How many players will we sign between now and 1st sept

  • 1, because I am very down to earth

  • 2, because Kevin knows best

  • 3 or more, because thuglife yo.

  • 0, I can't hack the pressure and am being a recalcitrant teenager just because I can

1 most likely, we have to sign a striker, he just might not be a world beater.

Either way it's still been a brilliant transfer window.

None. van Gaal played the "happy with squad" card today.

My magic ball says i need a chicken leg to complete the conjuration for extrapolation of divination through the cauldron of undergarments.

Annnd..closssser....getttting there.... We shall sign 1.6 players.

2.

Heart says Lloris and Muller.

Head says Cillessen and Berahino.

I wouldn't be surprised if we sign no one else but I reckon we will try to sign at least 1 more player.

But signing no one and giving Pereira a chance on the right wing might actually work out... I can't see him getting too many chances otherwise.

1. Either Mane or whoever our next choice is after him (someone like Bolasie or the good Ayew)

Can't see any more coming in, It has gone completely silent regarding us and transfers. I think Lvg is happy with the squad as it is, which would be a huge mistake throughout the season.

People were saying no more signings before we got three in a weekend. Never rule anything out.

The last time we had one of these threads prior to our US summer tour kicking off we signed Darmian, Schweinsteiger, and Schneiderlin. Hoping for at least one, but more likely none.

I think the fact that we missed out on Pedro means one of our bigger targets has given the green light to pursue..

We might make one signing and it could be a big one.. I think DDG will stay and leave for free next year, which is fine by me..

There is also a good chance that if we dont sign that said big name, we will be content with what we have for this year and try again next season..

So it will be one big name or zero players incoming.. I wish it is the former.. Let's see

0. We are probably wasting our time trying to get Muller.

Maybe it's wishful thinking but perhaps our target(s) will become clearer once we have guarenteed CL football. If it's a significant requirement for whoever we're thinking of going after then it likely won't progress until the situation is 100% certain.

2: GK and a very expensive forward. Muppettastic.

Wouldnt be overly surprised if DeGea stays and we dont bring in a GK straight away.

Last season LvG & Wooden Ed secured Blind, Di Maria and Falcao in the last two weeks of a window if I remember correctly.

It's gonna be a muppet fest but in more of a surprise mood. Could be few names outside the media spotlight or one big nothing in a surprise mood also.

Thug life bitches. We need that title.

2. Deadline day deals for Griezmann and Lacazette. You heard it here first!

Unless of course someone has already posted it.

1, 2 if de Gea leaves. 3 would be nice but can't really see that happening right now.

1 totally unexpected signing out of the blue close to dead line day. A squad type player from the premiership. Seriously doubt we will be able to pull of a big name signing so late in the window.

We have 5 points of concern I think, we are testing out a DM as LCB and trying a 20 year old as #10, risky but might come off. Our main striker is past it but given his contract and marketing leverage we'll have to wait to next summer to replace him.

The keeper position will have to be dealt with but hopefully we keep De Gea and wait until next summer, if he goes this summer though we'll have no choice but to buy one which is dodgy so late on.

My vote goes to 1, we really need to address the RWF spot with a pacey attacker who will provide the kind of runs and goal threat Memphis provides on the left.

1. De Gea will leave, but we wont replace him this summer. We will get an attacking player but he wont be the player we need. He'll be a squad player. Perhaps even a loan signing again (with a view to buy). We will inevitably get injuries and will be left short again IMO.

1. Striker

Id also be p***ed if we didnt. Going into the rest of the season with just rooney/chic/wilson? Jesus.

Navas in de gea swap
Griezmann deadline day for less than his buyout clause

Mueller, Bale and Laporte, OK, I am dreaming but that would sure make everyone happy.

Still think everything will kick off for a number of teams in the last day or so of the window and there will be some big additions for a few teams in the Premier at the deadline

I didn't see the option which was 0 as I don't think LVG sees any available players that improve our team immediately option.

Just because I don't see us signing anyone doesn't mean I'm being negative it just means I'm being realistic.

Don't get me wrong if Grizemann or Bale or Muller became available then I'm sure the club would move for them. But I really don't see that happening now given how little time is left before the window closes.

We need a striker as a minimum and if DDG does go then we need a replacement for him also. But I think the club are going to dig their heels in over DDG so a GK probably won't be needed.

Zero players that would stroll into the starting eleven. Perhaps some promising youngster that we still haven't heard of... or that 17 yo norwegian that we just heard of.

One winger and that will be it unless karim benzema becomes available. If he does i 100% expect us to sign him. Winger can be anyone from bale to jefferson montero, you just cannot second guess LVG, all we know right now is-
  • He wants an attacker
  • Such attacker should be very quick and create loads of chances
  • The attacker should score some goals too
  • The attacker should be able to play as an inverted winger, memphis will play as the right footed winger from left cutting inside, So i expect the new winger to be either two footed or dominantly left footed with pace who can cut inside(think robben).
The above are the reason i think he wasnt sure about pedro. Pedro just isnt quick enough, he has good acceleration but not enough pace and the biggest problem is that his best position is already taken by memphis. He likes to cut in from left and make runs behind the defense or dribble inwards from the line and shoot. We already have memphis to do that.Pedro will have same pronblem in chelsea as he will be competing with hazard. Mane makes more sense because he is someone who is very very quick, has more physical presence but the problem persists with him being right footed. Griezmann would be perfect but he wont be cheap, bale would be perfect but he wont come, gaitan plays a similar role but he does not have enough quality and not the pace, Angel di maria did not work out for us, robben wount come and is too old, douglas cost is already at bayern, this messi lad whats he gonna cost? We dont really have enough options here in the position and hence i think we will try and fail for bale once again.

I do hope Karim benzema becomes available, he would be a great addition to us and the club have always liked him. He is a special special player and liberating him from ronaldo and future bale's shadow might make him what he could have been. He is not bad now, but he is the little brother who despite being quite good on his own has to play goalkeeper so two elder brothers can play forward. I dont see any other quality player becoming suddenly available like falcao did last year. Monaco have abdennour who we might have an interest in as he is left footed cb and if we sell evans we might get him, moutinho although is a good player is not required. Ibra might be available, but i doubt he and LVG can stay in same room. Lucas was not taken in the deal for ADM, so we wont go back for him. I dont see a player that can be huge improvement over mata right now. So i think either it ll be a surprise or bale.

0-1 for me, I think that's fairly realistic. Van Gaal seems fairly content with the squad and I can only really see us bringing someone in under 2 circumstances. 1: We sell de Gea and have to quickly replace him. 2: A really special player (who's not named Benzema) comes on the market and is not insanely expensive.

I don't think the second situation will arise, so just the GK if de Gea leaves, otherwise no-one. But personally, I'd love Greizmann :)
