That early touch to take it past Huth was something very special, need such high footballing intelligence and anticipation to instinctively understand that that was the way to go past him.

Bit too far here, it was the most obvious play with a big slow centre half running towards him, just find a way to knock it past into the space behind.

Mourinho must be avoiding all those injuries by using Senzu beans
Must be!
Don't mind my nerdiness, sir! It's just after @Invictus mentioned "super saiyan" I entered into Dragonball fanboy mode. It's never a pretty sight.

 You've been watching Toonami lately haven't you?
Ha, I wish! Though, I am in a Dragonball mood now.:p

We need to teach him and Mata the fusion dance, their power levels are similar but I think Mkhi might be a bit stronger.
Mataryan? If I was talented I'd make a gif of Goku and Vegeta doing the fusion with Mkhi's and Mata's heads on but, alas, I am not.:(
A fight game character I guess?

No need for that hyperbolic chamber, just get on Redcafe after a win

Ross did well, long may it continue.
Close but no cigar! T'was Animoo (AKA anime) :D

Ross? From Friends? I cannot unsee what has been seen!

Never nodded my head to a post as much as this one.
Your head nodding is appreciated, sir! :D

Apologies for derailing the thread. Blame @Invictus !

Is that "Mr" Yagami as in wash on, wash off?

Get a grip ffs. He 28, which is a peak age for most players. If he had the potential to be a top 5 player, he would be one by now.

He was top 8 last year.

I think he came behind Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Suarez, Griezmann, Zlatan, Bale or Ozil?. I know Mahrez was 9th in that list.

Credit to Mourinho for changing the formation and moving him into that role. He was excellent, Leicester could not cope with his pace.

As fast as he is his pace had little to do with why Leicester couldn't cope, Rashford is quicker and they managed with him afterall.

Mkhitaryan effectively mixes his pace and intelligent movement, he is such a clever player plus his link up play is brilliant.

Good performance, needed that. Been anonymous the past few matches.

its bizarre how he consistently just runs through the centre of the pitch through defences. nobody else can do it

So do we go forward with him as a number 10? I mean he is our best number 10...
And it is more of a natural position for him than a winger. Not that it makes huge difference, he is effective in either role but probably a bit better as a 10.

I dont buy Pogba as a 10. His future is in the 2 man midfield IMO. He better fix whatever holes he has in his game to make it work.

He's simply a top, top player. Games coming thick and fast in four different competitions - this guy is vital to our chances.

He's an intelligent player that knows when he can exploit defenses with his pace.

Loves his goal yesterday, as soon as he burst through I knew he was going to score.

He is our answer to the likes of Hazard, Sanchez and Coutinho. I'm not saying he already has that much influence on our results but that he can definitely go on to have a similar effect in the next few years. Even in Dortmund, it took him a year or two to really get into his stride.

Absolute joy to watch him play. Just seems to float around the pitch with great pace

I remember when some nutters on here were trying to convince themselves, he was Kagawa reincarnated.

Hopefully he acclimatizes more quickly here. Have to say against Hull I was calling him Missitaryan, like during his first season at Dortmund. Some nice stuff yesterday but we want consistency not Nani the Sequel.

Slow start to life at united, had a good middle third and a quiet last few games until yesterday.

More of the yesterday please!

I always love a player from a somewhat obscure country(in footballing terms)! I have no idea why it just makes me appreciate them more!

His inconsistency is due to him playing out of position.
Hes on another level when playing his favourite role.
Hope he can cement the no 10.

And Dortmund fans saying how Jose is not managing Mkhitaryan properly.

That obscured country had an established kingdom, love and hate relationship with Romans and Parthians, when Caesar conquered Britain.
And Dortmund fans saying how Jose is not managing Mkhitaryan properly.

Was he? Now Martial is going through the same thing.

I met an Armenian couple; friends of my sister the other day. The guy played for the Pyunik Reserves while Miki was in the first team and the girl works for UNICEF and Miki has an ambassadorial role with them. Apparently he used to come out and have a kick about with the Reserves and was always looking to help out; such a lovely humble guy. The girl confirmed this too, a pleasure to work with.

We have another Mata basically

He is a nice guy for sure. I lost my dad almost at same age as he was and I'll tell you, it's difficult to grow up without a father figure and brothers in Armenia. He was a bit protected because of his dad's achievments, but still, he had to prove everyone that he is a real deal, not a spoiled star footballer's kid.

Are you from Yerevan mate? The guy was convinced that Micki will one day turn out for Barca  I told him off!

^^^^^ 100 %.
Mikhitarian is a perfect 10 for Mourimho and he is by far our best number 10. Better than Pogba. Better than Mata. Not necessarily a better player than Pogba but definitely a better number 10.
