Handball European Championship 2016

Apparantly Norway have delivered a complaint.
Germany messed up a sub, and had one player too much on, some time at the end of the match.

I don't like us being sour grape, but rules are rules, and it's about a place in the final.

Germany scored the winning goal with an extra player on the field. Fecking great.

How does that even happen?! Genuine incompetence or a risky, sneaky trick?

I'm planning on watching a new sport every week up until Rio and the Euro final seems like a good time to start on handball. Where can I watch it? Handball doesn't seem to exist on UK tv outside of the Olympics.

The player ran too early on the pitch after the goal was made (when there were like 4 seconds left). That normally results in a two minutes penalty.
Since the Norway keeper just threw the ball to the midline after the goal and no other Norwegian player made an attempt to restart the game at halfcourt it wasn't really game deciding so they'll probably reject the complaint. Still a dumb move by the German player.

Don´t worry Norway, we will avenge you in the final  . This match is especially important to get a place in the Olympic games.
There will be many Germans in the stands, hopefully the referees will keep the concentration...
@Brwned , do you have account in Bet365? I think that you can see the game there, if not try online here but I am not sure how works out of Spain http://www.rtve.es/directo/la-1/ (the games use to be in "tdp" but this time will be in "1")

If you don't mind VPN you can watch it here or here. It's our national broadcaster so the stream will be good.

How does it happen? Incompetence by the officials on the sideline. Probably caught up in the game. The thing about handball is that it has excellent rules (apart from deciding delay), some that football could really use, but the governance and refereeing surrounding the sport is abysmal.

Cheers both.

Quite enjoying this final. I suspect he's playing out of his skin given he started off as the backup goalkeeper, but Andreas Wolff's undoubtedly the star of the show in this game. Some incredible saves and quite useful in the build-up.

Comfortable win from the Icelandic manager.

The way the Germans set up their defense is to be hard at all times. Every time a player goes for a shot they hit the attackers hand or close to it after the shot has been released. It usually isn't called and it really tires out the attackers when done to them for 60 minutes. Also frustrating as hell.

Its incredible how many good coaches are from Iceland!!! Right now both coaches who won last Euro in both men and women handball are both from Iceland!! Proud of them!:D

I didn't want to create a new thread for a not so popular sport so I figured I'd use this one.

Vive Kielce just won EHF Champions League with possibly one of the greatest comebacks in sports history. Down 28-19 with 14 minutes to go, basically completely done to an extent where bookmakers did not even offer odds for Veszprem win. Tied the game in regular time with a shot 6 seconds from time, ended with a draw after extra time and won 4-3 on penalties. Unbelievable success, I'm buzzing!!

To be fair I could not believe my eyes what was going on. You cannot even find comparable example in football...can you imagine Real Madrid or some other top team to lose CL final being 4-0 up with 10 minutes to go. Because that is what happened in Cologne. Unbelievable.

No thread for the world cup? :o
Silly Brits and their weird sports, handball is much better than cricket, tennis, golf and rugby :)

Disappointing but we have a young team and beating France at home was perhaps a step too far this year.

A friend of mine did the thing on facebook at half time, saying he was watching the game.
We were best in the first half, but he clearly changed it.
I blame him for the loss.

That last goal by France in the last second of the first half completely changed the game.
Mentally it must have been tough for Norway having been the better side the entire first half to be starting the second half a goal down.
