Harry Kane | "I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success."

Thought he played well last night . He got f*ck all support last night (sounds familiar concerning England forwards) and his play from deep was promising.

He's not going to go for 100million plus though, that's a certainty.

Yeah it was probably his best individual performance tbh.

If he's dropping that deep though you need runners in behind ala Son or out wide as we saw with England's goal. After the opening high tempo 30 minutes from England there was none of that and he was fighting for scraps.

He will if a club wants to buy him now. Levy is a greedy bastard.

What he showed was that he needs support and a creative midfielder. Pogba would have been superb for him last night
I think we may have a chance with him now, if we're ambitious. 60 million + Martial and Lingard :D

Yep. Rashford, or a fit one atleast, would've been perfect for him last night to some extent.
We would've still had issues with our lack of dominance in midfield though.

*sigh* what could have been.

We should stay clear off him, We should focus on Haaland for next summer if Chelsea don't get him this year.

HK is a Very Good finisher there's no one I'll prefer striking on goal but he has looked very sluggish through out this tournament, seems to me he has lost a yard of pace and his hold up play at times has been nonexistent to say the least, also his pressing levels are off the boil.

Stay clear. I'm not impressed. I think his mobility seems to be decreasing year after year. Utd should be either eyeing the next upcoming striker talent or help Martial find his fecking form again.

From last night’s final, I think he’s losing whatever pace he had and is almost trying to be a 10 than a 9. It’s not something which matches with Olé and his counter attacking tactics. I just hope Levy holds on to him for a season. He’s not going to be anywhere near 100m valuation next year and we can get him for a lot less.
I said this earlier on when we were linked with him, I wouldn't go near him, those ankle injuries are going to shorten his career as he's going to lose all pace he had quickly and those injuries happen too frequently.

Kane needs runners either side of him, using the channels and their pace. Sterling didn't really provide that, nor did Saka or Grealish, they kept making runs into the centre.

Still think over 100m is dumb money for him and I'm glad we're not in the race, he doesn't suit us.

Hmm, sounds like he does suit us.:)

Not going to happen anyway.

Not impressed by his Euro performances overall. That could of course be partly down to Southgate's football, though.

Still, for the price Tottenham is asking for you'd expect someone younger and better.

Eh, teammates has nothing to do with someone's level of finishing.

Not to mention - Kane has been playing much deeper for Spurs this season. This was one of his best seasons ever - if you take into consideration all the assists he had

He was very good first half and terrible second half.

One thing i dont like as Captain is how passive he is. At one point Chiellini, Maguire and Shaw (i think) were all in the refs face about something. Kane trots over and pushes Maguire out of the way and then just stands there quietly whilst Chiellini continues.

Will he ever win anything...?

That must be what he's thinking?

Transfer request incoming soon?

All gone a bit quiet on this potential transfer. I was expecting some noise now that the Euros are over. Probably he’ll go on a holiday and then we’ll see some movement after he is back.

I think its quite simple. If harry wants to move he has to put in an offical transfer request and get his team to put spurs under pressure via the media. Comes down to how ambitious is he really?

Cavanni is 7 years older than Harry Kane but if you compare their work ethic you would think its the opposite.

Quite hard to see this one happening, as unless Kane plays the strike card, it'll take too much money.
You can't see Kane ruining his Tottenham legacy with such an ugly play, so the smart money is an awkward last year spent there, and hope Levy will let him out for a "mere" 100m next summer.

After seeing him in the euros, I don’t really fear if he goes to City. He’s good at playing deep now and still a great goalscorer but he’s lost a lot of his mobility and pace now. Hopefully it’s for a 100M if it happens and they stay away from Grealish. They won’t get both

Few players have signed dumber contracts. He had all of the power when he signed it. Why did he think a contract with Levy that expires as he hits 30 was a good idea

Most Players need their biggest move at 27-28. They rarely get more valuable beyond that, and clubs will gamble on a fee knowing they can sell if it doesn’t work out.

He may run down his contract, but then only gives himself 4 years to win trophies. Assuming his body and form holds up.

It was such a stupid move. He should have moved, or signed a 4 year deal. I can’t imagine he’d have got that much more money for making it a 6 year. I can’t see that Levy had any lever to pull on that made him sign that contract.

Who knows what conditions he has in his contract - it's pure speculation to say he has no way of getting out of the contract.

Also, perhaps he doesn't want to leave Spurs? Maybe he's happy captaining his local club, captaining England and living in London (which is great when you're filthy rich) where he and his family/mates are etc. Could easily be a Shearer type character who is content at his boyhood club - and obviously if he's asked he is going to say he wants trophies etc.

None of these speak to him signing for 6 years. All of your points of countenance would exist if he signed for 4 years.

If he doesn't really want to leave Spurs why wouldn't he sign a 6 year deal?
But that’s the issue. He does now and has publicly declared it. That’s why signing the 6 year deal was stupid. In other words, he should have signed a shorter deal and kept his options open instead. If he wanted to stay at Spurs, he could have signed another extension anytime.

Age, injuries, will probably ask for a 5+1 contract 350-400K p/w and for me he's no 'mentality monster'. Just don't see him as a leader who will make you much better in CL ko games. Plus covid market. Wouldn't spend more than £75-80m incl. add-ons on Kane.

I can't believe he is only 27 - he plays like a player that has aged more or aged very badly.

Can't believe the way people are trying to discredit him. Most goals in the Premier League, most assists in the Premier League. He's been an elite player for several years now and still only 27. He's a very smart player and well-rounded. He'll do fine as he gets older, and let's not forget he didn't really burst on to the scene at a very young age like Rooney or Cesc, so it's doubtful he'll burn out before his 30s.

My recommendation? He must be signed whatever the cost.

Ok yeah that makes sense,

Will be interesting to see if he is willing to force a move

He looks like the kind of player who has so many aspects to his game that even as some of those inevitably drop off with age he’ll have more than enough going for him to play at an elite level until he’s well into his 30’s. He’ll end up needing players with pace around him, who can stretch the opposition, much like Cavani does. The only problem is those recurrent ankle injuries he gets, and that’s the known unknown, as Donald Rumsfeld said about him in 2004.

Haaland is the striker worth paying £150m for at this point.

Anyone paying more than £70m for Kane is crazy imo

Kane is obviously a very good striker playing a false 9 role. 100m+ is reasonable offer given the length of his remaining contract and also his age. Hazard went for 100m with 1 year remaining pre-pandemic.

Almost as if he did not just end the season as the PL top scorer again

Too bad he is not the shiny new toy named Haaland. I hope Kane got his move to Man City. Pep obviously knows how to use a false 9 in his system.

But also you could point to Hazard as a reason not to spend 100m on Kane.

I used Hazard as an example for the transfer fee with 1 year remaining pre-pandemic. Kane is a very good striker playing false 9 and i believe he is a perfect fit for Pep and Man city. I think it will happen.

I take your point, just arguing devil's advocate. I just can't see them spending that on him given the impact covid has had on finances (though granted city are better insulated from that than most).

The Euros has knocked a significant chunk off his price. His World Cup performance raised a few eyebrows but this has confirmed it. He's not going to be the player that wins you the difficult games, and when you're talking 100m that's what you expect to get. He needs his pace to get away from his man for a shot, and now his pace is going he is quite limited. I hope we don't buy him and i hope City do, he will score plenty there but he won't win them the CL.
He did get England 4 goals often playing in an ultra defensive set up. He and Sterling practically carried England's attack with 8 goals between them. Under a better manager and with a better team he'll thrive. He'll also be manged a lot better at a big club and won't play when clearly injured.
