Hector Bellerin

For all the stick Valencia gets on here, Bellerin would be a considerably worse player than him, IMO. He hasn't trained on at all and, from what I've seen, lacks any sort of defensive nous.

He can't cross fam, you know what I'm saying ?
You understand, blud?

Hope it's just smoke screen. This guy is worse than unfit Shaw (not talking about the wing they play, but ability to fulfill their job). Display terrible one vs one ability against any kind of decent attacker running at him, and brainless when it comes to time his attacking run. Often leaves his position open to be countered. I doubt he in this form is better than TFM. If we're to spend 40+mil on this guy. I'd rather buy Lichsteiner as squad player to use as option to cross the ball sometimes while sticking with rotating TFM, Tuanzebe, Lindelof and Valencia. Unnecessarily risk.

why are we continuously scouting and settling to buy players from our rivals in the PL who you could argue are past their prime. Where the academy, where's the scouting of youth talent?

Exactly fam. On top of players you mentioned there's Ro-Shaun Williams who's ambition's to follow Tuanzebe's progress.

Don't think Mourinho will spend almost 50 millions on fullback after blasting Pep for 'signing fullbacks at a price of strikers'.

"Manchester United are monitoring Hector Bellerin's situation at Arsenal, according to sources close to the player.
Those sources have told MEN Sport that United have made contact with the 22-year-old's camp and have asked to be kept up to date on future developments ahead of a possible summer move."

So... they read this thread and thought "hmm that'll get us a few clicks". Great journalism.

Bellerin is 22 mate.

Terrible right back. Fast as hell, but there is very little else. I really hope we're not in for him.

We must sign Thomas Meunier. If we are willing to pay £50M. I rather go for Thomas Meunier. Bellerin has regressed in the last two years. Not particularly great at crossing.

Thomas Meunier would link perfectly with Lukaku.

Hope not, i dont rate him at all. He is also never a Mourinho player, he is another fanny

This is likely either completely made up or a smokescreen like Lucas Moura.

In addition to not being good defensively, nor being a good crosser, hasn't he lost a lot of his pace after his latest injuries? If that is gone, what does he have left?

Getting linked with quite a few Arsenal players today.
Ramsey, Bellerin and a few Wilshere rumors
None of them have the quality IMHO, especially Bellerin for 50 million would be a big risk.
Crossing is very important part of a full backs game and he us not very good at it.
Neither is he very good defensively.
But again he's just tuned 23 on March 19th

Haircut that screams pussy

Now, I don't watch Arsenal except when United play them but I thought Bellerin was regarded as one of the best RB's in the league?

thought he looked very good when he 1st broke in to the side, but dont think he progressed the last 2 seasons, been very poor at defending, looks lost most of the time, bit of a trait at arsenal at the moment, maybe a new challenge would bring him on a bit, but not sure thats the kind of player we should be looking to sign.

I bet whatever right back we buy, by the end of next season Valencia would still end up first choice.

That was a long time ago back when he had short hair, i think it was 14-15 season, I just remember he got injured then wasn't the same after that. He's gone backwards since last season.

I would take Bellerin. Good going forward, and althou he may be questionable defensively I think Mourinho will be able to improve that particular aspect of his game as he does with most defenders who work with him.

He had a lot of promise 2 or 3 years ago. Had some injuries, looks a little slower now, and hasn't kicked on. Poor defensively, doesn't contribute much in attack. For £50m we can do better. I'd promote Fosu Mensah all day long over Bellerin and spend the £50m elsewhere.

To play Devil's Advocate to some of the posts in this thread, perhaps he needs a fresh start and if he plays under Jose he could improve defensively?

I don't particularly rate him that highly either but I don't watch Arsenal all that much, and wasn't he half decent a few years ago? Maybe we think we can tap into that and improve him.

Fair enough. I agree about TFM, absolutely.

Bellerin is more interested in posting pics of his fashion choices then he is about being a top class footballer. If he was so good Arse-nal wouldn't entertain the thought of him leaving.

We know how much Jose loves all that social media stuff:rolleyes:

If he came here Mourinho wouldn't have the patience to develop his game and extract the potential he showed in his first season. Would end up exactly like Shaw. Mourinho wants ready made players. TFM is better anyway so no point paying 50 million for Belerin

On another note what’s up with his accent? It’s a cross between London and spanish

Bellerin is in his early 20s which I don't consider past prime .

As for recruiting from the league, they tend to have been some of the best of United transfers at least during SAFs time.

He's been at Arsenal since he was 16 so probably just young enough to acquire some of the accent but not all of it. If he arrived 2 or 3 years earlier he might have a full London accent.

On his day he is right up there with the best, however that is the problem it’s on his day and he maybe only has 3-4 of those in a season. He’d probably still be an improvement on what we have but just not sure, he’d become consistent or even be the right fit for Jose if he is still here.
