Greenwood and Foden kicked out of England squad for bringing girls into hotel room

I'm often in agreement when people defend athletes or famous people who get in those situations, because it's true that none of us have any clue as to what that level of fame and clout can attract in temptations, it's a level different than most of us will ever experience and you hear people condemning them as if they are flawless human beings.

In this case though, I think some level of concern is warranted, this is Greenwood's first call up, they haven't been there very long, and he's one night away from possibly starting for his country for the first time. It's a problem if you can't keep it in your pants for longer than that. Martial was the most expensive teenager in the world, had just won the Golden Boy award, and come off a great debut season here at the age of 19. He gets into baby mama drama, along with Mourinho's arrival, and it's affected him mentally which affected his performances.

I'm hoping Greenwood learns from this. It's only going to bring him more problems as time goes on, so I really hope it's a big lesson for him because it would be a shame that his talent gets wasted even just a little bit by things like this. This is a step back when most of us were really looking forward to seeing him play internationally, even though I think the league of nations is barely a step above friendlies, it was still a big opportunity.

Tbf one of the most attractive girls I have ever seen is Icelandic.. Stunning sweet blonde.. So no complaints from me there.. And it's still a goal I guess :D

Gareth Southgate called up Kyle Walker, who during the earliest days of the UK going into lockdown he hosted a "sex party" with escorts, not a great senior pro for his City team mate Foden or to have around the England squad.

Jack Grealish, is another in the squad after breaking lockdown to attend a party and crashed his car.

I'm sure others have flouted rules and not gotten caught, but Southgate has always had odd ways.

Are you suggesting that Southgate should sanction players for things that they have done outside of the national team?

They're fecking superstars in football, they're not in some compulsory military service, which means they have a daily sex life as any other normal man all year long.

All that was asked is follow protocol when on professional duty of 10 days.

Was it that hard?
Judging from the answers in this thread, yes.

Absolutely right.

When you think back on stories of united players on England duty under Ferguson too, where supposedly they had their own united bubble, makes you wonder about Greenwood going shagging with a city opponent.

I'm not as concerned about that, but you would think on your first ever international call up your head would be completely focused on making the right impression. To just show a blatant disregard for that suggests either arrogance, self destructive stupidity, or just lack of commitment.

You'd hope he'll reflect on that himself and realise he's fecked up. If it's a one off you can put it down to learning a lesson at a point when he probably needed bringing back down to earth a bit. If it becomes a repeating pattern then it'll be a massive shame as it's the only thing that will stop him being a really top player.

Girls didn't even get to their rooms from what i can see... & some of the reactions on here are just straight up mad...

I think it is a bit serious, even if the girls didn't get to their rooms. Greenwood should be thinking of the Game right now, the lad just got into the national set up, and you hope that should be focused on the game.

Yes they are young and all, but it should be taken serious by the English Set up, as much talent as they have, it can only take you so far, they need to be focused, when its time to do what there are gifted with. It was stupid, and serious especially during the pandemic. It was a stupid thing to do, and hope they learn from it

Come on now. Of course I saw that you were being sarcastic, what I wrote after taking your sarcastic reply seriously doesn't make sense at all unless I did so on purpose. This is pretty funny considering "failing to comprehend", except if you're being sarcastic now as well which in that case egg on my face.
Alright... I still fail to see what any of it has to do with this thread.
Obviously what I'm saying is that maybe, just maybe, some people think what Greenwood did is worthy of critique, rather than them just being offended by his actions. And maybe, just maybe, they think your take is bad rather than being offended by what you're saying. If you are able to disagree with people without being oh so offended, maybe you're able to conceive of the possibility that other people can disagree with you or Greenwood without being offended as well. Which is why I asked.
Next time I'll use the thesaurus before posting so as not to use the same word more than twice, my mistake. There isn't a fine line between reasonable critique and claiming someone is "no professional", "thinks he's above the law" etc., and that's what I was responding to.

Those two were idiots but they were idiots in their personal lives.

These two potentially put England's match in jeopardy. They just got lucky they got caught when they did otherwise this would be far worse for them. When Archer broke the bio-bubble in the cricket he had to isolate for a few days I think because the tests will not show anything immediately, presumably if these two had mingled among the team after breaking the bio-bubble they'd have had to make the entire squad do the same.

Frankly I find the excuses made for them here weird anyway, the England team is full of young players, half the squad is 25 and the rest of the team seem to have managed what people here seem convinced is impossible and not breached the bio-bubble for a few days, then when they get home they can contact as many Instagram thots as they want and no one would care.

This post seems so obvious to me, I can’t believe people are missing it and just saying youngsters will shag or whatever, really missing the point.

They are just two teenage feckboys on a island. What could possibly go wrong? Hope there was no coke involved hehe.
I always thought Greenwood were gay.. must be wrong then. It’s something with his walking/body language
So many wrong things in this post  , Greenwood could be gay or not, it's not something you would know for sure from his walking/body language.

I have an incredibly strong and irrational dislike of people complaining about other people being offended, especially when there is no reason to assume that they actually are offended, and will take any opportunity, however small, to go on annoying rants about it.

No no, it's simply impossible for any 18 year old to go a whole 10 days (10!!) without having sex.

I hear their cocks fall off if they don't.

These clips look like a comedy sketch.

"What you comin to the hotel for"
"What do you think"

I am sure Harry Maguire will sit young Mason down and tell him how to behave in a foreign country....:wenger:

It probably would've been alright but the parent in Southgate told them to keep the door open so neither of them were up to anything.

Hopefully they won't have to waste their energy and risk injury playing for ingurland in the near future esp in waste-of-time tournaments & friendlies

We already know how they will compensate for any eventual lack of on-field exercising.

What's that got to do with anything?

Rashford has been tatted up for a few years now and is working his way to sainthood

Only wumming

Should ot twatted foden, TAA, and Sterling, not commited to the club. What would roy keane do, pogbas infuence etc etc etc

It was a moronical thing to do. Hopefully getting dropped will give Mason the kick in the ass he needs to ensure he doesn't let the early success get to his head. Team rules are in place for a reason, and especially as a youngster it behooves him to follow such rules.

According to the stories he's made a silly foolish cockup.

At worst I hope he got a handjob.

Considering there's hardly a close season, we're having a terrible close season.

Some of these comments are bizarre, it's one thing doing it when everything is normal and there's no pandemic on, and probably would have just got off with a telling off, but to do it during a pandemic and rules are clear, you have to be as thick as pigs sh!t.
What they did could have potentially led to the cancelling of a entire game solely based on their actions. I did stupid things when I was that age, but atleast had the emotional intelligence to be respectful when I was at work.

Get in Mason. Gets a few days extra rest before United season starts and goes out with an Icelandic ‘bang’. You lot could only wish you had this life as an 18year old

For gods sake people, young men and extreme hot girls are always a recipe of greatest decisions ever!

Why are they still in Iceland? Did it happen after the game? Should they not be back in England?

I always knew Foden was a dog with that eyebrow of his.

Personally id drop him for first game of season and happen to have Sir Alex walking the halls on the day he's in. Remind him that he can achieve absolutely anything. Fecking about on Snapchat with Phil bloody Foden and two pissed Icelandic twits won't help achieve that.
