In the 4-2-2-2 system we are playing, I think Hannibal will be better than Bruno in the dual-No.10. He can also slot in two the lower 2. In fact the 2-2 midfield setup is highly dynamic, lateral and vertical switching is important between those four.
I like your optimism but I think we should wait and see how he does at first team level before giving him Bruno's spot.

Just sucks how this type of player can miss playing for a new manager that has given playtime to youngsters.

He isn't missing much to be honest, would probably have just got a few minutes against Young Boys whereas he is starting for Tunisia in some proper competitive games. I am sure Ralf will be watching the video and if he likes what he sees Hannibal will get game time on his return.

Yep. He'll play loads at AFCON, too. The situation couldn't be better, imo.

He is given No.10 and plays as starter every game. It’s the wonderful experience for him and can only help him clinch the first team opportunity when coming back.

Just love watching him play. It just seems so easy to him.

If Ragnick settles on the 4-2-2-2 I think he'd do extemely well as the left #10 if he gets the chance.

Yep. Completely agree.

He's the kind of player I absolutely love to watch. My first World Cup memory was 1986, and I fell in love with the ball playing #10 and they've remained my favourite type to watch.

I love the way Hannibal is always wanting to get on the ball and, when he does, how he has the vision and technique to spot the right balls and play them effectively. It's been great watching him at youth levels and possibly even more so seeing him play like this at senior international level.

I think he'd really fit into the 4-2-2-2 system well and really hope he gets some opportunites to showcase his ability with the first team.

What’s this tournament? And the AFCON in January. Seems a bit overkill.

Good for Mejbri though who needs first team football.

I really havent expected him to play CM since we moved him to the AM role in the 23s. I think he'll be developed as a "Pogba on the left" or Grealish left sided AM. If he was going to play CM or the DM in our 2 in front of the CBs he needs to be running up and down the pitch, pressing and showing some defensive nous knowing when to hold position for the benefit of the team too. He's not getting any of that playing as an attacker.

Good for him that he's getting experience. Theres no doubt we're keeping track of how hes doing and he'll have his chance to impress Ralph when he comes back

Just came off at 89’. Good performance, pretty involved, and was playing quite high up. Played with a lot of energy and a high work rate.

From what I can tell this is the warm up tournament/dress rehersal for WC2022.

Arab Cup has been going on for quite a few decades now sporadically. Just the first time it’s been organised by FIFA. But yes, given the circumstances it’s being played as a dress rehearsal for the WC as the Confederations Cup doesn’t exist anymore.

Excuse the music

Nice weight of pass on every ball in that video. Even the pass before the assist, whilst being simple was played with a perfect weight to avoid the man pressing out there and not let the full back get across.

Thought he would be a fit as 2 CMs ? . I haven't seen this guy at all. So I could be completely wrong .

i think getting game time at the Arab Cup is a better experience for him especially that Tunisia have now advanced to the semi finals. Surely better than coming on as a sub against Young Boys (don’t think he would’ve started that game anyway). From what I have come to know about RR, he’ll monitor him and give him a chance at some point.

Where would he fit best in Rangnick's 4-2-2-2 system? As one of the deeper midfielders or as one of the 10s?
At the moment he’d be a better fit as one of the #10s even though it’s very tempting to imagine him developing into a great all-rounded number 8 eventually considering how poor we are in that department (while Bruno will most likely remain our main number 10 and we have an abundance of different attackers already).

I think we should be developing him as an 8. We have enough attackers, and Mejbri has enough talent to play there. He just needs experience. It's his natural position so it's not a matter of forcing him there. He just lacks experience.

Don’t think he’s going to want to come from an international tournament and go back to playing youth ball. He’s an ambitious kid, I remember when he signed he’s already envisioned how many years it’d take him to break into the first team.

on another note, it’s kind of sacrilegious a big club like this hasn’t had a bonafide african star yet, hopefully Mejbri’s the one

Having watched him agaisnt grown men, he has to play further up. Physically he isn't ready to handle ball winning responsibilities a deeper 8 would have, hes an outstanding player though and carries the ball gracefully. One if the 2 10s would suit him perfectly at this stage.

I wouldn't worry about where he'll play in the current system. It's not like 4222 is set in stone. By the time Mejbri is available or ready every chance we'll have changed.

Really looking forward to him being in the team though. Just the right amount of bad attitude. Like a young Beckham.

Absolutely, something I'd noticed too, and in front of the player so he run onto the ball and not wait for it. Another thing I noticed was that he never seems to telegraph where the ball will eventually go, and the way he moves his bodyweight, so as to create space for himself. Top player in the making I believe.
