Harry Kane MBE | Performances

It will be very long time -if ever - before a Prem player beats the new record set by Kane today.

Is he the best number 9 in the world at the moment? 8 hat tricks in 2017 (messi Ronaldo lewandowski have 6 combined)

For the Tottenham fans, taking your love for the player out, and let's pretend it's an overseas team, what do you think levy Would accept from real or Barca?

There is just the off chance that Guardiola kicks out Aguero next season and tries to tap him up so that he can join City by 2019 or so....

We must NOT let that happen.

I’m not so sure. From my own observations gpg ratios of close to 1 are becoming more and more common.
I've noticed this too. How come we're seeing more of this? Higuain 15/16 hit like 36 goals in the Serie A and Cavani is putting up fantastic stats as well. Suarez 15/16 was also putting up crazy stats.

Most goals in Calendar Year:

2010 - Messi
2011 - Ronaldo
2012 - Messi
2013 - Ronaldo
2014 - Ronaldo
2015 - Ronaldo
2016 - Messi
2017 - Kane

It's a hell of an achievement.

Hope to God he doesn’t go to PSG, waste of his talent. I’d like to see him go to Real. That would be great for English football.

I get what you mean but....

Losing the best striker we have produced as a country in over a decade to a club abroad, it is sad that it would be a good thing.

I get the impression that Kane doesn't want to leave Spurs. I think he'll be there for a good few seasons.

For this summer? No amount of money - not as we're about to move into the new stadium, because Kane is our iconic poster boy when it comes to attracting the new sponsorship deals - not least for stadium naming rights - that Levy will be eyeing up.

After that - who knows? My guess is that if Kane has another phenomenal season during 2018-19, then the bidding would start at £200m and move up from there.

Insane goal record and a proven world class striker.

I had my doubts after his breakthrough season, I thought he’d be a 1 season wonder but he’s proven me wrong.

Great player. The stat that blew my mind was he’s played 12 games less than Messi in the last year and has 4 more goals. Unreal.

Was about to say this. But they're too enamoured with sanchez atm.
Which is bizarre to say the least.

Kane is a proper striker. No chance he is leaving Spurs unless a club would be prepared to pay silly money. And Spurs wouldn't want to sell him, he doesn't seem the sort of player to angle for a move either. He could break Spurs' all-time top goalscorer record, and maybe even Shearer's PL one.

He just scores goals. A Norwegian pundit said, rightfully so imo, that many players around have the skills that Kane has, but very few have the vision and intelligence. I think I can agree with that. Some of his finishes are so calm and genuinely brilliant.

I was fecking of those gimps. I hand my head in shame.

You’re not the only one. I thought similar. Fair to say he’s a phenomenal player and would probably command at least close to a world record fee if Spurs sold him.

I wonder how long he will last at Spurs. Surely he would want to win a trophy before he retires.

Ya was thinking this summer and not so much what you'd do, but what your board might. Spanish clubs real like a World Cup star so if he has a good one and real offer let's say 150m, would levy go for it

I too get this impression, but I also dont think it's totally unconditional. If Spurs miss out on CL say 2 seasons running would Kane stay? Or be interested in a move? Whilst Spurs have CL I think he will stay put for the next couple years. Players of his calibre want to be playing in the best competition and Spurs currently have that.

Not to mention at 24 time is still well and truly on his side, he could easily spend 2 more years at Spurs and be just 26 when looking for a move away.

You're telling me that Levy would refuse a £200million+ bid if one such would occur at any point durig the summer?

I beg to differ.

He's got 18 games left to score 12 goals to hit the 30 goal mark in the PL. Currently on 18 goals.

Kane’s fantastic but it also helps having Eriksen, Son and Alli around him, they’ve got a great front line.
no better than any of their rivals in Uk or in Europe. Not one world class player in that supporting cast.
I really don't care if we have Lukaku or Zlatan or fecking whoever, it will be criminal if we don't atleast bid for him when the time comes and he shows signs of wanting to move. 150, 250 mil, who cares, he is worth Neymar money.
Again. Same flawed strategy. Spending our entire budget on one position. The last 2-3 teams to win the EPL (soon to be City), are doing so without a "Harry Kane" up front.
He's a 200m player now. His numbers are outrageous. Utterly amazing considering he was quite shit when he first came through
Doubt many sides would spend that on him. Not even PSG.
Genuinely don’t think we can afford him. He’ll cost Neymar money in next summers market, though he’ll be worth it.
Not with the holes in our team. You can win titles and compete for the CL with a Costa or a Cavani. Let Kane run his contract down or put in a transfer request.

Not even when you take in to consideration the stadium costs drastically exceeding that of initial expectations? Upwards of £800million at last count.

The money for the stadium is long term debt and I am sure Levy will have planned for the stadium going over budget. Selling Kane as we move into said stadium would be absolute business suicide by Levy.

I think he loves it at spurs too but as he improves and people start comparing him to the very best the argument he'll always hear is not winning the trophies. Even shearer won a league and people still say he'll have regrets in his career. Imagine him topping shearer and never winning a league??

Unless of course spurs do but seems unlikely. Maybe he'll fire them to a champions league surprise

I think such explanation really undervalues Kane's skill. Anytime I've watched him, the thing that surprises me the most is how insane his shooting ability is. It feels that he can score from virtually any angle and position, whether under pressure or not, doesn't matter. That kind of unpredictability scares opponents and makes defenders commit more errors.

I agree with the rest of your assessment, his football intelligence is off the chart and I would add his ability to use his body effectively as well, even though he doesn't seem to possess the strength of someone like Lukaku, for example.
