Hmm

In October 2007 he was nominated by France Football to the prestigious Ballon d'Or (formerly known as the European Footballer of the Year). He is the first Mexican to be nominated for this award. FIFA has named him the third best goalkeeper in world in 2007. According to reports, he has agreed to join English club Manchester United FC for a fee reported to be around 10 million euros.

Hectic has been busy I see

Ochoa is one of the best young goalkeepers around. he is not just an FM legend.

that said, the story is clearly bollox. we don't need a new goalkeeper.

Didn't you hear? Van Der Sar is past it

there was that goalkeeper from Chile who played in the under-20 world cup here in Canada, now, that was some keeper. he holds the record for the longest world cup clean sheets...

Anyone know who he plays for?

We should get Speedy Gonzalez. He has Tevez physical frame and he is faster then Bellion.

Ochoa, Jaaskelainen, Buffon?

Why not Benji Price?

Looks like a fecking clown to me. Good shot stopper, very fancy, but in all the footage have you seen him catch a ball or command his area ? Nope ! Probaby rubbish at crosses and corners.

Any of you cnuts speak Spanish?

There's some quotes in that article that aren't in the gobbledegook at the start of this thread. Can't be arsed with babelfish, surely someone can speak Espanol?

They said that we have an interest but seems more like a paper bollocks

and quoting him, he says "We know people is watching me, i have had talks and offers... I would love to play in a foreign country but i won't rush things and hopefully something comes in a short time"

Thanks for that.

Typical agent-generated bollox, then.

Next!

I occasionally watch some America matches here and Ochoa seems to be a bit like Tim Howard, very athletic and quick, not bad on balls in the air. However, he doesn't have that much experience with crosses from the wings as generally attacks in the Mexican league come through the middle and along the ground. He certainly would need some adjustment period to the English game and it's hard to know whether he would adapt to the game or not. Gut feeling says that he would be much better suited to La Liga.

my head hurts after reading this threads original post, thanks
