, im talking about big games he went missing in while playing for Ajax and Inter (ie the Ac Milan derby)

When he has quiet games in every knockout stage of every competition he's been in it says something. Never scored in the champions league knockout stages (touch wood), never scored in the knockout stages of an international tournament, and has only scored over 20 goals in a season in 2 of his 12 seasons as a pro.

You also need the breaks in these games and he isn't getting any. His assists arn't being converted and the time he did get in behind it was flagged offside. (wrongfully)

ALso struck a freekick which hit evans and United got a goal kick. It just wont happen for him.

I was worried for a second at that point before the whistle blew, chested it down brilliantly.

I thought is was going to be one of those moments when, after commenting on how quiet a player has been, they pop up and punish you.

He did bring it down wonderfully but it was the only time he got in behind all game. Also before the whistle i thought he would miss.
