Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

That really is kind of pathetic. Would rather stay in his comfort zone and chase what is in the end a meaningless record than actually go and win something. If he even gets the record it will get broken eventually and then what. Trophies are glory that does not fade and should be what your career is about, not some personal statistic that means nothing in the context of a team sport.
Or he could just stay a year and have his pick of any club in the world. Judge him if he re-signs, not if he stays another year.

Not fussed either way on it.

If we can pick him up on a free (free isn't exactly free but it's more financially prudent than buying now) all well and good. He can mentor Hojlund and will take us up a notch. He would probably have 2-3 top seasons in him. Maybe. But at least we're not paying 100 million to find out how much he'd have left, it would just be the matter of his pay packet and sign on.

Personally I don't think he should faff around aged 30, I think he should go to Bayern. But if he doesn't fancy it then fair enough.

Either way we shouldn't be getting involved in bidding money for Kane, I think the idea was not great from the very start so no reason to change.

Sky Sports saying it's increasingly likely that he's staying at Tottenham.
That makes no sense, Bayern would have spoken to kane via his agent or intermediaries before getting into negoitations with levy. If kane hadnt given his OK for the move then they wont have bothered.

I personally think that's his right move. 1 final season at spurs, leave for free in the summer and take your pick of clubs.
It's also beyond crazy and stupid from Spurs to lose 100 million-valued player for nothing

Maybe he listens to Gary Neville and is sat waiting for us to match the offer.

Also if Haaland sticks around at City for 10 years he'll beat that record by miles and miles

No thanks, he is already 30 years old and wasting his prime at a mid table club. Having his pick next summer does not negate the fact that he is showing a complete lack of ambition if he stays. Look at Courtois, what guarantees does he have that he will have anything to choose next summer, the time is now and he is shrinking away from it.

It's just spoilt entitled United fans i can only hope they are a minority who somehow are all on here.

This belief they have that Kane who isn't a United fan never has been never will be and who has no loyality whatsoever for United is just sat at home playing everyone along until he chooses us is amazing to me.

I've seen so many quotes on here that it's clear he only wants United that I'm starting to wonder did i miss the interview where he said that.

It's like some United fans cannot accept players may actually want other options than playing for us
It's pretty obvious that he would like to come to us. He wants to stay in this country, break the record and have a genuine chance at winning some trophies along the way. He can't play for Arsenal or Chelsea, Man City have Haaland in his position, and Liverpool spunked on Nunez and Gakpo in the last 12 months. We are the biggest club in England, with no direct rivalry to Spurs, are in the CL and on an upward trajectory under an excellent manager. It would be weird if he didn't want to join us to be honest.

Agreed, seriously lacking in ambition if he stays. He could win a CL or at least make the last 4 nearly every season. Theres no guarentee we would want him in a years time, especially if hojlund, greenwood and rashford are scoring enough goals.

The real issue here is wages, Kane wants £500-600k per week for 4 years no one is giving you that if you have to pay an £80-100m fee as well, he’s playing the smart card here, in January he can get at least £40m of that fee by agreeing to a summer transfer .

Bayern wouldn’t have gone all this way if wages weren’t agreed

You don't find it slightly convenient that all the commentators of the channel that hold rights to the PL flock out against the move. We would have spoken with them and had guarantees that he was interested.

Silly season at its finest/worst, can't wait for the window to be closed.

Sweet Jesus still some lads wanting United to spend a £100m on him despite him only having a year left on his contract and being 30. :wenger:

If he doesn't move can potentially pick him up on a free instead next year and spend the money elsewhere

He's probably had a phone call from another Prem club saying "hold tight until next season and we'll give you half a mil a week".

Very good point. Hats off.

He really wants Utd doesn't he? IF he stays at Spurs without signing a new deal then I'm 99.9 percent sure he actually is going to be a Utd player sooner than later, I suspect that's the move he really wants.

He’s not that reliant on pace so I’d argue there is no real basis for this? We play a lot of games but the fact we have just bought another striker would mean the burden on him is less. He’d play only league and CL really with decent rest periods possible. We have young wide men and mount/Sancho can do a lot of yards as well so it looks fine to me.
Any reason or logic behind this or just a gut feeling?
I know he isn't as dependent on pace as others, so I'm not saying he's looking at a cliff edge type situation where his legs have gone and everything else with it.

It's more an instinct thing rather than logical. I just think some players have a swagger and self confidence and look their best at high pressure moments.

I'm not convinced that Kane has that attitude and prefers to be the big fish in the smaller pond.

I think he is a bigger "gamble" than people think and is a huge potential cost. I'd rather take a chance on younger players where there is a chance on recovering something if it doesn't work out.

Idiotic really.

The chances of us signing him on a free went from having a lottery ticket earlier in the window to it being one of the more likely options that could materialise. Yet you still have people that rather than exploit an opportunity want to piss next season's budget up the wall. Far too much FM being played I think.

Bayern wouldn't have made a big bid had Kane not wanted to move.

Now, how's the Frenkie De Jong transfer coming along ?

Moron wants shearer's bullshit record, 260 goals. Its like football in this country didnt exist before 1991-1992.

Greaves -- the 1966 World Cup winner with England who died in 2021 at the age of 81 -- remains the all-time top goal scorer in the history of the English top flight with a total of 357 goals in 516 games for Spurs, Chelsea and West Ham combined.

Yeah, you'd have to be an idiot to want us to sign one of the best players in the world in a position where we are desperate for players :wenger:

Personally I couldn't give a shit about next year's budget - a huge amount could happen in that time - not least a change of ownership. Who's to say Kane would even want to come to us on a free in a year's time?

If he rejects Bayern offer 70 mill next week take it or leave it, see if Levy is shitting himself.
