What ever happened to taking photo home and sticking it into a photo album to cherish.
Digital photography, probably.
What ever happened to taking photo home and sticking it into a photo album to cherish.
They go into the metaphysical realm of the icloudWhat ever happened to taking a photo home and sticking it into a photo album to cherish.
I didn't abuse him for going to a memorial, I didn't harass him or send him a bomb threat so direct your concerns to the people who are doing that.
I do think he is a shit player and a shit captain and that going to the memorial is as obvious a pr stunt as imaginable.
I didn't say you did. You did do the rolleyes smiley though, sometimes isn't it just better to say nothing at all?
How is this going to help his PR if you're all so clever to see straight through it anyway?
It's even worse for our own academy players (see any Rashford, Pogba, Lingard thread)Genuinely think the likes of Di Maria and Tevez got less actual abuse than one of our own players. The hatred is really visceral at times.
If you care so little about what he does off the pitch then why are you posting rolleyes smileys about an activity he has done off the pitch? If a couple rolleye smileys triggers you that much, perhaps it's you who needs to grow up.
I'm not his publicist so could give a flying feck about his pr, I am a fan of the football team he plays for though so my only concern when it comes to slabhead is his performance on the pitch when wearing a United shirt.
Football fans are so far and away the worst thing about football. This whole sorry mess just about sums it up, the man went to a memorial and that’s about it, but no somehow that is enough for some to call for the firing squad.Ridiculous isn't it. How do they expect these players to gain confidence again if they get shredded for every single thing they do?
Videos of them training - "Show it on the pitch"
Visiting the memorial, or some charitable event - "PR stunt"
Doing anything non-football related - "Focus on your football"
It's so fecking tiresome. I don't know how these people have the energy.

He's done a good thing, he's captain of Manchester United and left England's camp to travel 15 miles the other side of Munich to visit the memorial. Nobody asked him to do that. Getting on his back for it is ridiculous.

Are you ok ?
Are you ok ?
State of some posters on here
It's not as if the general population does that. What ever happened to taking a photo home and sticking it into a photo album to cherish.
Yep we have an unpleasantly high number of cnutish fans that would be an embarrassment even to the scouse or Chelsea.I agree with that. There are posters who justified Jones getting abused in front of his daughter, it's unreal how fecked up few people thinking is. All the reasons are "he is paid well and he is always injured"

And you have the nerve to call other people childish. Try to keep the thread on topic mod. He’s a proper fan didn’t you know?
Wahhhhhhhhhhhh

I'd take ridiculous optimism over bomb threats and attacking board directors' houses. I guess the fans fit the club at the moment.Last few years has increased my respect for Liverpool fans a lot. They are too optimistic to the point that they are deluded but it's so much better than the toxic nature of this fanbase.
There are few idiots who abuse players at every club but I don't remember the situation like this at any PL club.
At least he's actually doing it. Your complaint is the same as those that say celebrities only engage in charity causes for good PR. In effect, they (or Maguire, in this case) can't win. It's damned if you, damned if you don't in this day and age. Depressing.I didn't abuse him for going to a memorial, I didn't harass him or send him a bomb threat so direct your concerns to the people who are doing that.

Can't bring myself to hate on Maguire. He seems a decent guy and I have a feeling he really wants to do better for the club. I think the captaincy is too much for him but I also think he might go on to have a very good season next season. Like all of our defence, he needs some protection from midfield though. He's not as bad as this season has suggested.
He's doing nothing. Charity has a tangible positive benefit, what slabhead did is only meant to benefit himself. At least he's actually doing it. Both statements can be true at the same time. Him getting over the top abuse, AND that picture being shared by british media being a PR stunt are not mutually exclusive. If this was Pogba noone in the media would share that picture.
I don't see much unreasonable in this opinion. I visited my grandmother's grave last week; I didn't have anyone take a series of pictures of me doing somber poses while I was there.
Yup agreed. It’s likely a PR move and he’s getting over the top criticism for this.
Genuine question, what’s this based on? Aside Maguire, I think fans put too much into people we see for 90 mimutes once, rarely twice a week, & in heavily doctored PR pieces. I don’t rate Maguire the player but I don’t delve into who he is as a person because shouldn’t the focus be on what we see on the pitch. Maybe I’m wrong & you’ve met him but this forum is quick to label players good or bad based on very little information which isn’t good in any walk of life. Can't bring myself to hate on Maguire. I hope you’re not this miserably toxic in real life. He's doing nothing. Charity has a tangible positive benefit, what slabhead did is only meant to benefit himself.
He's literally just engaging with the club's history. That shouldn't be cause to sneer, or to deride him. There's being cynical, then there's this. He's doing nothing. Charity has a tangible positive benefit, what slabhead did is only meant to benefit himself.
Feel free to think it was a genuine attempt at engaging with the clubs history. I think it was a pr stunt and quite a cynical one at that. He's literally just engaging with the club's history. That shouldn't be cause to sneer, or to deride him. There's being cynical, then there's this.
