Harry Maguire

You could still sign someone more talented, if not just as good for 30m.

How much is Lascelles worth? Tarkowski? Ake? All of those have more potential than Maguire imo.

Tarkowski would look like Keane out of Burnley's low block system imo, he's been poor for them this year anyway.

Not been the same since his bad knee injury imo. Part of back 4s at Stoke and Everton that concede mountains of goals.
Hughes and Silva are the sort of managers whos teams will always concede loads regardless of defenders.

He doesnt seem to improve his team's defence like Alderweireld does, thats my main concern about him.

Leicester are not cohesive in the slightest, they are all over the place.

Whilst I don’t think Maguire is amazing. I do think he’s a lot better than what the manager and the blatant no tactics suggest.

He's the typical Mou's signing ie he's big, he's dumb, he's not very talented and he lacks movement.

Leicester getting exposed at right back constantly and you lot blame the left CB?

such an average defender, can’t believe we were linked with him

Was easily out-jumped for their second and when he's joined the attack, he's offered nothing. He's played far better games than this.
if you see the replay from behind the goal he had 2 men for that corner because Mike Stowell who plans our set pieces at both ends is an idiot

No disrespect to Leicester but I'm sure he'll think one day what could have been....

I didn't see it from behind the goal. From what I saw, it looked like he was steamrollered. Anyway, I think the whole Leicester team looks out of sorts, a bit like we did under Jose. Maguire is much better than today's evidence shows.

I didnt see the goals yet.

I started watching around the 25-30 min mark. From what I saw Morgan and Simpson were all over the place, while Maguire and Chilwell were trying to bail Leicester out. Guess I'll see the goals at half time and Maguire's involvement in them

Can't wait until fans and pundits stop downplaying 75m valuations for above average players while preaching its way of the modern transfer market.

he was marking Seiss, the man in front of him and jumping with him Bennett came from behind unchallenged, nothing Maguire can do there

Maguire defended well to stop the first man from meeting the header. Expecting him to stop the second is asking too much. He can't mark everyone at the same time.

For me the problem with him doesn't have nothing to do with the goal. Its just the fact there are better players than him for that role. Or the price they are asking. Always hard to judge a player based on a bad collective performance.

We should be paying 75m for an extraordinary defender. He's no extraordinary defender.

Aye but let’s face it, Jose saw how key he was at the England set pieces in the summer and was probably having palpitations at the tough of he, Fellaini, Matic, Lukaku and Pogba in the box getting on headers.

I think he is decent but he’s in no way 65mil or whatever was being quoted.

Thought his only big mistake was getting wrong footed by Jota(?) who then got a shot away, Simpson and Morgan are way bigger concerns.

Bet they regret not selling last summer. He's probably plummeted about £20m in value this season.

Dangers of judging players on an international tournament.

why would we regret keeping one of our best players?

anyway gone off now due to that knock he picked up first half

I like him. He's a good defender and good on the ball. Note the ''good'' part. Leicester is his level.

Mind you, he's better than nearly all of our CBs. Says a lot about us, really.

I remember the Van Dijk threads, on how average he supposedly was, especially when Southampton got beat.

I would not spend 65m on Maguire, but he's certainty not as crap as people make out, especially when these knee jerk reactions happen.

Jones looks better than he does, what a dodged bullet that was.
Calmity Jones is bang average, slab head Maguire is the most over hyped player in recent memory. Two headers against shit opposition in the WC and he's apparently valued at 60m plus. As I said bullet dodged, the state of him today. Classic over hyped English international. United desperately need a high quality CB, it's not him.

Everytime I watched Leicester, the sides that they got exposed by the opposition is their right back and Morgan's side. 65m might be too much but what you expected, he's English (they always overpriced) with very good world cup last year and he was Leicester best player last season voted by the fans and the players despite the amount of goals they conceded last season and the 20 league goals Vardy scored.

I think it's unfair to blame Maguire alone for how poor Leicester defensively. We will need to see what he can do if he plays with a better player next to him. Remind you that before their freak winning the league season Leicester was supposedly a relegation battle team and Morgan was one of the player. I think his level is above Leicester. He's definitely can challenge Aldeweierld in Spurs team, take the XI spot in the current Chelsea, United & Arsenal team & better than Lovren.

£100 million bid in for him tonight if he stops these cnuts going 7 points clear.
