Granit "The Hacker" Xhaka | Likes his reds

Likes of AFTV doesn't help, just breeds negativity. Whenever Arsenal don't win, the general response from the football world is to read and listen to their fan's reaction - main reason why AFTV has over 1m subscribers. I don't think Xhaka should've responded like that but is understandable why he did it. Should anyone be abused or called a c**t because their not performing well?

Surely it's irreparable now on both sides.

Sell him in January if I was Emery, try a like for like signing.

Give him back his keys and send him on his way.

I understand his reaction. They been on his case for a while. But AFTV is great because it's toxic. It's just the way football goes. As plater you have to view the fans as customers and not get emotionally attached to them. If I work for pc world and some talks about how bad pc world is. I wouldn't engage. That's how players should approach football

Atleast he hasn't done the fake things players do and apologised acting all sorry. Instead he removed his arsenal picture on twitter and put the Swiss shirt on. The fans will go even crazier lool

I like it and it made me laugh:D;)

Xhaka comes across as a very proud person (on the edge of arrogant), i think he is hurt deep inside and feels now disconected to this fanbase.
His reaction was not good and professional, but the way he has been threated from the arsenal fans and the media/experts has been disgraceful imo. He's been scapegoated for months and it was only a matter of time that something like this will happen. He's a hardworking lad that gives his all for the shirt and identifies himself with the club he plays for, and he don't even play bad every time i watch him play for arsenal.

He may not be the next Viera or Fabregas but he certainly don't deserves to be scapegoated like this. With the right partner and system he can be very good, as he shows for the nationalteam constantly. You can argue that he would be better suited to La Liga or Serie A.

Two wrongs don't make a right. His reaction though for a professional is wrong let alone being the captain. Football players no matter the perception are employee's, they aren't self sufficient they are paid wages and a salary in exchange for giving their services to a club. You cannot perform what Xhaka did at a job, so it shouldn't be condoned on a football pitch. The fans boo's are a disgrace but as a professional he should have taken the abuse for what it is (fan discontentment) and not a personal attack. However I've never played the game at the top level professionally so it's easy to be critical from outside looking in.

That's it to be honest, as soon as Arsenal have a poor result, everyone will tune in because we all know DT, Troopz, Claude etc. love having a meltdown. Xhaka shouldn't have responded the way he did but from a player's perspective, if you play for Arsenal, would you honestly want to be a part of club knowing their fans can turn on you in a moments notice? It's like how Troopz on Friday told everyone to lay off Emery and that's he backing and now all of a sudden he wants him sacked. How can you expect progress if you keep having knee-jerk reactions

I like that Xhaka isn't going to apologise. Let's call a spade a spade - he doesnt 'love the club', he doesnt 'love the fans', it's a job and Arsenal just so happen to be his current employer, an employer that he will probably be parting ways with in January. Likewise, the fans have nothing but disdain and bile for Granit Xhaka so let's just call it what it is - no love lost and a player who won't be wearing the armband again nor the shirt again, most likely.

Shake his hand, sell him in January while Arsenal can still make something off of him, move him on. No need for pleasantries from Granit - the fans won't be returning the favour either. Move on.

Is it what you'd expect of a captain? Of course not, hence the armband is moving elsewhere now.

It's also not what any footballer should expect of his fanbase, or at least a fanbase he wants to continue to be associated with. I would never want to play for Arsenal again if the fans had been calling me a cnut and insulting / wishing harm on my pregnant wife or whatever it was. Feck them.

Again, move on. Done and dusted. Breakups happen all the time in football.

He's just not a good player. Arsenal need to ship him out or not start him so much.

Just to move things a bit from the theme, whats up with Owen's mouth, he got fatter, botox or something else?

Xhaka is a better passer and playmaker than Pogba, his role in the team and what he could potentially become is very clear. He could become Arsenal's Xabi Alonso in the long run. Pogba is of course more talented than Xhaka but it still remains to be seen how he can fit into a title winning team.

Hi there

Kept his house keys hundreds of times during his childhood.
But He doesn't get to keep the key to supporters' hearts.

Be like Juan Mata. No keys during childhood but it's hard to talk shit about him because He's always been humble and classy. "The Hacker" is just as big of a man child as the supporters were in this case.

Just watched the "incident" and was expecting to be outraged.

Don't really see that much wrong with it to be honest. He's disappointed to be substituted.

Should he have reacted? No.
Is it THAT bad? No

He should just put a statement on twitter saying he was frustrated at being subbed because he loves Arsenal and wanted to help win the game, thank the fans for their fantastic support over the years and say he now wants to get his head down and train hard for the next game.

Nothing to see here.

I disagree, a toxic mood like that can spread like wildfire among the fans and then onto the club if it is not contained. If he gets a similar reaction their next home game he is not going to preform very well, and even if hes taken out of the equation, the fans will find some other target for their vitriol, be it either another player or the manager and if it becomes the latter that rarely ends well.

I dont think the regulars at Arsenal fan TV are representative of the majority of matchgoing Arsenal fans (they cant be can they?) but they at lest represent a small subsection of Arsenal fans and they are as toxic as they come. In either case, the mood around Emirates have not exactly been great the last years and look at what happened to us in Joses last season. Granted that was a bit different since the toxicity mostly came from the manager and not the fans, but if the players are meet with abuse and boos from their own fans, the mood in the dressing room will turn real sour real fecking fast

The Beeb 5 live Daily on this was quite good I thought.

Arsenal will offer counselling to Granit Xhaka after his angry confrontation with home fans on Sunday.

The thing with Xhaka is, if he's in the right system, he's actually got the attributes to be very good. Much more suited to Seria A IMO.

The good news is hopefully that’s the last we’ve seen of the Swiss Charlie Adam. Never rated him and he’s easily replaced. Hopefully we get some decent money for him.

And if the Swiss in any way hurt his feelings he'll replace it with an image of himself making the Kosovan crossed arms eagle. Captains don't sulkily stroll off pitches telling their own supporters to feck off.

Some Arsenal fans are a real disgrace. Another was spotted after the game hurling abuse at Aubameyang
There's just a massive swell of disenfranchised hatred in London. Been there lately? People as likely to set you on fire as say good morning. They are 8 million strangers to one another. Xhaka's fuxk off and Aubameyang's mirrored paint job supercar are the same thing. Arsenal fans are a very honest reflection of the social atmosphere down there. Keep well away.

The only time in my life I was about to go to London, a pickpocket nicked my passport and almost my wallet an hour before I was supposed to take the Eurostar.
