Yeah, I watched the Shakhtar-City game as well and I thought Shakhtar were excellent overall. In general, though, especially Silva, De Bruyne and Silva are very good with possession unlike Mkhi who's generally careless and very inconsistent.
Yip. But you're never going to persuade the Mkh fanboys, who will find a way to back him.... all for backing players but team first, inidviduals second.

He's been poor for ages .... assist stats masked it early season but no longer.

Get over yourself would rather see Martial play. Even an off form Mykytarin over Lingard or a 3 man midfield but not Lingard ffs.
I don't think we'll see Martial and Rashford together before Zlatan is back. Or at least not when Lukaku is starting. I think Jose wants to have a striker on the bench.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan the bottle job is finally getting exposed. He has been dreadful all season but those last min goals/assists have been papering over the cracks of his average performances.

He either dribbles for too long and gets dispossessed and we're getting done on the counter or he attempts a hopeless through ball that is almost always cut out and again the opposition are breaking on us.

He just bottles every key pass and invites pressure. He dribbles when he should release the pass forward early and then when he does attempt the pass, it's cut out.

He gets into key positions and never delivers. When you look at what Kevin de Bruyne is doing every week. key passes, first time, clinical and precision passes that split defences. He is stepping up in big games also which Mkhitaryan has not done at all.

Mkhitaryan scored one goal vs Spurs at home last season that's the only time he stepped up in a big PL game.

In the big matches he just disappears or goes into hiding.

He needs to seriously step up. He is starting to look like a liability and complete luxury player.

Harsh but fair analysis.

If the guy was sold tomorrow I wouldn't care less.

It's harsh. But I honestly thought he would light it up at Utd. He seems to turn it on last 10mins of matches vs the lesser sides but thats not enough for Utd when you consider what KDB is doing he is a million miles from that. We won't win the title unless he steps up and provides a better link for the forwards. He is offering nothing going forward.

I'm not a fan of Ozil anymore, but he'd probably be a big upgrade on Mkhi too.

We need an upgrade on him in the summer no matter what.

He's been IMO poor in almost every game since he's joined with assists/goals masking poor performances.

He'd be a huge upgrade. And himself and Jose have a good relationship. You'd have to think some of his poor performances are due to being in such a demotivating situation as being in that Arsenal squad under that manager with no hope of things improving.

He's a patchy player and mentality has always been an issue for him. There's more pressure on the team overall now, higher expectations that and Pogba being out has hurt his form. A break from the starting 11 would be good for him, but Lingard isn't good enough to replace him so I can see Jose sticking with him.

An upgrade in January ideally if we want to challenge City this season.

Really not bothered if we sell him.

Doesn't impose himself enough in games. Mata is far better.

He wasn’t great at the start of the season but he was effective and had moments. Now he needs dropping.

Yup, I've said it at the start of the season that as long as he's bagging in assists/goals (few as they are), I'm fine with going hot/cold, not really influencing the games. Lately he's been fecking awful though and isn't getting his numbers up, time to bench him.

Jose seems to be sticking with him for some reason. We know he's capable of brilliance, so it's a challenge for the manager to show what he can do here.

Guy is in a free fall. Can't even make simple forward passes anymore.

I can't figure him out. One day he's sliding beautiful passes in and popping up in the hole and the next he bumbling around, misplacing every pass and generally looking like a miserable fecker.

I'm not criticizing Mou given our start to the season but I wonder if the No 10 role is necessary with how he is setting us up away from home.

If he keeps playing like that till January I’d rather recall Pereira and give him games in the 2nd half of the season to prove himself. There’s no chance he could be any worse. Mkhi is stinking up the place right now.

I really had very high hopes for Miki but he has been less than an average footballer of late. I hope he shakes off this slump soon.

Love the guy but I can't defend him now. He should absolutely be dropped, I'd even rather McTominay play.

I've been very critical of Mkhi this season, but Ozil would not be an upgrade. In fact, Mkhi has been reminding me of Ozil lately, and not in a good way. I think we'll almost certainly sign someone new in the summer. Griezmann or Alli would be the calibre of targets I'd be looking at.

It's a joke that Mata hasn't been given a chance to make the position his own, with either Rashford or Lingard on the right which would give the team a better shape and balance anyway. He's just infuriating to watch and light years behind top players like De Bruyne, Silva and Eriksen when it comes to building attacks and decision making.

Mhki has 2 goals and 1 assist in all competitions (525 minutes) since Aug. 27. Mata has 1 goal and zero assists in all competitions (657 minutes) all season. Both play in primary attacking positions. Lingard has 1 goal and 3 assists in all competitions (294 minutes) playing in a primary attacking position.

With Martial likely replacing Rashford on the left at Huddersfield Saturday, I think Lingard in the middle and Mitchell on the right would give United a better chance of breaking down Huddersfield's parked bus.

He needs a rest. Jose should play Mata at CAM and Lingard at RM

I have been really critical of Lingard but I agree 100% with this statement, at least with Jesse and Mata you have consistency most times unlike this guy who plays 1 good game and 9 like crap.

I really wouldn't miss him if he was sold, as someone mentioned before he is a coward physically.

I compared him to Ashley Young when he was bought. He's worst. Youngie at least has a bit of fight in him.

Young would have done better playing behind Lukaku the Prickatarian did last night.

He was absolutely clueless last night.

Can we just play the following front 4 now:

----Martial-----Lukaku-----Rashford----
-----------------Mata--------------------

Mkhi has been so bad recently, it's about time he's dropped to the bench.

I posted this before the match @ Match day thread.

A big question mark for Mkhi now. I mean for Jose.

It's not just the Liverpool game. Since the start of the season, his performance has been bad/mediocre, only to be masked by his stats.

But that said, if he takes off Mkhi and moves Mata to #10 in 4-2-3-1, given that Jose seems very unlikely to play Rashford at RW, Lingard doesn't sound promising either.

I think he will still give Mkhi a few "automatic" starting XI position. Mkhi better starts performing otherwise I believe Jose will definitely replace him or change the system.

For now I will still stick with Mkhi, sadly.

-----------------Lukaku---------------
Rashford--------Mkhi-----------Mata
-----------Matic-------Herrera-------
Young--Smalling--Lindelof--Valencia

One of the worst individual performances I have seen in a United shirt.

I literally gave up on him after 20min. Within the first 20min, IIRC he literally, yes literally, feck up every single ball. After 20min, everytime we attacked I literally hoped he was not involved. Then he feck up the biggest chance of the game by shooting wide.

Can someone please post the last few pages of this thread @ Mkhi's Twitter to let him know how bad he has been lately.

I think now he very likely has half a chance left for "automatic" starting XI position. ie if he plays like this for 45-60 minutes, I am pretty sure Jose will sub him off and strip off his "automatic" starting position.

Young gives you the impression he plays at the max of his capacities, Mkhitaryan is a mystery.

I honestly couldn't believe when he was up for player of the month in August on the Caf. I mean, he had stats but the general content of his games were more or less the same rubbish. Stats are easy to blind people into thinking a player is doing well. Like many have said, he cannot be defended by "assists" anymore.

Terrible first touch and inconsistent technique. Overall a decent player with a few very good qualities. Good squad player to have but we will get nowhere with him in the first team.

I'm surprised people are really going for him after this performance, this in my opinion has been the staple apart from flashes of brilliance. There is not much lower to go, still want to get behind him because he is a talent. I genuinely can't explain why he struggles in tight spaces.

Yea same I said the same thing at the POTM thread. Not only his bad/mediocre performance masked by his stats, but also masked by the overall team's outperformance.

Give Lingard a chance on the right.

Great as much as Mykytarin has been hopeless he still gets assists and goals (we still need better) I just don’t see how starting someone who creates no assists or goals and is as poor in his play is the solution.

He's just not as good as some United fans believed him to be. We are still lacking that consistent playmaker/winger even with Mkhitaryan in the team.
