Hannibal is getting there but he's still a bit hot headed and petulant at times, and until recently hasn't quite been physically ready to handle himself against the seniors yet either. I think he's basically grown into it now though, won't be long. Better than throwing him in and having something silly happen before he was ready but he needs to start getting opportunities now. If not for injury, incompetence in the cups and him being away at internationals I do think he would have had a start or two by now though.

Top English clubs don't have the patience to throw teenagers in the deep end, unless they are surrounded by seasoned pros within a system that they know what they exactly have to do....especially for someone who would play in the center of the park. It's the most demanding area of the pitch, central midfield is. When you're in a top team like City, Liverpool, or like what United used to be, you can afford to integrate a few young players because you know exactly what you're getting from the other 9 or 10 starters and top substitutes. With Hannibal, it's going to be anyone's guess half to half, let alone match to match.
The lesser leagues just don't have the pressure nor scrutiny that the PL does at the top end. And coupled with a club like Manchester United that gets attention for anything good, bad, or made up, it's a highly volatile situation. I think the fact that Hannibal isn't English is a blessing for him...it's less scrutiny and he wasn't a massive transfer.
He would be getting more opportunities even at a lower league or lower English level. 100%.
Hannibal hasn't been exposed to the experiences as a teenager in men's football week in, week out like Bellingham or Camavinga. Bellingham as a 16 year old in England, then plying his trade in Germany. Totally away from his normal surroundings. Similar to Camavinga. First team club football in France and then moving to Spain. Yes, Hannibal moved away to England, but then having to play week in, week out on top of your living environment is a lot.
The Arab Cup is level(s) well below ACON and if it wasn't, then he'd presumably would have played. But he didn't because the stakes and pressure was much greater at ACON.
We don’t want what happened to Adnan to happen to him. If he bursts onto the scene and gets a few assists or goals. Gets a huge deal and then plateaus into a squad player? We are in a catch 22. I think if he can’t break into the team by next Xmas he needs to go out on loan and make his bones somewhere else. Hugely promising. Still quite a ways off being a regular for any PL team I would imagine. Maybe the likes of Norwich would have given him a chance but I doubt it. So if they wouldn’t then why would we?
It wouldn't even be a risk to throw him into the deep end and straight replace McTominay. All of this talk that we need to wait for the right time. but every midfielder bar Fred has been shit this season and never likely to show anything so we we keep waiting for to get his chance for so long?

Indeed, no less but yes more petulant than Bruno. Two red cards in back to back appearances and three in about 15 appearances, all for kicking out and petulance. That’s also ignoring the countless kick outs he got away with which would be reds in the PL.
How many times has Bruno been sent off?
In his last game against Everton, he got fouled a few times, but remained calm, which hopefully is a sign that he's getting there temperant wise.

Question should be how many times have Bruno faced the type of challenge Hannibal faces in every academy or reserve match? If they allow that kind of challenge then Bruno will get more red cards as well for moaning and I would not blame him.

Hannibal lost his shit over a basic shoulder to shoulder challenge which wasn’t remotely a foul against Lincoln. How many times does Bruno face that? Multiple times a match id say. How many red cards does he have?
How many times has Bruno raised hands to players, kicked out, flew in studs up way over the ball and let his man free to score goals because he’s busy yelling at refs and getting sent off?

The amount of time you spend on slagging him off for reacting once or twice after being subjected some absolutely horrible challenges is more hilarious than my “delusional excuses”. It seems like you have made up your mind about him while i see him as 18-19 year old reacting once after being on the end of atrocious challenges that would result in red card at top level.
I see no reason for players like him not to be given game time from now till the end of the season. It’s not like pogba and mctominay are working magic in our midfield. The only magic they do is disappearing in games

I haven't watched him at all in the youth teams. I've watched him play for united and ive watched all his Tunisia appearances so perhaps that's not big enough a sample for me but he's looked disciplined every time I've watched him at senior level. Interesting

i think his fiery temper is gonna help us. He's very driven to succeed and his mentality is superb. He's a technical player with excellent vision and dribbling ability.
It's unrealistic that we will buy more 3-4 players (plus VDB). On the other hand, many players are either too old/unhappy/not good enough. We cannot compensate that by only buying, some younger players will have to be thrown into the fire. Hannibal, Garner, whomever, but some of them will.

Who gives a feck about hotheadedness, look at Rooney, it made him the player he was. He needs drafting in, the midfield is shocking at the moment.
Heard a conversation between Stephen Howson and Anton Ferdinand about Hannibal. Ferdinand was talking about him having to become a player who the manger trusts and questioned his character a bit and saying you'd have to take your football 100% serious.

Just a small sample what Hannibal has been receiving game after game in academy and reserves. Funny thing if i remember correctly not a single card was given.
He is quite level headed kid and Goal had done a piece on him in which they praised his maturity. Apparently he was racially abused in one of the games but Hannibal actually went and spoke to the owner of the club to let the person go and help him educate on why what he did was wrong. Not sure how many 19 year old out there would have reacted like that. Its just a lazy observation calling him immature after Hannibal reacted few times. This was mainly out of frustration after receiving no protection from referees game after game.

He might not even make the first team if he keeps getting hacked down like that every match.
I'd prefer we keep him well away from the first team until the new manager starts. The virus easily spreads in the first team. We don't want one of our most talented youngsters being exposed to this nonsense.

This one is on Rangnick IMO. I was supportive of Rangnick but his persistence with same old on the bench is extremely disappointing.
He won’t get any games until it’s mathematically impossible to get top 4.

With both Fred and Scott out, I'm hoping he'll come off the bench against Norwich. I'm sure we'll start with Matic and Pogba, but both normally struggle to play 90 minutes. Of course we might just drop Bruno back into a deeper position instead as we've done a couple of times under Ralf.
