Is he aware that when you're trying to score with a header the aim isn't just to make sure you get your head on it and that's that? You like... Have to direct it and shit.
To be fair Sakho just about did enough every time. It’s an area you’d be expecting him to improve on next season though.

He had very good game, won 9 headers which is probably more than anyone on the pitch. Defensively looked good too. He should pass the ball quicker though, first half he took too many touches.

Wasn't 4-5 of them in attack where he failed to hit the target? Not sure that's something super impressive. Was OK defensively though like the rest of the team. A few mistakes that others had to clean up.

80 million for this guy was highway robbery, let's face it.

Very static in defense - Zaha turned him over with ease - and not incisive on dead ball situations.

Could have scored a brace if his head was not shaped like an anvil.

He defended well tonight, not sure where the criticism is coming from.

7 in defensive third or our half.

The offside goal was all down to him and he let Zaha and the ball go clean past him into a 1v1 near the end.

Agenda. You know prior his transfer to here, people were complaining that we shouldn't go to pay the fees. Haters want to stick with that because they want to be correct and will blame the player.

Was offside though. Mensah knew it as well so he let him go. Clean sheet for a win.

Still seems to be the only one who is threat in set pieces, the others just not aggressive enough to approach the ball.

I don't even know why Lindelof bothers. He's not good at getting his head to a defensive header, he's got no chance in the opposition box.

That was a poor defending from Lindelof in Maguire's feck up at the end there. Maybe if Lindelof can fly he would have covered for Maguire's crap defending in it. Poor Maguire has to suffer from such a partner.

Just trying to act like his die hard defenders who think he's immune to criticism.

Berbatov made a good point on Gary Neville's soccerbox thing on YouTube. Some players can be good with their head and not necessarily good at scoring with it.

Maguire seems to fit that unfortunately. He's scoffed a LOT of headers in his time here so far.

Talk about a rip off. We're ridiculously good at overpaying for players. Barely worth half the fee.

Love that Matic's interception skill, managed to trick everyone.

Very good game. Must work on his finishing. I have a feeling that with Bruno's corners he could be scoring more goals.

Has scored as many PL goals as Maguire this season. Maybe we should start aiming for someone who can actually hit the target?

Maguire was highest goal scoring (Goals + assists) CB in the league since 2016-17, I think it was till last season. He scored few goals.

He is starting to get done every game, it surely has to do with him being completely knackered. Having 6 days off will do him the world of good. Played every minute. Taken on the captaincy. I don't think he's a world class centre back, but he's by far the best we've had since Vidic and Rio. He's just exhausted (and needs a partner(s) that compliments his attributes).

Turns like a static caravan. The way he got done by Zaha was comical.

If you can't win the header how can you hit the target? :wenger:

Can't win the header in the first place if they aren't aggressive & determined enough to even win the header.

Think he did alright. He had some good interceptions, some important headers as well, though he gets turned so easily by anyone who isn't a zombie. Good thing we got VAR.

VAR to the rescue.

Also the kick + foul to Ayew (?) is unnecessary, what's his problem.

Good performances overall.
I don't mind his first miss-head, had 3 chances to score, didn't, doesn't matter. Sakho actually just did enough to unsettle him.

Good game, defended nicely but should have scored. He is also our best passer from defense. Got turned by Zaha yaaay something for his “fan” caravan to clinge their agenda on.

I thought he played well, and was one of our best players.
And people complaining about him not scoring from his headers, do you have a agenda much? The fact that he creates so much havoc is a bonus, its not like anyone else is doing it.

Sometimes it is, that cheat was asking for it and was causing problems all over the place. CB need to be rough on occasions.

I think I've been a bit harsh on him. He definitely needs a rest though. He even got a semi-concussion to only get up and play.

Unfortunately, he is gonna get always judged with respect to his price, which was double his value, which is gonna make people (me as a big culprit too) emphasize his weaknesses. SO while for 80m you expect a close to flawless player, we are never going to get it from Maguire. If we accept him for what he is (a decent, mostly reliable CB), he has done well enough.

Until next time he becomes a meme from a nothing player in which case I'll bitch again that we overpaid by 40m.

Still Maguire and Lindelof have one PL goal each this season, both headed goals from corners.

Your agenda is some top red bollocks summarized as never criticize any players ever and accuse those who do of having an agenda.

I'm hear to debate and not label. So, in my view - Harry Maguire had a poor game, he was at fault for the goal (and knock it off with this it was offside bollocks, he couldn't have known in real time what it took VAR ages to determine), and he was turned over comically by Zaha which could have resulted in a goal. He was ineffective on corner kicks despite having 4 chances put on a plate by Bruno. So maybe I have higher standards for a CB, ridiculous fee aside.

If you are referring to the disallowed goal, I'm not sure how he is at fault. He played the offside trap to perfection by staying behind Wan Bissaka, and he was defending the zone in front of the keeper. If you take away AWB's tackle, Ayew was well offside and it's not even close. If he wasn't offside, he wouldn't have gotten to the ball. Now TFM i'm not sure if it was some god tier defending where he knew ayew would stray offside and let him go, or he just switched off. He did immediately appeal to the linesman though, I'll give him that.

That's bollocks, I crticised players & gave credit where it was due.

How many times striker managed to getting away from his marker and aim for fast post, where's the credit on the striker for the movement?

This is where the team needs to work as a team. Shot should have been stopped in the first place & Mensah switched off by not covering for his team mate when he wasn't marking anyone but saw where Ayew was, he's on the RB role and that far post is on him, if he didn't switch off then he already knew Ayew was offside. Ayew was way offside from Maguire's position, not even closed & VAR used Bissaka's stretch leg not Maguire for the offside.

So you're going to blame on Maguire for getting turned over by Zaha? What about you questioned the comical from Matic for missing the ball completely? Is that not an agenda?
