Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

I don't agree with the notion that he'd prefer to be the PL top scorer than go win trophies. I think Kane is well aware that he is criticised for the lack of trophies that he has won.

However, I do feel that he might not view Madrid as the best bet for him even though it goes almost guarantee titles. He's going to have huge boots to fill - Benzema is adored at Madrid. But it's also a very tough crowd to please and they've booed even Ronaldo there. All of this plus having to move countries at this age might make him take pause.

Yeah, what he should do is play along to wanting to go to Madrid, then when Levy accepts their bid turn it down and wait for us to offer the same which I'm sure we would.
Levy then looks like a massive cnut if he refuses it.

As opposed to how much of a you
-know-what he's appeared to be in the past?

It's quite clear Levy doesn't give a fudge about how he looks. He'll do what we wants at the end of the day.

Hopefully he goes to Madrid as I don't want him here. I think he'll be a bit silly to not jump at the chance to go there where its almost a guarantee he'll win trophies.

The PL record is great but if Haaland stays for a long enough spell he shatters that record and Kane may regret not going there.
Who do you want?

Finishing 8 points above 5th isn't scraping

If Real Madrid draw or lose today and Atletico wins Real would finish in the same place we finished this year. Real Madrid could finish between 11-14 points off 1st. We finished 14. We both won league cup. Real don't feel that much more ready made than us if we are going off this season. We also did it with no CF (6 goals in all comps). Madrid at least had one that scored 30 goals

Also over our last two matches against Citeh the aggregate was 3-3. Real Madrid's 2 legs against Citeh in the CL semi it was 5-1 Citeh

Top 4 status still unknown going into the second to last game of season? How's that not scraping it?

I'm not really here to give a pro Madrid argument but I know who I think is more likely to win their respective league next season. I think you do to.

Either way, the main point is that Kane, at his age, is going to torch his relationship with Spurs to move to a team that is still way off any major title.

People who are happy if he doesn’t come to United. Who do you want? because I think Osimhen is even less likely and the young Dane isn’t the answer right now either.

Be silly of him to go to Spain, he’s won fcuk all in the game and wants at least one record to his name as going down as the greatest ( on paper ) goal scorer in the hardest league in the world. Haaland has no reference to the debate, you worry about now not in 4/5/6 years time if he’s in a postion to take it. Not forgetting the chances Haaland would also have fcuked of to Spain.

Kane my second choice purely based on his age but when you consider he scored 30 goals in a very poor Spurs side you just have to say he’s still got it even though there’s no longer any longevity in the player.

Cause 3rd with 8 points over 5th.

So it literally has to go down to last game of the season for you to feel a team just made it?

If I'm Harry Kane and this is my last chance to win major honours that's not the team I'm moving to. He'll want a team that's already winning or very close to. He has to. No point moving otherwise.

Who do you want?
Not really sure as no one completely stands out but the profile I'd prefer is a goal scorer that is young, physical, fast and can press. Hold up play would be great too.

Osimhen probably fits that profile the most and RKM to a lesser extent but Osimhen's transfer price is a serious stumbling block.

How does Real Madrid mean guaranteed trophies? theyre 11 points behind Barca and this Barca team isnt even that spectacular compared to the usual. Theyre in rebuild and Kane is just going to be a tool to fill the void Benzema left during the process, they dont add Kane to start winning trophies. Perez is not dumb. Probably will be there 2-3 years and get thrown away.

Nah. They are going to be a super team if they add Kane, Bellingham, and very likely Mbappe next summer. Imagine Mbappe-Kane-Vini ahead of a midfield consisting of three from Bellingham, Tchouameni, Camavinga, Valverde. And I’m sure they’ll make some defensive additions as well.

Meanwhile Barca is in financial hell and Lewa won’t have many years left.

I've basically ended up on Kane through process of elimination after trying but failing to be convinced any of the others are workable.

A very big if and by that time 1 season would have passed for Kane. Meanwhile his value is decreasing while the other players' like Osimhen and Haaland only increasing. If Real Madrid wants to go galactico they would go all out on those kind of players at some point. Players need time to blend in as well. When they signed Ronaldo, Kaka, Benzema and Alonso in one window the results were not instantly reflected. From what Im seeing so far, Xavi has managed to stabilize Barca. They are one step ahead of Real Madrid right now, with or without Lewa.

We payed 100 mil for a winger who is not even a game changer.
Paying 130 mil for a main man and manager's no1 priority isn't impossible as it seems. Especially if we get an new owner. New owner will want to put his mark in first transfer window.
A new owner won't suddenly allow us to spend as much as we like. Reports indicate we've got 100m to spend pre sales, so blowing 130m on one player when we need at least 4 new recruits doesn't sound particularly sensible.

Kane is going to have to push for the move if it’s us he wants, I say us as no one else other than us or Chelsea need a striker and there’s even less chance Levy sells to Chelsea and Kane won’t want that move due to the rivalry between the clubs.

They're not guaranteed. There is probably only City and Bayern you could say are.

But if you're choosing between Madrid and United who do you think more likely next season?

Madrid won the Champions League a year ago. We're happy just to be in it for a change.

It must be really easy to fool people into thinking you know anything of substance.

Muppetiers
Exactly. Their record from the last few years is absolutely woeful but people will still follow for the hope that they actually know anything

I love how they even know Ten Hag is pessimistic about it but wants ambition shown. This is not transfer news, this is an actual Piers Morgan kind of people spying on ManUnited manager and employees.
It's gossip. They make shit up and really dumb people fall for it.

Seriously, I don't know how they persist in existing. They have gotten stuff absolutely arseways for years now. It's so very odd that people still listen to them.

Is this a serious question? As bad as they have been this season, they still won two trophies. That’s two more than Kane has ever won.
For the league it’s either them or Barca (with Atletico winning 1 every decade) and for the CL Madrid usually have a 50/50 chance almost every season.

CL is not a realistic target for both clubs. Not the trophy at least. Do you think Benzema would have left if he knows they have a good chance for another CL trophy? No he would not. So for me United and Real Madrid is about equal if you want to win CL. If the salary is around the same opting for United makes more sense for Kane when you consider his goal scoring record, no more adaptation needed, his family and the fact that United fans and the club is more forgiving for players. Madrid fans can be hostile. We also have a history of keeping players beyond their peak in recent years, not something that I agree with but as a player that matters I reckon.

When I talk about trophies I meant La Liga and or CL. I forgot to put them in. So what you say is there is 1/3 chance RM will win La Liga. But the state that theyre in is that theyre behind Barca when it comes into rebuild. We also finished 3rd last season so yeah, 1/3 chance.. if you ignore the state of other clubs on top of us. I dont agree with 1/2 chance to win CL with an aging squad under rebuild.

He'll be a Spurs player next season

He wants to stay in the PL to break Shearer's record, but Levy won't sell him to a different PL team. That only leaves a single option: he stays at Spurs in order to stay in the PL in order the break the record.

Breaking records is evidently more important to him than winning medals. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Hundreds if not thousands of players have won major trophies but will never be remembered by later generations. The best they'll get is being an answer in a pub quiz. Kane obviously thinks he has a better chance of securing his legacy by being the dominant PL striker of his generation. I get it. But it does mean we need to rethink how we judge his motivations. Real Madrid won't mean anything to him if that's the case.

We haven't threatened to win a league or Champs League for a decade. We struggle to even consistently qualify for the latter. We've been a complete shambles for a long time. We have to catch and surpass Man City and Guardiola. We need four or five new starters.

Now compare to Madrid over the last ten years. See the difference?

They've just made the semi's of ECL, won it the year before. How is it not a realistic target with Kane next season?

And their domestic challenge, catching an only decent Barca team with Kane in the team is much easier than our domestic challenge.

I'd love to believe our prospects are the same, that we're just as attractive to Kane but it's really not the case. Wishful thinking I'm afraid.

Will Levy put up the 400k a week that Salah is getting? Levy really is in a hell of a bad place with this one.

It's because you rarely see top English players going out of their comfort zones and taking other opportunities abroad. I think it'll help break the mold in that sense, for years it's been PL or nothing for the majority during their careers.

In recent years young players have started taking their chances elsewhere but having high profile stars doing the same could prove impactful in the future.

It’s not a comfort zone the Prem is basically the NBA right now. I don’t see American basketball players wanting the play abroad and I also don’t see why English established players would either.

Yea not really computing how a side that went to the semis and won the whole thing the season before are as far off from winning a CL as we are

We haven't been passed the quarters in well over a decade, Real do it anually

Madrid don’t do long rebuilds. In your earlier post did you really claim Madrid and us have an equal chance of winning the CL? That’s just delusion. Madrid have won several big trophies (as you say, league and CL) in the last few years whereas we haven’t even challenged for a single one since 2013.

Well that's that, he's off to RM. Bummer, really thought he was the one to take us to the next level.
