Grealish To City? | City bid £100M

I genuinely think he’s brilliant but can’t see him ever playing 50-60 games like De BRUYNE or Bruno because he will be fouled so much in a team like City plus Pep will rotate him but he’s definitely the real deal providing, and this is a huge ask he can keep himself out of Deansgate and Manchester City centre, he’s a frequent visitor to broad street in Birmingham as it is, just saying you can have all the talent in the world but if you don’t have the mental fortitude and discipline you will never maximise your talent!
Listen, I share the same fear for Grealish as I do for Greenwood and Fodden, hyper talented young English superstars who both have their world at their feet but genuine world class stars deliver year in year out and at big international and European competitions, some of us mock Ronaldo for being a selfish conceited megalomaniac but the guy at 36 just goes and scores 5 goals in an average Portuguese team in another major tournament.
I do think if there is any coach that can take Jack onto an even higher level then Peps the man, but didn’t we say the same about sterling and now at just 26 he’s expendable. Jadon Sancho had similar talent to Grealish but Pep didn’t try to keep him and Phil Fodden is currently the golden boy like John Stones was a few years back , providing every game he plays each week is close to perfect!
Some people thought Jack Rodwell would be the next coming at City but I remember him moving into my block of appartments in Deansgate no 1 and you knew the first time you met him, that kid had more interest in lifestyle and money not playing football !
I see what you mean, but Jack is 25 now, turning 26 in September. He's gotten most of that out of his system. There was a time when he was Foden and Greenwood's age when it looked like his career would fizzle out, and he couldn't sort himself out off the pitch. I think John Terry becoming his captain really helped get him back on track as a professional, and incidentally that was also the season he took his game to the next level.

I need him in my life almost as much as my wife

I wish we had SAF still, he would move mountains to get this lad to Old Trafford

The composure to make the correct pass at the correct time that I've mentioned earlier in this thread was on display again. Time and time again Sterling was fluffing those passes. He comes on, he releases Shaw at the perfect moment, and then plays the perfect ball for Kane right at the moment he was free and still onside. It's priceless.

Could've gotten him for 40-60m depending on the year, but that ship has sailed. Time to get behind the Donny now

I'd genuinely chuck an extra £50m on to the Sancho fee to get him. Sancho is good but Grealish is just on another level, I have up there with the likes of De Bruyne. He just doesn't get to showcase it on the big stage playing for a lower team.

If we get Sancho and Grealish ends up going to City I'll genuinely be really disappointed. People will say Sancho plays RW, but he's still a right footer. I'd much rather Grealish on the left and everyone else fight it out for the right.

He could have been selfish for the first goal but played the right pass to Shaw. Then a perfect left footed cross to Kane.

At the least hopefully Villa keep on to him. The thought of him with Kane or Halaand at City makes me sick

That elite never say die mentality of running down blind alleyways and winning fouls will take City them up a level from PL and Carabao killers, to PL and Carabao killers…? Nice.

Not only do you think Grealish is better, you think he’s easily [sic] better. Insane.
I do, mate. And that's not meant as an insult to Sancho. I just think Jack is incredible.

He’s a class act and he seemingly links well with Shaw too.

Shame he’s unobtainable.

I always have worried that if Sancho struggles as a RW then he is a bit similar to Rashford as a LW in comparison to how different Grealish is to Rashford when playing as a LW or LAM.

It’s why I always wanted him over Sancho - I hope it’s still plausible even if we look a bit overset up on the left.

Clearly should be starting, must be a joy of a player to have in your team.

Nothing against the Sancho signing, but yes, Grealish would be a much better signing. We can't pass up the opportunity to sign a player like him.

What’s sad is historically he’d be a typical united player. Got united all over him. Now city are getting them and building that history. Will be there own beckham.

last year we had a chance to sign him for 60M but we blew it by chasing Sancho and bringing in VanBeek.

Not it looks like a big mistake ....adding salt to the wound he is now linked to City

Thought they wanted way more, like 70-80?

He’s so chill it’s hilarious. Lives at his on pace

City should concentrate on getting Kane. Grealish is a flash in the pan. I wouldn't lie to you, Sheikh Mansour.

Sancho 5 years younger and has been far more productive. All he did when he come on was go down the left and put in a cross for the goal. De Bruyne plays nothing like him and can strike the ball both footed, cross from deep and has the best weight of pass for through balls

Ole wanted Grealish last summer. Club let him down badly. The money we spent on Donny and Amad would have paid most of the Grealish fee. Madness.

Sancho is doing it in a tinpot league. We've just witnessed first hand that German football isn't exactly booming. They were dreadful.

Grealish is ahead of Sancho in the England set up for a reason.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm, it's hard to tell through text, but he created 2 chances in his limited time, one of which was an assist. Also put it on a plate for Shaw for the first goal.

Grealish's main strength is his weight of pass for through balls, it's up there with the best in football and dare I say De Bruyne himself. And speaking of striking the ball both footed, his assist was with his left foot. They're very similar in intent, if not playstyle 100%. Jack has said he watches a lot of De Bruyne and tries to model some of his game after him.
