Golf 2021

Ive never really be that into pro golf, they play far too slowly. Il watch the final round tomorrow, but haven't seen much else.

Golf only returned in NI about a week ago, played last Friday Saturday and Sunday for the first time since last Summer. Oddly I drove the ball quite well but my putting was beyond shocking. Playing this evening and again tomorrow morning, well thats the plan - it was snowing earlier.

Many current professional golfers are adopting a Bryson-esque mindset. Keeping up with the Jones & all that. Spieth immediately also springs to mind (distance along with a grip change due to an injury).

There’s also a finite amount of endorsement money out there. Who wouldn’t want to appear to be pushing the envelope for more endorsements?

It’s also a bit of a dick measuring contest. All these guys are alpha mentalities in their sport.
This might be true, although Spieth isn't a long hitter so you can see why he would be tempted, but someone who is already probably top 20 length and near the top for accuracy and probably near number 1 for driver rating (length + accuracy), to try to tinker to get more length isn't just misguided, its idiotic.

Decent storm going to roll through in a couple of hours & potentially push the third round finish to tomorrow. All depends on how long play will be suspended.

That will throw quite a wrench into the proceedings.

I'm loving watching this Zalatoris kid. He has a real old school look about him - it's like watching old videos of Greg Norman or Bernhard Langer.

Tourney delayed due to the storm.

They’re playing the 2019 final round during the pause, started with Tiger on 11.

I know very little about golf and I watch even less but I do enjoy watching the final round of the Masters on a Sunday. Is it close at the top? Love it when there’s still a few in with a chance going into the last few holes.

Massively bunched up. Tomorrow should be a treat.

Brilliant! I remember a few years ago when I think there was a three way playoff due to a tie. The tension for each shot made it such gripping viewing.

I just can’t see anyone pulling away today as the course is playing massively different due to the rain & everyone is on the back nine. We could see a dozen or more players within three shots of the lead when the fourth round begins.

e - course softened up even more than I expected. The par fives had some darts thrown into them after the delay. Thought the greens would not become so damp. Affected the putting big time, but allowed long irons to settle down when they would have bounded long.

Frustrating round from Rose at the moment yet still finds a way to remain at -7.

What a shot out of the bunker after two misplaced shots

One of the best days of the sport calendar. Masters sunday. Hopefully it will get close and tense.

Insane play from Matsuyama after the restart.

Would be cool to see a former low amateur at the event win the tourney.

Great to see that right wing officious twat Bryson get humbled by a pitch & putt.

Wind’a up enough to make 12 tricky, but that is the only true ‘blow up’ hole left.

Matsu’s play after the restart yesterday could be the key reason he wins.

What the feck is this post? Piss off with your bullshit in this thread. This is about golf, not about whatever you're trying to make it into.
Yeah, I have only posted about politics this entire thread, what a complete derailment.

Sorry to let that slip out.

More like it.

Zalatoris drops a shot and looks like an easy birdie for Matsuyama, so going to be 5 shots in it.

Don't mind him winning, but can he atleast make it interesting for us. Just spanner 1 or 2 out of bounds.

Just another reason Bryson is an unlikeable cnut.

Jeepers two shots in it now, thought Matsuyama had it wrapped up anything could happen now..

Good for him. If there ever was a time for an Asian to win a golf tournament, it is now.

What a win for Matsuyama. Good to see him win it as he’s always seemed to be just a good dude.

Also, Zalatoris has only played in 3 majors ever and has a 6th at the US Open and a 2nd at the Masters. Look out!
