I highly doubt it. He hasn't played consistently since the chelsea game that was on the 5th of November. That was the 10th week. He started once after that and substituted a few times for 15-20 minutes. How in the feck he was supposed to assist? He only played bad 5 games in the absence of Pogba and you created this whole theory. It is easy to criticize a player if he doesnt play and doesnt get a chance to rectify the situation. Everyone can have a streak of bad games. Yet Mkhi got banished after 3-4 below average performances.

Are you going to start supporting Arsenal now?

Genuine question.

He has had plenty of chances. 18 games without an assist is terrible.

Kagawa didnt play much second season. It was more of a game style thing. Royce and Gundogan were injured a lot and in their absence Mkhi was the attacking leader. The first two seasons were different. He picked up during the third season and was a true leader in a lot of games.
The build up play that Man Utd is playing doesn't suit his style much but its more of an opponent issue. Most teams playing Man Utd park a bus and one needs a creator.
I have accidentally watchedsome of Mkhis highlights from earlier this season or last season. He hasn't done any accelerations, fast linkups for a while now. I wonder if its a tactics issue or the player willing to leave the club issue due to the fallout with the coach. It isn't very hard to piss Jose off.
In 2015/16 season, of 34 Bundesliga games, Kagawa and Mkhi played together in 26 (76%) of them.

Since all the signs point towards Micky's upcoming exit I feel the need to question no one other but Mourinho. In Henrikh's last season in Dortmund he got switched to a right wing position where he's excelled. In 31 Bundesliga games in that season he had recorded 11 goals and 15 assists. Before it in previous position as a central attacking midfielder he wasn't that good. From what I remember he was hugely frustrating and honestly quite shit in 14/15 period. So question is why did we bought him to play as a CAM? I thought he'd figure on the right since we've had and still got a
vacancy right there. Furthermore if Jose had other plans for him that obviously have failed why Micky wasn't tried on the right? He hasn't played even once on the right wing in the PL this season. His only appearance there was away in the CL match against CSKA, which we've won 1:4 with the Armenian on the score sheet. He didn't even get a smallest of sustained spells in what seems to be his best position.

Why had it not happened? It's what made the most sense from the moment we bought him up to the present time when we're about to ship him out.

I'm happy enough with Jose at the helm as of this moment and he's probably the second best manager in the world right now. However his decisions regarding Micky are simply incomprehensible?

He did play on the right for us last season. I don't remember there being much difference in his performances in the middle or on the right.

Wasn't exactly keen on doing the research for last season, but since you've summoned me... ;)
He's started 8 games there (+2 in 3-5-2) with his first one turning into the horror show against City. They were scattered all across the season with exception of 3 matches at the end of 2016 year.

Nov 30th : ManUtd - WHU 4:1 (League Cup) - 2 assists
Dec 4th : Everton - ManUtd 1:1
Dec 8th : Zorya - ManUtd 0:2 (Europa League; played as a left winger) - 1 goal
Dec 11th: ManUtd - Tottenham 1:0 - scored that beautiful winning goal

Last year was also a bit of a different story with attacking players having to cooperate with hugely immobile Ibra. Moreover not everyone starts their stint in the new team and more demanding league in a flying form, so there's usually some time needed for acclimatization. Because we've invested money as well as time in him, Micky should have been given a proper chance over the last 6 months.

Not reading that mkhi needs to feck off end of story

He was. He started out first 11 league games, goals and assists dried up as soon as September started.

some of the comments on here and in the transfer thread are shocking and worthy of RAWK.
OK so he has not done has well as expected , but is that any need for some of the comment thrown his way.
At the end of the day he did just not it in to they way we play, he is a good footballer and I am sure he will show that at Arsenal.
Maybe Jose is to blame for not using him right only time shall tell.
I was hoping we would be above some of the petty comments Mkhi has been getting but sadly now.
When he does go , I wish him well and hope he finds his form.

He will be better for Arsenal than for us, but won't be as good as Sanchez was for them

I hope none of the twitter cnuts abuse him. He's a genuinely decent guy, unfortunately a very, very soft mentality.

Less pressure at Arsenal should revive his career though.

So he was in tears saying goodbye? Argh, feel for him. I wanted him to prove me wrong because he's such a nice guy who did show moments of brilliance but he just wasn't good enough.

he was awful on the right, truly awful. To be fair to him, he probably didn't want to play there and it's unfair to judge him on his time there.

In the middle he was better but so sporadic with form. He's the ultimate 'sheep' player, if we're playing well he's confident and can play some glorious passes, if we're struggling he goes to shit.

Mkhi cried when he got subbed at half time vs Man City; safe to say that he is one of those people that gets very emotional in general.

Good luck to him at Arsenal, just play like shite when you come back to OT please :D

Has he left?
I don’t know why Woodward didn’t just outrightly buy Sanchez. We had Arsenal in a corner, Sanchez has only 6 months left on his contract. How did Wenger manage to arm-twist us into a player swap deal?

I love Mkhi but truth be told, he has been terrible this season apart from the first 4 games of the season. Jose was very patient - he continued to start him in spite of his poor performances but Mkhi never improved.

He’s the weakest link in the squad.

I feel sad for him, that he was in tears. But he has got himself to blame, that he has been so utterly useless most of the season. I will thank him for the Europa trophy. And fondly remember his goals against Sunderland and Tottenham.

IF Arsenal also gets Aubameyang then I can see Mkhi doing well at Arsenal, their partnership was brilliant in 15/16 and I guess Wenger's style of play is more suited to the Armenian.

A player swap deal is far preferable in this instance. We get shot of a player who doesn't fit the manager's plans, Arsenal get an immediate replacement without any outlay. This has gone better than anyone could have ever envisioned for us.

I feel for Mhki, he's a good lad, but unfortunately he did'nt quite make it here. Always wanted to see a bit more from him, and hope for his sake he shows it at Arsenal. Happy to let him go, because he's never going to make it here now.

I was referring to the point in my previous post that he didn't get to play on the right wing this season.

Yeah I think so too and that he will do alright there under Wegner.
Glad to be getting Sanchez but wouldnt have minded keeping Mkhi to give him another season and just give Arsenal the money for Sanchez.
He was poor this season but had an OKish first season with us.

I hope he finds form at arsenal, not against us obviously, scored some good goals and played a big part in our Europa campaign so for that he gets my thanks, not every player makes it here but at least I got to see the quality he can show from time to time.

♫ It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
We've come a long way from where we began
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
When I see you again ♫

I feel sorry for him but he is 29 later this month and if it takes him another season to settle then that’s pretty much this season gone.

I’m not one of those who believes that when a player hits 30 he needs a Zimmer frame but I do think patience can only really be afforded to players who have the possibility of providing the club with 6 years or more good quality service.

If we were dominating like the Fergie years then I’d have a different view but we don’t have that luxury at the moment.

Hope he does well at Arsenal (if he goes!).

Your contradict yourself. We would be lucky to get £10m for him if we sold him outright. If we swap his for Sanchez, this is an unbelievable deal for us. Who on earth would buy Miki, he had one very good season tab Dortmund, but appears to have been really poor in the two years prior to that, and like you say one of our worst players over the past 18 months. 1 good season on 5, we will be laughing if this comes off, especially if reports are true that he would be their highest paid player. He’s a lemon.

I’ll miss his song and banner :(

It's clear he had his struggles here but it should be noted that he did score some important goals for us. I'll remember him for the crazy 'scorpion' goal, the winner vs Spurs and of course for scoring in the Europa League final. Thanks for the memories Mkhi and good luck at Arsenal (apart from when we play you!).

Feel really sorry for Miki to be honest. It feels like he's being forced out of the club that he really likes. I'll always have a soft spot for him since he scored his first goals last season when I was having a difficult time, and watching him play well and score cheered me up. He was also a major part in us winning the Europa League last season, despite being unfairly treated by Jose earlier in the season.

Wish him nothing but the best, except for against us of course.

Idk why but mikhi is on 200k a week(I heard) which could be part of the reason.... can use that for part of sanchez’s salary...

So was he bought as a Raiola sweetener to grease the wheels for Pogba?

Do feel a bit sorry for him as tactically he just never really fitted in. I would have thought with Lukaku he might have found the partnership he wants as he likes a mobile striker to slip balls through for and honestly I think that’s how you get the best out of Lukaku and not play him as a target man. Hopefully Miki finds that with Lacazette or Auba so he can show this league what he is really about.

He was poor this season but had an OKish first season with us.

We are trying to beat a record breaking MCFC. They have now set the standard.
And you want us to hang on to players who have an ok-ish season and have a disastrous 2nd season?
You think that this methodology (ie. keeping players who are playing okay or crap) will be good enough to break records of our own (which may be necessary for us to win the title next season).
Jose needs to be ruthless and he is doing what it takes to win by getting rid of players who are not capable of doing their job.

If I could not do my job, I too, would be warned and eventually fired. And I don't earn millions, which Miki does!

He might have performed better with Sanchez and or more suitable/better players around him as our attack isnt exactly firing on all cyclinders?

I think one more season with us wouldnt have hurt tbh and then could have cut our losses if it didnt work out.
