Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

Obvious that Kane has to make it clear to Levy he won’t sign a new deal under any circumstances. Then Levy is faced with £80m now or £0 next summer. Only way to potentially get this deal done.

I think we have played this well. This was also going to be an August signing and we have distanced our selves from the start to remove the unnecessary media circus.

We will come back in for him when Levy gets itchy feet and hopefully we get some influx of extra cash from new ownership (fingers crossed).

If this happens itll happen early.

Id imagine Ange when he took over wanted to know what was happening with Kane. Levy is setting Ange up-to fail if it goes to August and he sells.

This is what baffles me, it’s like Spurs fans and Levy haven’t grasped that he’s 100% leaving. I’ve had spurs mates say to me “100m doesn’t get you a striker as good as Kane, so why would we sell?”

He’s going either way. The decision they need to ponder is whether they try and replace him with £100m, or £0. I’d bet the first option is a tad easier.

Levy apparently doesn’t want to strengthen a domestic rival. Well Kane wants the PL record, so it’s either strengthen a domestic rival for a shit load of money, or strengthen them for free next year anyway.

Yeah this is us putting the ball firmly in his court, however hard to take remotely seriously when it's not coming from reliable source

I think he will do it. That interview with Neville last year? was a pretty bold move.

He gave that interview in May 2021 as the season ended just before the Euros. City made a few bids up to 120m and he didnt say a word that whole summer. He actually was on holiday (Bahamas and Florida) staying at places owned by the guy who owns Spurs - Joe Lewis. Thats not exactly him standing his ground is it?

Neither him or his entourage have the balls to force a move. They will forever regret signing a 6 year deal at 23.

I am convinced he hasn't the guts to tell Levy he wants to leave Spurs, however nothing would make me happier than him proving me wrong

its all about the benjamins...
Exactly and thing is we're not even their rival.

Personally I don't think that bald cnut would give a feck even if Kane hands in a transfer request or kicks up any ruckus. He'll just wait then sell to the highest bidder.

I really don’t want us to spunk a shit tonne of our budget this summer on a player who, in a few years anyway, we’ll have to buy a young forward to look into taking over from him when we can invest now and not have to worry in a few years because we’ll already have a young forward

I don’t care how good they are it just feels like investing in the short term for a squad that isn’t ready to challenge City in the short term even with them. With gaps in midfield, goalkeeper and defense if inevitable sales go through and already extremely poor depth.

Kane won't kick up a fuss or agitate for a move, so that's that, doesn't have it in him.
Would Spurs fan even be mad at him if he did ? He's a legend and signed a new contract when he could have easily left. He would give Spurs 80M+ to rebuild something instead of nothing in a few months.
They are already penny pinching buying that italian GK because they don't want to spend 35/40 for Raya.
It's such a win-win situation for him, he would be insane to still be playing for Tottenham this season.

He really didn't though did he, not as much as he should have. He did that little interview with Gary Neville and then let his weird brother talk some shite.

if doing an interview isn’t kicking up a fuss I don’t know what is

I don't remember any chairs being thrown, which is the bare minimum.

he literally went on TV and said 100 million would be a fair price for me, whilst Spurs and City were haggling over the price

what do you expect from him, burn an effigy of Levy in a Spurs kit?

Say you will refuse to train/play, pretend you're injured, be late at everything, feck up sponsors duties, there's so many things you can do. It will come out in the media but he has surely enough mates to keep it vague and blurry. He will face some hate for a few weeks/months during the transtion and then it's over. By summer 2024 he will probably have already won a trophy and getting ready for the Euros. :wenger:

I really hope he doesn’t resort to that, it’s completely unprofessional and I don’t want players like that at United

I think they're hoping he runs out of options next summer, Spurs have a good season and he decides to stay on. Him wanting to stay in England means he has really limited options. If we sign another striker this window who does well, he might just be left with Newcastle as the only ones who could afford him next summer.

He is easily the best option, yes his age is frustrating but he's never been a guy about pace so see him having longer career than that type of pacey striker

The season after the Euros, he was late back to training. This was later covered up by him and the club saying he was on an extended holiday.

Yeah and he wouldn't want to sacrifice that

My thoughts exactly. I’d say he signed that contract, when he probably could of got a much higher salary elsewhere because Levy added a very high bonus. Levy is gambling now I think, hoping for a massive fee or Harry wanting to stay next season. Personally I think he will stay and go on a free next season. He will still get his loyalty bonus and a massive signing fee at his next club.

So how else does he push for this move then

ask for a transfer, make that public, and make it clear he isn’t signing a new contract..

He can give Levy a while before going public to negotiate with slightly more leverage, which is likely what’s happening now

throwing his toys out if he pram is not realistic, he’s been at Spurs nearly two decades

Kane would be expensive even at 80 Million if you consider having only a year left on his contract, and he is 30 years old. The total package over a 4-year contract would be in the region of 150/60 Million. He would not have a resale value either.

Needs to do a mbappe and say blah blah blah about going into his final season with spurs before leaving on a free in 2024. Mention that it would be nice for the club to get some money for him to help the club find a replacement. That way puts pressure on levy to sell this summer.

Or put in a official transfer request. Utd boynd to make up any loss of earnings he forfits with a offical transfer request.

Irrelevant he has at least 5 years of top flight football in him. Look at benezema or leodownski. We wouldnt look to sell him.

Hes ETH no1 target for no9 position and i agree with him. Perfect for utd.

Obviously, the coaches will want the best available. There is also a business side to the club.

No way. This has FdJ written all over it.

Levy does not care if Ange fails. He sacked Mourinho before a cup final. All levy cares about is his ego.

Unlike Mount, there have been no reports that Kane has categorically told Levy he will not be signing a contract.
All the reports are that Levy has not given up hope of goading Kane into another contract if they have a good run this season. And that’s why Levy doesn’t want to sell, especially to a rival.
All this talk about £80/100m is a waste of time.

Maguire + Martial + £50 million? Deals like that never happen, but seems about right.

That would be terrible for our FFP wouldn’t it? Or have Maguire and Martial values sufficiently amortised by this point?
