Conveniently forgetting Barca (the favourites) and Bayern both who are miles ahead too. And including players such as Lukaku/Zlatan/Martial/Rashford when talking about a competition with the best in the world is stretching it a bit ! I'll give you the other three
At the end of the day there are multiple factors that need to come together for a team to win the CL, including luck of the draw, form (or opposition off form) and pure luck (in whatever form it takes, injuries, deflections, poor refereeing decisions etc. etc.). Liverpool's win in 2005 with a clearly average CL team, spattered with a few top class players that elevated them, show that on their day, if a team is capable of hitting those heights, even if not regularly, then they have a chance and dark horses do occasionally win.
Barca the team to beat, clear favourites for me. Madrid probably going home in this round.
