He's broken in to the England side at Leicester and now gotten a massive pay rise after 1 season, maybe he's actually happy playing for Leicester and values being a focal point and leader of the side

Indeed, just makes him more expensive really and the only teams he could go to better than Leicester are loaded, so it makes sense from their perspective.

He’s going to want to start playing in the CL sooner rather then later though.

Very good for Leicester to get him signed up. Realistically they wont be able to replace him

I’m fine with Maguire not moving after the season he’s had with Leicester and the WC....but he will move at some point. There’s no way he’s not looking around the rest of the England team, or at Andy Robertson who he was teammates with at hull, and not wanting to be playing in the champions league

Liverpool had a lot of trouble getting him and had to pay a world-record fee. Not exactly a straightforward signing considering Southampton threatened to report Liverpool to the FA.

I'd imagine if he comes here he will be one of pivotal part of Mourinho's plan in one of the biggest club in the world. Maybe that fat contract is just try to make him happy instead of showing that he's happy to play for Leicester for years to come.

It was only a lot of trouble because Liverpool were tapping him up, if they didn't do that it would have been much more straight forward.
 
Some recent signings at Man Utd are not quite flourishing, and sometimes that plays on the minds of potential targets. I'm sure he is being cautious instead of rushing and it doesn't work out.
 
Very average on the ball. His marauding runs forward sometimes fool people into thinking he's good on the ball but he's bang average technically and passing wise.

Thats not really true.

Like any player what he does has good points and bad points.

He made the most successful Dribbles and 3rd most Key Passes from CB last season. He was joint 3rd most Key Passes from Long Passes and joint 3rd most from Short Passes. He had Joint 9th Most Accurate Long Passes per game and he also won plenty of fouls, Joint 8th most from CBs.

Thats the good side. The negative side of that is :

He had Joint Most Unsafe Touches, Joint 2nd Most Tackled, Joint 5th Most Inaccurate Short Passes per game.

So he created some things, but also lost the ball a lot. It shows he can make something happen but what you see in highlights videos of him making a good pass is probably neglecting the other passes he made that didnt find their target and means he doesn't keep the ball as well as a Smalling or a Jones.

Usually you want the players trying to make something happen and taking risks far up the pitch so that if you lose the ball you can get your team back into shape. But in recent times posters seem to want players taking those risks from CB for some reason. Thats where the hype comes from. He can step past a player and play a good pass to get a move going for sure. He can also pass the ball straight to the opposing team in a dangerous area that can lead to a chance on his own goal.

Good and bad.
 
Smells release clause to me. Dont see why he would have resigned without one.
 
I like Maguire but he does have a brainfart in him. Still remember that Salah goal last season where he turned him, was poor defending.
 
Well colour me surprised...Those who were calling us to sign him last summer haven’t actually seen him play for Leicester more than 2 times and only went by the WC.

Haven’t even heard of him this season, how’s he doing?

I haven’t actually seen him play more than a handful of times and those were him representing Serbia (looked ordinary).

However, I refuse to judge anyone with the conviction some do without having watched any player on a regular basis.
