Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

Depends how you define 'slightly' tbh. Levy's shown he'll play high-stakes poker even to Spurs' detriment, at least up to now, so i wouldn't put it past him to place a £130m valuation on Kane when it comes to us...

Well Kane can just stay put until Jan when we’ll surely be able to get him for around 40-50m and Kane will likely get closer to 500k a week Bayern are offering from us. Looking at the sums the ideal for us is for him to stay beyond this window. Those wages are abit of an issue if true though one big injury and it’s a massive waste of cash.

If I was Postecoglou I'd be absolutely fecking livid with Levy right now. Three days until the first game of the season and NOW is when he decides to sell your best player.

Fantastic move for him. Amazing player that I would have love to see for us, but makes no sense after signing Højlund - even without Højlund it would have been a huge risk financially after we finally got rid of the worst wages. Bayern also looking good for CL now, think he will surprise German fans with how good he is in the general play also.

Levy is calling his bluff. He will tell him the club have no choice but to sell if he won’t sign his new deal. He will say that they simply can’t afford to let him see out his deal.

The choice here is to go to Bayern Munich or to stay at Spurs forever and I think Kane will cave, say he doesn’t want to go, and will have signed his new deal by the end of September.

Why do you think he signs the deal? Purely out of loyalty to spurs?

It’s mental. The spurs manager job is cursed under Levy.

Kane is literally the whole focus and leader of the team. Taking him away is like taking half the team. No player is bigger than the club but Kane at Spurs comes pretty close.

Without Kane, Spurs will plummet. Most teams will probably look forward to playing them.

Personally I think Kane is about to go into a steep decline.

I think you get 1, maybe 2 years out of him and are then looking at blowing £2m a month for another 2 years while he becomes a shadow of his former self.

Maybe the financials work for Bayern, but I don't see how it is worth spending that big on him. If he was approaching his peak...yes obvs, but I'm sick of being a place where players cash in on reputation and then underperform.

Would be hilarious if Bayern fail to win anything this year!

He isn’t the type to rock the boat or create headlines. If Levy tells him to go and sign a new deal, he won’t want the pressure and PR spin coming from Levy.

He is manipulating him into a position where he will feel he has to do one of the other for the benefit of Spurs.

I mean I'm pretty sure Levy will have asked him to sign a new deal pretty regularly over the last 12 months at least?

What about the third option. Don't sign anything? Spurs aren't going to drop him, he's their only real hope for an outside chance at CL football - then sign for whoever you want next summer for a huge sign on bonus.

He’s not that reliant on pace so I’d argue there is no real basis for this? We play a lot of games but the fact we have just bought another striker would mean the burden on him is less. He’d play only league and CL really with decent rest periods possible. We have young wide men and mount/Sancho can do a lot of yards as well so it looks fine to me.

It’s a real situation now with a real bid and Levy looking like he is doing what is best for the club by accepting it. He can definitely spin this.

Not in this case. I don't try to buy a Ferrari because I don't have the money. Similarly, we can't afford Kane, and that's partly because we would be paying far more than Bayern. Levy sees us as rivals, so he would charge more, or just flat-out refuse.

Kane goes to Bayern, or I reckon he'll re-sign with Spurs and be content with breaking the scoring records until Haaland breaks them all again in a few years.
So you wouldn;t bid up to the value you could afford? Weird.

You are underestimating the spin and a player who has played for 10 years for the same club. He won’t want to be seen as the player who robbed them of the chance to reinvest. This is a big moment in the negotiations.

I'm confused by this scenario. What is Kane's bluff? Why would Kane panic and sign in September when he can have his pick of the world next summer? Why has he refused to sign up until this point? This scenario just makes 0 sense.

A. So where is it obvious he prefers us?

All you've stated is that he is close to being the top goal scorer. Nowhere have you said how he prefers us.

Are you moving slow or standing still?

How can he break the EPL record at Bayern Munich? If he can do that then please let me know.

Such a shame. If i was him, i would pick Bayern too but i really think that with him we would be genuine title challenger.

Bayern face many challenges every season
- playing great football
- scoring a lot of goals
- winning the Bundesliga emphatically
- winning the CL
- winning domestic cups

Kane can target those plus his own personal performance goals. Let’s not pretend as if all Lewandowski achieved at Bayern was the one CL win.
It was, hence why he wanted to go play in a more competitive league and for a club he deemed more prestigious.

Why would any Spurs fan think he has 'robbed' them? He's generally been overly loyal in my opinion and most Spurs fans I know are aware and accepting he's carried them for a long time and should move. I do think Spurs can put a lot of pressure on him but the truth is if he really loves the club and his goal is the PL record/he's no that fussed about trophies, he will stay but if he wants a league or CL he will leave. I don't think there's much else to it, Kane holds all the cards.

It's always been a real situation. They will have made him very real, very highly paid contract offers that he hasn't signed. They would have told him then they were really eager for him to stay.

I'm just not seeing what Levy is going to offer him or say to him that would change anything next year.

You're acting as though Levy is going to just walk over him when Levy has absolutely no leverage.

Just watch lads, I am telling you. Nothing in his career up until this point has suggested he will fancy the constant speculation and debate over the next year.

The pressure will be on now to go and give the club a fee or commit. He won’t see out his deal.

The same player who asked to leave and did a public interview talking about wanting to leave finally gets to the end of his contract where he can go to basically any club in the world with a giant signing on bonus.

He's going to sign a new contract because? Levy is going to do some sort of magic "spin".

Don't see it myself but fair enough.

100m € + 20m € performance based add-ons. I wonder how we will look back on that in 5 years.

Good move for Kane.

Mbappe will obviously be in Madrid, Haaland in Manchester, Barca can't stop breaking the law...leaving very few options for Harry.

Bayern are a huge club and I think he can age well in Germany.

If I was Postecoglou I'd be absolutely fecking livid with Levy right now. Three days until the first game of the season and NOW is when he decides to sell your best player.

Kane was always liable to be sold at any point this summer, would be utterly naive to not know that, I'd expect Postecoglou to factor it in and plan around it as best he can. Better chance than the average for a highly sought out star player in his last year then he could resign but still the less likely outcome.

I was expecting him to sell on deadline day, so this is marginally better.

I was also certain that we'd play Spurs + Kane + new manager bounce and end up losing but our rivals wouldn't have to deal with that. Now, spurs look distinctly mediocre.

And then meekly shut up and said no more about it soon after, just like he will this time.

It is go or stay from the club perspective and I think that will be the choice in his mind too. Watch this space.

Forget about Kane. Let's focus on Mbappe next season as a free transfer. We can pay higher salary to Mbappe than RM, surely?

Hopefully by then we will have new owner with new ambitions.
