That’s actually a double entendre as there are different, specific grinds on the soles of wedges. He just needed more time to work on his grind game.
Any of you guys play Golf or is this strictly just for discussing the pros?
It was actually supposed to be a play on "ground game" as he was a football coach, but I'll take a win no matter the intentionality. That’s actually a double entendre as there are different, specific grinds on the soles of wedges.
You keep making funnies.

I try to.Any of you guys play Golf or is this strictly just for discussing the pros?
Define "play".
Do I swing a club and (most of the time) hit he ball. Yes.
Does the ball go in a generally forward direction. Yes.
Is my goal to end the day with more golf balls then I started. Yes.
Do I enjoy every minute of my long walk, mostly amongst the trees? Absolutely.
I’m a member of my local club and play a couple of times a week. Play the club competition most weekends and spend at least 1/4 of every round wondering should I put my clubs up for sale and quit the game for good.
I’m also a fan of the game and managed to tick the Masters and the Open at the Old Course off the list of tournaments attended this year, which was nice.
I try to.
Indeed. Every time I do something good, the game comes back to remind me that it is, in fact, very hard.Thats how i would define my golfing career.... career is a bit strong of a word.

Broke 80 for the first time ever this month. Followed that round up later that week with an 86 that included a snowman on a short par 4.
If it makes you feel better, I don’t think you never really get to the point where you’re not regularly frustrated with something in golf. I’ve got a couple golf buddies that are single digit handicaps and they’ll still be mad about how their 76 coulda been a 74.Yeah you are miles ahead of me so enjoy it. Remember when you are upset with a 90 or something - Im regularly hitting 100+. Never below
I cant use my irons at all at the moment its so frustrating.
Yeah I can understand that. Its the standard things after a round.. Cursing myself for that bad shot that made my 6 a 7 etc.If it makes you feel better, I don’t think you never really get to the point where you’re not regularly frustrated with something in golf. That happens. Swing changes take time and as your body adjusts to doing something new, even if it’s the right thing to do, you’ll have issues.its getting worse the more i tried to adjust

if right handed, go to the range and hit maybe 10 balls with your normal swing. Set a phone up and record your swing then watch it back. Then hit 50 balls holding the club with only your left hand. Then hit some more until you flush one with just your left hand. Then get your right hand back on the club and record your swing again. You’ll be amazed at the difference.
That's interesting! I was at the range earlier and didn't really try anything special but still struggles with irons. I'll give this a go next time
so many problems start with the grip. I’m not sure if @calodo2003 ever did this but a lot of instructors will refuse to teach Someone unless they grip the club a certain way from the get go.
practice wise, I would say that I spend 50% time putting and chipping, 30% irons and 20% with my woods. Taking out 3 putts is such a huge part of the game. Rory was criticized for having 36 putts on the final round of the open, but if the average golfer only had two putts on every hole, it’s the difference between breaking 100 or 90.
That’s where it all starts. Proper grip placement with proper grip pressure (the latter is a huge culprit for golfers of all levels).so many problems start with the grip. That place is on my bucket list of courses.A bit dorky, but I am fired up for the new course on WGT, PGA National.
Played it in an AJGA tournament when I was in high school, don’t think I had anything less than a bogey on all those Bear’s Horseshit holes every round. That place is on my bucket list of courses.
You mean the WGT golf game? I play sometimes, we should arrange a game unless you are one of those with a 54 average score.A bit dorky, but I am fired up for the new course on WGT, PGA National.

Yeah I’ve heard the Bear Trap are some intimidating golf holesPlayed it in an AJGA tournament when I was in high school, don’t think I had anything less than a bogey on all those Bear’s Horseshit holes every round.
Two par threes 180+ hitting to peninsula greens & a par four which has a two lane road as a fairway & water in the landing area that demands an approach of 180+. Lucky for me was that all the holes demand a fade (or a pussy fade in my case) & the wind was typically off the right. And they had the pins in locations right next to the water so the better play was to the back part of the green, but they were running about 11.5 so I had multiple three putts.Yeah I’ve heard the Bear Trap are some intimidating golf holes
If they demand a fade, I might be alright. Unless I hit one of my tee shots where it decides to just keep sliding to the right… to the right… to the [feck]…Two par threes 180+ hitting to peninsula greens & a par four which has a two lane road as a fairway & water in the landing area that demands an approach of 180+. The Bear Trap can feck right off into the lagoons.

I must say, I’ve been enjoying playing around on the sim lately with different shots. I’ve found I get some hectic back spin on my short irons by adjusting the direction of my hips.
my touch around the greens has always been my strongest asset. It’s hitting long where I come unstuck. One week I can hit my 6 iron 180+ Yards, the next week I care barely smack it 150. Just some consistency would be nice.
I just love how much noobody cares about it.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Saturday tickets were sold for as little as $1 on the ticket website StubHub, and "light crowds were spread across much of the vast grounds."
It does the heart good to see it.I just love how much noobody cares about it.
Who'd have thought the average joe actually likes competition and seeing players grind for it?
With the amount of money these pricks were already making, it was hard for the hackers to feel a connection but now that they're guaranteed money and that its not open to everybody, nobody apart from Bryson's 15 year old fans, are interested.
Lets not forget, anybody can play in the PGA if you're good enough.
I used to be weird like that. Birdie on the first? 80. Bogey on the first? Even or under.Score was 65 stepping onto 18, a 362 yard par 4. Enter Double bogey
