Rosicky was a good player but injuries wrecked the guy. Also how much of Xhaka have you seen?
I'd suggest not much if he's compared Rosicky to him.

I wonder how he will do in the PL. He came a long way but for me there were always 2 issues. He was very inconsistent and his mentality didnt seem always right. He became very consistent also because they found his best position (also in the Swiss national team). Mentally, let's see about that
He is extremely confident and in the past that has been his problem as well. Under Wenger, he will continue his great development though but as I said, there are still some question marks for meIMO he's exactly the sort of confident and ambitious player Arsenal have lacked for years. He comes across as arrogant and he possibly is, but the way I see it you need those kind of players.
We don't have Arteta anymore and Flamini is surely gone. You've also forgotten Coquelin who is a tackler.Arsenal still need an actual ball-winner, they have a lot of playmakers and passers but not too many who can actually add steel and tackle strongly.
They currently have Arteta, Cazorla, Wilshere, Ramsay, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Xhaka, Elneny and Flamini all capable (to varying degrees) of playing in the centre of midfield. Elneny and Flamini are probably the most durable tacklers out of that lot, and they aren't exactly destroyers. All the rest are more suited to being a #10 or a winger in most other teams.

More likely Sanchez on the right and Iwobi on the left as it stands. Wenger doesn't rate Campbell. I also think Coq is likely to behind Santi and Elneny on form. Will be interesting to see that play out. A fit Wilshere can hold down a place too.You know, I knew I was massing someone.
If I were Arsenal, and there's no more midfield buys of note left to make, i'd go with:
------Coquelin-----Xhaka-------
Campbell------Ozil------Sanchez
-------------Giroud------------
They could still use a decent RW and ST, and it's a real shame to see the likes of Ramsay, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Wilshere not playing every possible game. I can see Ox and Walcott leaving this year, should boost the coffers for Wenger a bit.
Is it true that he's getting payed 145k pounds per week? If so, then it is quite mental.
Still, a very good signing for Arsenal. Get an another midfielder to partner him, a CB and a striker and they are good to go.
can go two ways - he will become our Schneiderlin or be the schneiderlin Southampton had - and i'm mostly blaming Louie's tactics for the former so still have high hopes for our Schneiderlin to become the one we were seeing at Southampton and were happy to get!!

Why not start a new thread? Had no idea until I read it on bbc. Never get the news here first any longer. feck mega threads.
Yeah, 100k per week and 25-30m transfer fee seems completely reasonable.£100k is what I've heard, £25m rising to over £30m is what I've heard when it comes to transfer fee. Loads of random figures being thrown around so hard to know which is right but the more reliable people going with those figures.

Around the same money as Herrera cost us. They are around the same quality IMO (although different style of play).
45 mil € fee just got reported on German TV
Granit Xhaka Admits He Used to Have Arsene Wenger as His Manager on the PlayStation
Granit Xhaka hasn’t taken long to endear himself to the Emirates faithful, as the newArsenal signing has revealed he used to have Arsene Wenger as his manager on the PlayStation.
Arsenal finally confirmed that the Swiss international had joined from Borussia Monchengladbach this afternoon in a deal thought to be worth £30 million.
And while Xhaka has admitted he’s known about Wenger’s interest in him for almost a year, it seems the appreciation was mutual, as the former Basel star was drawn toward the Frenchman on the video game console.
Speaking to reporters in his native Switzerland, via the Evening Standard, Xhaka confirmed Wenger’s legendary status left him speechless and that he used to pick him as his boss on the PlayStation:
“I was almost speechless when he called. Arsène is a legend for me.
“I often had him as a manager on the PlayStation. He’s a gentleman, full stop.”
This begs the question, is Xhaka a FIFA guy or a PES guy?
And was he signing himself while in an Arsenal career mode?
We look forward to more video-game related comments from the combative midfielder in the seasons to come...
SportBild were pretty shit in the last few years but have been absolutely spot on so many times this year, it's really worrying. Especially because it includes clubs they weren't well connected to at all, like Dortmund. I hate SportBild, I hope they go back to being always wrong so that I can stop taking them seriously .SportBild are reporting too that the initial fee is around €32m, I have no idea how reliable they are when it comes to Gladbach's dealings though.
When I was younger, even though I had a big brother, my parents would give me the last piece of cake every time. It's in my head that I am special.

Safe money.£1000 on that he will get a red card next season.
