At fault for the 4th goal. He's too slow to play a high line like that.
 
He is cursed. Convinced of it. Instead of him aspiring to the club's level, we are dragging everything down to his. We're a joke and, unfortunately, he is the centrepiece on our table of shit.
 
Maguire was the only decent player for the entire 90mins, that must be really hard considering all the awful performances around him.

The captain has secured the LCB spot so its only between Martinez and Varane for the RCB.
 
He seems to be the common denominator in our defensive horror shows. He really has no business being in the team or squad to be honest.

Slow in thought and action and not even a good defender. He's also the least charismatic captain I've ever seen, he looks like he's about to shit himself after any bad bit of play.

He was very poor on the 4th goal I thought. The 1st he had a small part in too but there were many worse than him today.
 
Looking at the thread, people argue that “he wasn’t very bad today”. That’s where we are now.

He's just shit, let's be honest. Horrific captain too, goes hiding. One of our worst transfers ever.
 
We're losing game after game and he is our main defender, surely the penny had to drop.

Just can't play a high line defence that wants to play it out from the back. Why do we persist with this?

He is best in a deep line to head all the crosses out. Unless ten Hag wants to play Ole ball, we simply need a calmer defender who can lead the defence out of a press.

Maguire cannot turn his man or pass it forwards without booting it long.
 
Looks like United are convicted to use him in new system in which, he's the very anti-thesis of it.

Benching Varane is just sad after watching him achieve literally everything in Real Madrid.

Newcastle will, at their new project they'll most likely sign some shit players at the start. City were doing the same when they were first bought, signed a lot of half decent, half shit players. It's a step they'll have to take. Will be our best chance to get rid of him.

They won't. He's 29, no is paying a serious fee for him with his reputation in the mud. The man is a walking meme, like it or not. No serious club is going for him.

This summer was our last chance, we blew it. For some absurd reason ETH kept him as a captain too.

This. Our standards are so so so low now that we rate players by did they fecked up something or not.

Everything what Maguire does is absolutely bellow average especially positioning and decision making. Ball playing defender who keeps the ball in his feet too long because he can't decide what to do. And as a leader defender he is nowhere near danger zone.
When we bought him 3 years ago i said that this will be a transfer which will hurt us the most in future.

He wasn't at fault yes, but still captain and part of a 0/10 defence for the last 12 months.

He may not be at fault for every goal, but he is part of the wider problem and as captain of this dysfunctional team, he takes double the punches because organising the defence should be his fecking job.

With the greatest respect are you watching mate? Firstly, he wasn’t “decent”. Secondly he’s been playing RCB ever since ETH came in. Martinez is not competing for RCB as he’ll never play there as he’s left footed.

A CB needs to know how to lead from the back and organize a team and organize themselves as a group. His pace causes serious issues and he has no idea how to deal with it. He has no idea how to form an understanding with any other player on the pitch with us. He's just not a good defender.

No. Nobody pressing with any intensity causes the issues. You can’t have a high line without pressing - you can’t give them time on the ball. Frank quite literally just said they targeted our left side. Deliberately. If he was so fecking shit you’d think they’d go the right side wouldn’t you? The first 3 goals have sod all to do with him. It’s the same scapegoat bollocks all the fecking time.
