Film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3

Half way through I realised, Thor could have easily been in this movie and Ragnarok could have easily come after without changing anything. Seems like they dropped the ball here a little and my only slight criticism.
Love and thunder?

Either that or should have just not had the scene at the end of endgame

Best MCU movie in years, no question about it.

Also, pretty certain that's the MCUs first F bomb?

Yep.

Also makes me hyped for gunns DC universe

When are you going @Sweet Square ?

The flash although isn't gunn , looks good . I'm hoping it's ending sets up gunnverse.

Feel Disney needed this desperately, as the tides might be turning in favour of DC very soon.

The first one was fun but part 2 was shit, so I doubt I'll bother with this one.

After some absolute dross released in the last couple of years (AM&TW Quantumania, Thor L&T, Morbius, Eternals) it's a decent return to form.

Not perfect and didn't quite feel like it had the kick of a series ending movie.

But I don't think that was helped by cast members effectively signing off from it before it even started production, with at least a couple of them saying they wanted to carry on playing the character in the MCU but felt like GotG wasn't the right place for them going forward.

A great mix of action, CGI and emotion (!) and I'd give it a comfortable 7.5

Saw it. Dragged on far too long for me. All the bad guy did was shout and yell and it got grating after a while which was a shame since he was great in Peacemaker

Is that a general rule of thumb for you?

That unless two straight movies are good, you won't see the third?

Yes. Barring other evidence.

Doubly so when superhero rubbish is involved. I enjoyed Deadpool but after Deadpool 2 it will be a hard sell for Deadpool 3.

There is much content available that you can afford to be fussy.

Come on now, you must know Morbius isn't an MCU film.

Anyway, just seen this one and it's definitely the best actual MCU film for a few years, but not perfect by any means. I think that it's becoming harder as every new film needs to almost double the number of characters within their individual universe, and that is also this film's weakness.

I went to watch a double bill of the first two a couple of years ago and thought it was probably the most boring four hours of my life.

I ducked out for 20 minutes into the second one to grab a coffee and lied to my date by saying the queue was the size of Batista's chest.

Then even worse I had to pretend I liked the movies and make conversation on the way home when everything inside me was screaming to go all @Sweet Square on it.

Anyway, I'm hoping this third one is good (I'm sure it will be).
You took a date to a Guardians double feature?! We need to stage an intervention.

Really enjoyed it, a fitting end to the trilogy.

Brilliant movie. Really like the villain. A total POS. Every character had their moment. I actually like Adam in this. Thought i’d dislike the character due to the actor but he warmed up to me. Really strong finished to a great trilogy. Best GOTG movie for sure.

A great end to the Marvel franchise.

Just watched this, thought it was very average. Movie was missing something and it occured to me on way home. It was missing Thor. They should have kept Thor for this movie and not made love and thunder.

Thought the music was awful which was a disappointment seeing GOTG movies have a interesting soundtrack.

Weakest of the three GOTG movies and for me a 5 out of 10.

A very strong trilogy. Each movie is different in its own way.

Whilst I agree about Thor, he would have been great in this, "weakest of the three" is a truly terrible take.

Saw it last night. It’s a bit messy and the worst of the 3. The best bits about the guardians for me is the chemistry between the characters, it’s been great so far but the new one misses the mark a bit. The characters just seem to shout at each other a lot and the warm humour is lacking.

Worth a watch as there’s still some really cool bits to enjoy but I was a bit disappointed with it.

I liked number two and it fit well just before avengers, but I think this is better than two. It's a better story imo and really makes use of all characters and their strengths.

It's almost as though people can have different opinions on movies

I enjoyed it enough. I thought it was mostly better than 2.

A few bits and pieces were off (like the end of the villain and his power overall) and there's plenty that could have been cut to get the time down a bit, but all in all I did find myself laughing at points and enjoying it.

Saw it this this afternoon.. brilliant end to the trilogy. Easily my favourite movies of the Marvel films. The ability to make me laugh and no more than 5 minutes have me sobbing really is unmatched  Always a great soundtrack too.

For anyone going to see it there are two end credit scenes!

Probably the best movie of the trilogy, maybe that's recency bias, but I loved it. Has a lot of heart and emotional connection. After a lot of disappointing movies, Marvel has finally made a great movie

Return to form for MCU after a good few rubbish films in a row. Less pop culture references improved it a lot and weirdly emotional.

One of the best MCU movies of all time for me, what a perfect ending to this trilogy.

Guardians fully deserved this.
