Ouch, that hurts their top 4 chances. Janssen isn't on Kane's level.
 
It's a blow for my bet on him being top scorer. More importantly.
 
His form was poor, so it will not be a huge loss for them in that form. However, his replacement Jassen does not look that impressive either. Albeit, some of his gametime was limited. The only way this will effect Pochettino team will be psychological or if Jassen is that bad.
 
I suppose this just guarantees Rooney a definite place in the England starting 11. And Spurs will struggle a lot without him. By the time he comes back they'll probably be out of the champions league.

That's what I was thinking too. If they couldn't beat Monaco at home even with him in the line-up, they'll be hard pressed to get out of what initially seemed a very favorable group for them.
 
damn. Real shame for him and the PL in general. Catastrophic for Spurs ... will cost them many points.
For the sake of the game, hope he comes back very strong.
 
It might work out in a way for Spurs though. Not saying Kane was a weak link but it could force Poch to approach the game a bit different with different players on the pitch.

E.g Get Janssen high up the pitch and feed him the balls in the box. Kane wonders on the pitch a bit too much, which is fine when you're firing on all cyclinders but the non-stop football has taken it's toll.
 
One of those players who I could never hate no matter who he played for(except city, pool, chelsea, arsenal).

Hope he gets well soon.

It's two months - while it may affect Spurs' form, I don't think it will have any affect on him as a player. Injuries happen.

I think it is a blessing in disguise for Spurs personally. Poch might as well have to play different set up and it might good for spurs in the long run. Every time I see them play it seems like they don't have a plan B and 1 of the reason is due to the fact that Kane is not going to be substituted out. As for England, they are fecked up no matter who they have so that's it.
 
They've looked sketchy at the start of the season. It's a blow although I think Kane may benefit from the rest.
 
If I were the boss of Tottenham, I would have sold him last summer for a crazy amount and tried to make smart acquisitions.

Curious to see if Kane will confirm this season.
 
It's a rumour started by the Mirror that every news outlet then jumped on.

As yet no comment from the club as they haven't released or possibly even had the scan results, it could even be more than 2 months or hopefully less.

If he's out that long we'll cope ok.

Why? He's been brilliant. Buying goals is pretty much the hardest task a manager has. So few available replacements.

You're right. He's still young and the owners of Tottenham will always find a EPL club ready to spend more than 70m
 
If he is out for 2 months then he will miss CL group stage. They have already lost home game so qualification is even more difficult.
 
Not out for 2 months. Scan results much better than expected. Pochettino said today: "We're happy. I am not a doctor, it's hard to say one, two or three weeks."

Kane is still in his habitat, low start for every season, seems like he always has stagnant summer then slowly keeps pace with the season beginning

Sounds a little bit like a certain senior England striker who always took a long time to get going after a layoff.
 
Did anyone listen to Talksport yesterday? Adrian Durham and Ray Wilkins were discussing Harry Kane and his contract situation. I believe it has 2 years to run but the issue is he is earning (only) £60,000 per week. Now consider how important he is to Spurs and the fact that Sissoko is allegedly earning nearly £100,000 per week. Jamie Vardy is even in 3 figures since his new contract was agreed. Now I don't know how much input Pochettino has had in to the situation but I think Ray Wilkins hit the nail on the head last night. It seems that Kane is being punished for coming through the youth system and not coming in to Spurs as a blockbuster signing. They should take Leicester's example and up his wages, although granted Vardy did help Leicester win the League.
What the Spurs board are missing is if Kane sits out the remainder of his contract and walks away, or even leaves before then (his value is only going to go down as it runs out) they will still have to replace him. If Spurs want to stay at the top end of the League and even challenge to win it, they need a 25 goal a season striker and that's going to cost them say £30 million minimum. And anyone who costs that much is going to demand wages I would say comfortably in to 3 figures £K per week. So let's say they up Kane's wages to £100,000 per week it's still 300 weeks before they've paid out the £30 million a new player would cost.

What do the rest of you think about the Kane situation? Am I looking at it in a too simple way? Is he not as good as he's been hyped up to be?
