Gazzetta dello Sport, (one of) the most serious sport paper(s) in Italy writes that two amongst Hernan Crespo, Claudio Lopez & Juan Pablo Sorin may join United, with Veron heading the other way.

Crespo may probably be a straight swap with JSV, and Lopez or Sorin may be used to reconciliate the outstanding Stam debt.

that wld be good with sorin making sure that silvestre better play well or face being dropped!!! i think crespo is still better than lopez ... hope we get him instead ...
 
The reports here are saying Seba for Crespo +the £10.6 million they still owe us. Lazio must still think they could get £35m for Crespo <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />
 
Veron looked anything but miserable on Sat in that pic showing him and Ferdinand. In fact he looked like he was loving it. I think he goes only if he wants to.

Frankly Veron at United is a surplus... Not only we have Keane, Butt, Giggs, Becks and Scholes, but Veron has not adapted to the British style, and frankly I don't see him doing it anytime soon.

His form last year was abysmal and frustrating. Scholes was also frustrated at not being played at his normal position. Veron doesn't add any value, in fact I could argue his presence has been disruptive.

I'd rather have Crespo and solve the strike problem.

Makes perfect sense to me, unless the Scott's pride comes in the way.

Lazio can go feck themselves, but only after they pay us our Jaap money. If they don't then we should file a complaint with UEFA and take one of their players as compensation.

The Crespo rumour is surely out of order given that the overall price including the money they still owe for Stam equates to over 30 Million. I know the talk is that Veron should be part of that deal but we would then be light on midfield cover. Any one of Butt , Keane , Scholes , Beckham , and especially Giggs is likely to be injured/ suspended at some point in the season. I don,t believe we have any real cover for any one of them, particularly if Veron is allowed to depart.

then it would be time to blood the youngsters, take a risk or two. I don't think Crespo is worth more than 15m in today's market, but Lopez or Sorin is defo a nice option, but has he even played a game yet for Lazio ? This says to me he wouldn't want to leave.

Sorin certainly hasn,t played yet for Lazio and I think we were linked with him before he signed for the Italians. Lopez went to Lazio at the same time as Mendieta and has had a similar impact i.e. not great. You may recall, however, a couple of years back when we played Valencia in the CL. and they reached the final that Lopez looked a really good striker with real pace.

No Crespo + Sorin/Lopez for Veron and outstanding Stam dosh.

Seems interesting and reasonable enough. Sorin is a midfielder who can play as a LB as well, Lopez is very good as a left forward, pacey fecker with a great shot, and Crespo is one of the top 5 strikers in the world, last season notwithstanding.

In either case the deal won't happen if Seba stays here.

i'm pretty sure piojo lopez signed for lazio a year earlier than mendieta did.

and as i said above, he's already transferred to atletico madrid for an undisclosed fee. . .

Veron won't be going back to Lazio !!!!!! HIS COURT CASE IS STILL PENDING !!!!!!!!! He faced possible arrest along with a few LAZIO directors.

Scoring Goals was never our problem, Leting them in WAS. We conceded early goals in matches and we let in sloppy ones.

Veron is a creative Midfielder, other than beckham how may players in his catergory and class do we have ??? Veron will definetly be here for the forth coming season , lets support him and then we will see the best of him !!!

Didn't watch the match but i read that veron didn't perform too badly this weekend ??

yea i went to the match a saw veron play rather well but also still gave the ball away alot

but can you remind me who we were playing and what division there in?

and no i dont want to buy lopez myself but i do have a wider intrest in football than just in england

Furthermore 4-5-1 didn't work for us, did it?

Bring Crespo in, and sorin/lopez and let's return to 4-4-2.

I agree with what people are saying here, in that, we should all get off Sebas' back and let him show us all exactly what he is capable off!!! After all he is quality and lets be honest apart from Becks and the odd flash from Giggsy we really dont have anyone who can open up a defence with one deadly pass in a instant!!! These are the things Ruudy and Ole and Forlan with thrive off, not Keano, Butt and Scholes breaking up play and passing it forward or out wide!!!
 
So if we brought in Lopez/Crespo and Sorin what would our line up be? Replace Ole for Crespo, Sorin for Silvestre and Lopez for who? you must watch very little football, WE play with a full squad thats Rotated, i don't think you thought about injuries ????. Were you not the same person that questioned wether MAnchester united are the Biggest,Richest and most supported club in the world.
Veron is class and if u can't see it then ur blind. IMO the midfield we have, 6 quality players rank amongst the best in the world if not THE BEST. Veron is a PLAYMAKER, thats the reason we bought him.

Our defence let us down last year. IMO they suffered from missing STAM, not to mention Barthez's madness. We had no NO.2 , Fergie was retiring, and players were injured. YOU ARE A FOOL IF U THINK we are gonna trade VERON , this court case is still pending which also involves Directors of LAZIO, relating to VERON's passport scandal. HE IS NOT GOING TO LAZIO.

From the 1st of September 2002 no Italian club will be able to buy any more foreign players, I hope that on this day all Rumours relating to Veron going back to LAZIO will STOP.

Veron's not leaving. He has to prove himself and I'm sure that this season will be very much different from the previous one. I still beleive that there's some spark in this guy. Please give him time. He has a magical feet and we all know that. I'm not protecting anyone but I have a very good feeling, just give him some time... he'll kick arse. <img src="graemlins/angel.gif" border="0" alt="[Angel]" />
