I see the allegations of cheating have started.

HGH is dedectible only within 24 hours of taking it. The only way to catch in out is out of competition testing. How many out of competition testing do the Jmaican doping athorities do?

It is my understanding that there is no independant anti-doping agency in Jamaica to do any testing of the athletes.

Jamaicans are fast because its in their blood line. Ben Johnson, Linford Christie and many other sprinters were either born in Jamaica or have Jamaican parents/grandparents.

Both were on the juice, man.

I think its safe to say nearly all sprinters dabble with some sort of performance or training enhancing drugs. Fact remains that sprinters connected with Jamaica are very often very quick.

In other sports eg diving where "flexibility" is a factor people at the age of 14 are allowed to compete and aren't even finishing that high up eg Tom Daily.

There is a reason for that though mate. Before the rule was in place gymnastics was sometimes dominated by very young competitors, which led to them being trained too hard at a young age to compete so a limit was put in place. If we forget the training/cruelty issue, its clear that younger competitors had an advantage as they dominated the events. This led to problems so limits were introduced. Clearly younger people have an advantage which is not seen in diving as diving is not much easier for younger people.

This shows that if these girls are underage, they are unfairly gaining an advantage. Its cheating, simple as that.

Maybe not run by Jamaica, but here's a quote from Frankie Fredericks, who is nowadays the chairman of the IOC athletes commission:

"The IAAF has a regional programme in the Caribbean for testing and I'm sure that it makes sure that the athletes are tested. In Namibia we had no agency but I was tested all the time. We have to make sure that the top athletes are tested and that there is a level playing field."

According to my research paper on drugs and the Olympics, there is. Seeing as I spoke to the man whos job it was to increase credibility withing the agency, I would firmly believe this.

Thanks for the insight--the problem with many internet-based resources (and the "experts" we run inot several thousand miles from the location in question) is that it is difficult to weed out the inaccurate or outright erroneous information from more reliable sources. My source was from someone nominally connected to Balco, so I should have figured he was already a serial liar. I certainly hope Bolt and the Jamaican relay team efforts were clean, it would do wonders for the image of track.

A head kick could be hard to spot, that's the only reason i can think up of. They should have reviewd the video on the spot mind, just like they should have done extra steps to confirm the winner between Phelps and the Serb, when the difference was only 0.01s.

just because the chinese girl's head snapped back doesn't mean it landed for sure, it could have been her reflexes to try and avoid the blow. Well if she was knocked out cold then im sure Sarah would have won on the spot.

Jesus christ, did you see it??? Man it was impossible not too see it.

What we see is not the same as what the judges saw, from where they were sitting. That's why i said they should have looked at the video and made sure of their decision.

Bump. He and the other Chinese gymnasts have finally been cleared as old enough (16) to compete. No surprise there.

That took them a while to get them a new birth certificate out..
