they could have worked on the ending better
I saw the special today on Sky and both the director and Will Smith mentioned the 'Richard Matheson's' novel, and they said it was based entirely on that.
Watched it yesterday, great movie.

It only had three months to train for the movie as well. Considering the dog was a wild one before and had no prior training for movies, that's a pretty remarkable feat.
I just noticed this, and was wondering if anyone could tell me why this is. Maybe it's a universal symbol for plagues and aids or something, I've only ever seen it in 28 days later and this movie.

I liked the movie and thought Will Smith was surprisingly good and I'm not a big fan of his.
The ending and the massage of the story was very different to the book, and even the title doesn't mean the same as in the book.

He is becoming one hell of an actor: Ali, The Pursuit of Happyness and now this one. He is getting better and better. Maybe it's time for him to play the bad guy now, after saving the world for about 10 times in his last movies.
Brilliant movie, was everything i hoped for and more however a slight change in the story in the ending. In the book the girl he meets is actually from a group of infected people who didnt turn into Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime and didnt want him finding a cure. She is sent to find out what she can about his work before he is captured. She ends up feeling sorry for him and doesnt want to betray him but does anyway. Once he's captured the Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime want to kill him however whilst captured she sneeks in and gives him the chance to end it peacefully himself which he does, end of book.
If you enjoyed the film i would really advise you read the book, its fecking brilliant. Its only short but i couldnt put it down once i started

The only slightly interesting thing was the brief portrayal of Smith's descent into madness. Other than that it was a fairly unremarkable attempt at a zombie film. Which is disappointing is because the source material was the progenitor for much of the cliched fare we get nowadays.
Agreed. A lot of things just didn't make sense and they left too much out to make the film work for me. I reckon the film needed to be a good hour longer to make it work.

Good movie, I ve just seen it. Better then expected. Whoever works in that cinema he put the volume up extremely, it was so loud when those monster bastards were screaming, it made my Orangina freeze.
A few scenes shown in the trailer were completely missing in the movie though. Apart from that the best parts are what they have done to NY, looked very real.

I just saw it on bootleg dvd. I like it. But it ended sooner than I expected. Couldn't have been but maybe 90 minutes long. If it was longer than that it sure didn't seem it.

Nah .. that was just an easter egg that they threw in there because they knew that would get all the fan-boys excited.
