Manchester United are insisting on Lazio's Hernan Crespo, despite the Rome club's reluctance.
Lazio are prepared to offer Juan Pablo Sorin and Claudio Lopez, but United boss Sir Alex Ferguson's priority is Crespo, according to Corriere dello Sport today.

Lazio still owe United almost £10 million from Jaap Stam's transfer last year and are offering their Argie trio in part-exchange for the debt.

The players' representatives jetted out of Spain last night for England to meet with United officials.

I certainly think that we need a striker like Hernan Crespo to partner Nistelrooy at front. He's best at goals with striking partner. We are spoiled with too many midfielders, so offload Veron to Lazio is certainly not a bad idea.

True, but Crespo is really similar to Ruud and Ole..What we need is a creative striker who can feed Ruud. But I think giving up Veron is not in question..It is just how we best use the £10M that they owe us. We have been nice to them and not yet gone to the FIFA unlike Valencia (for Mendieta) and so Lazio better do something otherwise they could be in deeeep trouble

Who would u suggest for a creative striker? I think solely depend on Ruud to get goals is really a tough job for him, although he did good jobs on that. The feeding jobs can be provided by the midfield quarterts, right?

I do agree but it is always useful to have a striker who plays in a more retreated role. If both are out and out strikers, then they could tend to go for the same type of balls. What I mean by someone just behind is in the Erics, Teddy's, and even Yorke roles..That with Ruud will be perfect IMO rather than two pure instinctive strikers

actually not need a striker like crespo do United, brilliant though he is.....a instinctive, unpredictable yet awesomely talented, firebrand striker like PDC is what we truly need in jedi master's opinion......you have been making a few sound comments, young padawan JT.....just don't go messing it all up by saying we can get rid off Veron....take it personally does jedi master when any of the UTD stars are slagged off.....not wise it is to upset jedi master, hmmmmm....do well will you, young padawan to remember this, hmmmmm....ohhh and btw, welcome to the forum....
