Hojlund or Zirkzee as first choice striker?

This thread should be updated to Højlund or Chido Obi, as Amorim recently stated that he views Zirkzee as a number 10.

“I think Josh is not a clear nine, he played more as a 10.” noted the 39-year-old in his post-match interview.

“He’s stronger physically, he’s working really hard and he played in a better position for him and he’s improving. He’s winning more duels, he’s even faster, and you feel it in the game.”

Great to hear!

Just a shame we've started playing Zirkzee deeper just as Amad got injured. They could've provided some nice link-up play together.

There’s plenty of reasons to criticise Hojlunds disappointing season but there’s been two occasions this game where he could have been given the ball for an easy tap in and no one has passed it to him. Shocking decision making from Garnacho and Dalot.

Clown Dalot is just awful.

Would you give him the ball?

He's had one pretty decent chance from Dorgu's good cross and he didn't even touch the ball. Any decent striker would escape the defender there but as usual he was late and his legs did some weird stuff and didn't even make a contact with the ball.

Ronaldo would probably score from that situation 5 times out of 10. Probably shot the ball 9 out of ten. Hojlund wasn't even close to touching the ball.

What we have witnessed with Hojlund this year is beyond words. Zirkzee is not PL suitable. Hojlund seems to be not football suitable.

If I hear the mention of Hojlund’s pace one more time!! He’s not fast, he’s not quick, he’s not strong. He might be faster than Zirkzee and that’s about it.

For that offside situation around 70th minute, Hojlund was one meter offside and started running when Zirkzee passed him the ball and after 5 meters defender was still ahead of him despite starting late. That's not lack of confidence, that's lack of any pace and he is showing complete lack of quality when it comes to any attribute needed for a professional football player playing in PL.

We had two opportunities in the first half where we could have played him in for a pass that would have resulted in a pretty easy chance but Garnacho and Dalot decided not to. I've criticized Hojlund a lot and he's been nowhere near good enough but his teammates stupidity at times- especially when our forward NEEDS a fecking goal for his confidence- is just unbelievable.

...in terms of criticism, I have to say though Hojlund's stamina seems to be awful. Always seems to tire very easily.

It's painful and sad to see these two being starters for a club like United. I don't think any players sum up how low the club has sunk as them. Hojlund especially. It's like having Bebe leading our attack with Djemba Djemba behind
